  1. No, it doesn't. You have no idea how the mechanics of this game work and you're frankly unqualified to debate it.
  2. I had some problems with the updater as well. I ended up unzipping the archive over the top of my install folder instead and that fixed it for me. I'd give that a shot, and uninstall/reinstall with the latest version if that doesn't work.
  3. It opens for me, try updating to v3.5.5
  4. One more thing about the builds you mentioned in your first post. Claws/EnA probably is better on a scrapper. Claws has really good aoe and doesn't really need the procced out rad aoes. From a toughness stand point, defense armors just tend perform better on scrappers. EnA is imo the best scrapper secondary. If you were also considering an EM scrapper, it might pair better with Rad. Just because it has something significant to gain by opening with GZ and RT.
  5. With my build I run FU > Focus > Slash > SW. That gives two chances to proc FF in the chain. Once it procs, I drop SW from the chain. I've heard the 3 attack chain is optimal, due to rolling the 3rd FU stack through part of the chain. I'm not sure though, I'm not a big pylon guy. I just didn't want my claw guy to stop and shoot lasers.
  6. Here's an option without moonbeam, didn't fit my theme. Not sure how much difference it makes for claws since you can run FU > Focus > Slash when FF procs.
  7. Any set bonus stacks up to 5 times. Some sets are unique like purples or ATO and these can only equip once. The first restriction is based on the specific bonus not the set however. Example: +10% enhancement recharge. You can only receive that bonus 5 times, even if you have 6 unique purple sets with that bonus. You can instead receive 5 bonuses at +10%, and another 5 at a lower value like +8.75% or whatever preventative medicine gives. Shield wall is not unique as a set, so you can stack the 4 piece bonus up to 5 times. The +5% resist all piece is unique as a single enhancement. So you have no way of stacking the 6 piece bonus twice.
  8. Energy Aura - It's the best, it has nearly everything. DDR, recharge, end fixing, a heal, toggle mez prot. The only noteworthy weakness is Psi. Seriously just make 8 different EA scrappers. Shield Defense - Awesome set with a lot to offer. Positional defense caps, resists to sweeten the deal, loads of DDR, scaling +DMG aura, and an AOE nuke. It's really just better Super Reflexes. Two drawbacks, clicky for mez protection and you can't play it with Claws. You should really play Claws. Radiation Armor - I know what you're thinking, "Resist armors are for Brutes". Well yes, but you can still easily build to the S/L or Melee soft cap. Add Ageless Radial for some DDR and ask yourself how often you're out performed by another set with half your resist values and no absorb. Comes with plenty of endurance, regen, and a scalilng +recharge aura. Add to that regen debuff, defense debuff, to hit debuff, and easy slotting for resist debuffs. Finally proc loading your AOE's can really supplement a single target focused set like Energy Melee or Martial Arts. Bio Armor - Offers a lot of consistent damage, along with endurance fixing and good regen. It is less tanky than most other armors, but definitely still worth making one. A little too dependent on defense for an armor with no native DDR in my opinion. Invuln\Willpower - Honestly pretty similar. They're both passive or mostly so, and both are exceedingly tough against Smash/Lethal. Neither really helps your damage output, which a scrapper kind of wants. Everything else without a taunt aura - Look, you've certainly played the game enough to know how highly you value mobs not running. I think lots of the other armors are great, so why not play them on brutes? My top 4 combo picks: Claws/Energy Aura Energy Melee/Radiation Armor War Mace/Shield Defense Katana/Bio armor @obsinious
  9. Claws, it's got to be claws. It checks like all your boxes. Great at single target and aoe, not many sets you can say that about (Maybe mace and TW?). No yucky elemental weapons. It's best if you skip the flip, are spins ok? The schnick-schnick sound of slash animating is very satisfying... to me at least. You can even slot some Force-Feedback procs to make your attack chain more reactionary. Bonus: the crit ATO and Follow-Up is a match made in Heaven. The drawbacks: Lethal damage - this is the biggest one. Most resisted damage type in the game, but like half of the powersets are smashing or lethal. Most of it's good performance is based on double and triple stacking Follow-Up for a constant damage/to-hit buff. This leads to two things. It's heavily recharge dependent, you ideally want to run a Follow-up > Focus > Slash chain. It's "Great" performance drops to average if you would be damage capped anyway, like under a Fulcrum Shift. Now I imagine which AV's you can handle has a lot more to do with your armor choice. From your thread title it sounds like you want to save that question for the next round, but my top picks are Energy or Radiation. SR will perform very well but no taunt aura is a deal breaker for me on a Scrap. Bio will have great output but be more squishy in most content. I haven't played stone since the rework but it should do well, again no taunt aura. Invincibility is quite tanky in general content, but it doesn't bring a recharge or damage increase. In game handle = @obsinious I forgot to mention, claws exemps very well too. You will have strike, slash, spin, and follow-up all by level 8.
  10. You can buy recovery serums at the p2w vendor. That solves 90% of endurance woes.
  11. Brute at damage cap is behind a scrapper at damage cap, even before factoring in crits. In fact this is the least favorable condition to compare a brute to a scrapper. Scrapper damage scale is 1.125 for melee and their damage cap is 500%, brute is .75 with a 700% damage scale. Scrapper: 1.125 x 500% = 563% at damage cap Brute: .75 x 700% = 525% at damage cap Compare this to solo with +95% damage from enhancement slotting and the brute at 85 fury. Scrapper: 1.125 damage scale x (100% base damage + 95% enhancement) = 219% damage Brute: .75 scale x (100% base + 95% ehance + 170% fury) = 274% damage The brute is much more advantaged at lower +damage levels, in these situations fury means a lot more.
  12. If toughness was my goal not only would I choose Tank over Brute, there's several armors I'd choose over Bio. Bio is a top tier armor, but being the toughest sonuvabitch in the room isn't it's strength. However, if you're dead set on a /bio brute there's definitely something you can do to up your toughness. Throw in Defensive Sweep with a single LotG. Getting to melee softcap with Def sweep up will be a big boost to staying power if that's your main goal.
  13. The problem you're going to have with your new build is Accuracy. Some of your main attacks are sitting at like 76% against +3. Roleki's build is quite good and really not very expensive. If you can afford the Superior ATOs I'd just steal it as is (swap travel powers if you want). Otherwise at least use it as a starting point and swap out the ATOs until they're affordable.
  14. Ok, so I've played Fire armor and I've played TW. Never together. I'm not sure how optimal my chain is, but I take crushing blow and slot it out. It's what I use for my momentum starter on single target. You could just use Titan Sweep, but you're definitely giving up some efficiency in ST scenarios. Your aoe chain should flow fine as is. That said I can't imagine skipping burn, its literally THE reason to go fire armor. Also, don't under estimate blazing aura damage. It looks small but it's always going without taking animation time. It adds up a lot and it should be slotted for at least some damage, it could mule an entire 6 piece if needed. So, where to get slots for Burn and Blazing? You're way over slotting Weave and Maneuvers. Red fortune doesn't bring much. Drop Impervious Skin unique, it's garbage. Drop the Impervium armors and the Aegis. Your psi resist is bad anyway, I don't think you should chase it. I'd probably try to get another 4 piece Unbreakable into Plasma Armor, along with the two piece Steadfast. Then move the Gladiator unique to another armor. You can drop a slot from Tough as well since we only need 4 piece Unbreakable. To expound on this, I don't really think it's worth building to try and close holes in Brute armor sets. With 20-30% resist you still don't want to stand around and tank a bunch of psi damage. Just kill it first. With tankers it's a lot different. You have better numbers to start with and a 21% resist ATO, so the holes are smaller and they shore up easier. As far as Resist vs Defense? I don't know, but once you can afford purple sets you probably don't have to choose. You have no DDR, so the small buffer from defensive sweep won't mean anything in a cascade failure situation. 15% more S/L would go a long way in those scenarios, but being melee soft-capped is probably a lot better in the large majority of situations. As far as endurance I'd probably be dropping vengeance, tactics, and both travel powers to try and get to Physical Perfection in Energy Mastery. Three of your thirstiest attacks are running Oblit6 which is really low on End Redux, it could be rough.
  15. The current/up to date take on this is that it isn't really worth it. The main benefit of farming now is either to power level, or to do it afk while doing something else. Pretty much everything else in those guides is still going to be valid if you really want to do it. But it's just much less effective than putting the same effort into the Market instead.
  16. Yeah he also put shield in B which is pretty XD
  17. The real question is: how soon do you want to be hard to kill and against what content and with what resources? At 50 with full incarnates and premium IO's everything is hard to kill. Tanks get there way sooner. Same with damage in the reverse, most tanker builds (not looking at you Brunkers) suck at low level dps because their attack set is a secondary and they don't have a lot of good attacks. Meanwhile a Brute has FURY at level 1 and this means they're consistently running around with around +160% damage before you even get to slot your powers.
  18. I'd rate Rad armor higher than Elec or Dark, and I wouldn't even disagree that it's a little squishier. I still think it's better due to everything else it brings, especially the easy mode endurance and proc bombed aoe's.
  19. Dev Blow by a mile. The animation is long af, but it hits hard enough to be worth using. It has the highest damage per animation in the set, skipping it is always a dps loss.
  20. I don't think so but GZ hits pretty hard on it's own. About 30% more than Claws-Spin.
  21. Rad Therapy has a base 3.0x accuracy multiplier, so you shouldn't need any accuracy at all. Proc that shit up. G-zero is a 1.2 acc modifier so it needs a little acc slotting, but less than a normal attack
  22. Whoever gave you the build frankly didn't do a very good job. 3 slots into burst won't be enough to maximize your damage and recharge while hitting the necessary accuracy threshold. Same with smashing blow, and it's the best attack in the set. Beta decay typically is a one slot wonder, Rad therapy and ground zero you have a couple options. You can either stick a few slots in just to maximize heal and recharge, or you can load them up with damage procs and turn them into real AOE nukes. With kinetic I would definitely recommend the latter. Everything W_P said about slotting is accurate as well. I'd honestly look for a fresh build and respec.
  23. WP/Ice sounds fun. I wonder how well Ice Patch can fill in during those times that Will's DDR fail it.
  24. Why would you roll an ice tank? Because the theme interests you, that's it. Is it worthwhile? It is if you think you'll enjoy it. If you're asking if it's a strong armor, then no it isn't. Tank scaling and IO mean any armor can be reasonably strong, but an ice armor is undoubtedly the least impressive. Now Ice melee is a different story, ice patch is great and the set has pretty good damage. If you have an ice theme that you want to play you might consider just running ice melee with one of the less visually intrusive good armors.
