  1. Maybe not the best place for an appreciation post. But as someone who was extremely critical of the pricing before, it's really been a whole turn around with these last patch notes. I love seeing the price values being pulled from 'the numbers' and being more tangible to understand.
  2. If they do end up being that rare, any chances of adding the Nemesis horse to the list? I mean if we're talking about showing off something weird....
  3. I like your t-shirt idea better, lol. One man's meme is another man's dream.
  4. As someone who was extremely critical of the pricing the first time around, this seems a lot better considered. I am a little confused on the 'deluxe' costumes per the posting's wording.. Are these essentially 'wombo combos' of two other tier 3's?
  5. I already have tons of notice of the wells I don't know what to do with, Might be interesting to find a sinkhole for those and un-needed emp/astral merits.
  6. This helps me feel better about the AE changes (which I begrudgingly agreed with). But it also makes me more enticed to 'touch grass' outside of AE and do some itrials on already-maxed-out characters.
  7. As someone with a crippling compeltionism addiction, it only takes 2 of us with limiteless INF to want the same thing to drive the demand to skyrocketing levels.
  8. You're welcome to borrow one of my builds for testing, they come 45% s/l/c/e/b/f softcapped.
  9. The 'new' part is that some blaster build could get away with temp invuln and other epics when all they needed to get was S/L defense. Now if a player feels compelled that they want to protect themselves against energy/lethal/cold/fire they're going to have to go with one of two epic sets. I agree epics/patrons could use some work, but that's another conversation.
  10. Thank you as well. Per my original post, I am taking two theories of build making that are being discussed when it is coming to blasters and comparing them back to back and notating the difference. They are relying on just S/L versus All types of defense. I am giving feedback on how they feel, and what the experience for each are against different mob types. Obviously if you have more types of defenses, mobs like Gunslinger bosses are going to feel very different versus if you are just capped on S/L. The reason for the experiment, is that there are specific things you have to sacrifice on your build to cover yourself for what people are calling 'only a handful of mobs' that were changed. Ergo, Fortunata's attacks may not have changed significantly, but the side-effects of going with a build that covers all defense types (a future-proof build for enemy groups that are going to be introduced with this new damage typing) are what changed. You can solo arachnos a lot easier on S/L/E/N/F/C builds, but it's not as fun because having less recharge stacked on top of Fortunata's -recharge psi as a side-effect. Ramifications are not always skin-deep to just a few mobs that changed just a few attacks.
  11. Probably would have been a better example if I could get one to hit me with a negative punch, but AI is AI. What I am saying, is by adding one-two more attacks that hit your more often for -tohit, it leaves you at the end of the mob waiting for debuffs to fall off.
  12. I think the aggro cap has a view bugs that are causing it to act not as intended, so it's not really fair to evaluate it in its condition. But this is with little testing myself and a different thread. I for one build to take max aggro at all times so I don't know if I'd be the right person that it'd affect in the first place. And yeah, I'll have to test my characters with +acc.
  13. I'll elaborate on the council by saying, I don't think they were especially more difficult. Just less fun to play against when I'm waiting for -tohit buffs to go away so I can tap out the last boss/lt from the mob. It's like waiting for carnies to come out of phase shift.
  14. Considering how only about 100 people read the forum rules, I think even less made it to rule 5. People like to reply to negative feedback by assuming people 'just want to be negative with knee-jerk reactions to bully the hard-working devs.' I think the devs can understand that of course we are going to be super-critical of these changes, and that's not juxtaposed to us also appreciating the hard -volunteer- work they do for HC.
  15. You're right, I missed the joke, that's my bad. And I think it's all the attacks. Part of the reason why I feel council's vampyr suck more than they used to, is that you're not only taking more damage when they hit you more often, this also buffs their ability to -tohit you to death. With Fortunata's, my recharge (which when already running a slower recharge build to get to s/l/e-(and all the rest) defense build) really slows you down so that your mez-free button and attacks take twice as long to come up as they used to.
  16. I never said everything is awful. I said this is a net nerf to blasters. And +4 x8 was already a challenge. Now it's even more of a challenge and requires a respec for certain content for changes (IMO) that feel unnecessary.
  17. As an update since I have had some time off to do some missions on Brainstorm. 'You'll be fine', sure. This is still a net nerf to blasters. I don't know why everyone points to CoT cold dmg as the poster child as to why this is no big deal. Having tested several enemy groups at +4 x8 Bosses ON, this is what I've found. CoT: Pretty much the same. (I guess?) frosties hit harder, but not a big change. Arachnos: Went from tough to deal with to down right impossible if you get a Toxic Tarantula or Fortunata Mistress. Carnies: Still not fun to solo, but that's always been the case. Malta: Gunslingers(boss variant) are tougher, and MUCH harder on a S/L capped blaster versus a S/L/E/N/F/C capped blaster. Council: Vamps and Galaxies suck on a S/L Capped blaster, just as easy as ever on S/L/E/N/F/C capped blaster. Rikti: Easier(?) for some reason? Maybe since drones are prioritized with their exotic damage type instead of positional now? I'm not sure. Keep in mind: I was using my elec/martial blaster since I had the most confidence in its survivability due to -end and having some regen on top of softcaps and a de-mezzer. Some additional things I found in testing; If you choose to go with a S/L/E/N/F/C defense build, you are inevitably going with scorpion shield/ice shield patron/epic. This is not going to be a change for a lot of people. But those thematic builds are going to have to take the hit. The 'kill them before they kill me' tactic is not something as reliable as it once was, especially on a S/L/E/N/F/C build since you are sacrificing dmg/recharge for survivability. Tl;dr S/L capped blasters are not going to be able to solo the same content they used to. Don't assume 'everything's fine' just because you found a level 54 minion that didn't stop you into dirt.
  18. To be considered: I tested different blaster builds at +4 x8, in theory using mids. Here is a list of builds for reference. Beam rifle/plant Fire/energy Water/Martial Electric/Martial +4 x8 solo is still very much possible, but the biggest loser here seems to be epic/patron pools. You can soft-cap these 'exotic' type damages (NRG/NEG/COLD/FIRE) - HOWEVER In order to do so, it's basically become mandatory you go with Ice Mastery or Black Scorpion pools to get there. Additionally, in order to get to soft-capped on different damage types you will have to sacrifice that sweet damage and recharge set bonuses - some builds more than others. Similar issues with damage resist secondaries for scrappers/stalkers/sentinels per theory-crafting in mids. I look forward to testing these builds on Brainstorm when I can dedicate time to playing CoH again, but I'm still feeling pessimistic about these changes.
  19. But I'm not able to do more of this content until an imaginary 18 hour timer goes by. If I like doing a plus +4 hardmode ITF on my stalker, once a day is all I'm getting on that stalker I enjoy playing. I don't know if this is necessarily a good thing. This happened with PVP IOs and some purples on live to the point that almost nobody had sets of them. Again, I get that they are just vanity items and you don't -need- them, but it's still a bit of salt.
  20. Fair. I put in a lot of work for the builds and many more. I'm going to want the coolest vanity toys to go with them all the time. What does it matter which one actually does the content?
  21. Is doing it with my corruptor more or less effort than doing it on my brute? I'm sorry, I'm just not seeing the connection.
