So I came back last spring when news of HC broke. Got a little bored with easy mode. Now I'm back and was wondering the current state of WS v PB. I see a lot of buff PBs threads but Redlyne's post seem as if PB is the Uber. Just figuring out which to play with my limited time. Thanks

I was thinking of rolling an "original" scrapper meaning trying to only use the combinations that were there early on. I had a Dark/Inv back in the early days (I started at I1 a couple of months after launch), but didn't make another scrapper until Dual Blades (DB/Will). I tried re-rolling the DM/Inv, but since I have been spamming Sands of Mu it's lost that loving feeling. What other combinations did y'all play in the early days before power proliferation? What do I need to roll to get the scrapper experience? I have mained a defender and Khelds most of the years I played. Since I don't really have the time to commit to a team any more, I would love to experience a more scrappy side of the game. What would y'all recommend?

Makes sense, thanks. I'm going to stick with bolt. I like what you are saying about orbiting death. I moved some of your slotting around to accommodate the two At sets, but I will revisit to get some slots for OD. I like to play up close and personal as well. I have always mained (well since Issue 1, I wasn't there for launch) a Kin defender who's main defense is the massive heal and hoping it lands haha.

So I am wondering why Gravimetric snare instead of shadow bolt for the extra attack in dwarf form? I know the control is better, but it seems like the ranged attack would be good for pulling in dwarf. Also why orbiting death? It even gets a slot. Is it that good? Thanks!

Oh that's nice. That was the big pull for warshade back in the day. It feels a little like cheating on a PB with Mez protection also haha

So I am curious how staff is and what might pair with it well. Also wondering if it's better as a scrapper or brute. I keep starting alts that common wisdom says should be the other AT, like a shield brute or a TW/bio scrapper. Those toons are fun, but I did want to check with those that know melee better than me before I started another haha. Thanks all!

Thanks for the build again! I'm also on excelsior, so we should team up some time. I had a question real quick. Can you shift in and out of light form to the other forms or once you lf are you locked into for the 2 mins? I was thinking of if I had to pull aggro but couldn't go dwarf what would I do type situations. Thanks

I had a TA/archery toon when it first came out that I had a love hate relationship with. But some reason, I keep thinking I should remake him (despite leveling two other defenders haha). Anyone have any experience with the current state of TA? Is anyone playing it, or has it been left behind in favor of blasters' tac Arrow? Thanks, Jolin

It's much much easier to get IO sets now on homecoming than it was on live. Thank you, Hero Reborn. Adn you are so right. I have been more successful than I thought I would be with my limited time since I came back.

If you have one of your shield or travel powers, then your eyes glow with the cannon aura.

So I had a pretty legit WS back in the day, and I still had the costume file. Got the name on my homecoming server, loaded the costume, but I'm not feeling it. I can't decide if it's just the low level blues, or if I'm more of a blapper now. I remember one being a better dwarf tank back in the day, but I don't remember which one or why. Basically, I'm asking which one is more effective at that tank mage feel with versatility they were originally designed for with out a ton of IO set tweaking. I was all in for IO sets 8 years ago, but now I have three young kids and no time to grind all those sets out. Thanks.

As I'm thinking about remaking him, I'm asking myself, why not corruptor? So I figured I would ask here. I understand the differences, but not some of the more subtle things about sets. For example, I missed shields damage bonus is much better in a scrapper than a brute. Not a game changing mistake, but enough to ask before progressing too far this time haha. Thanks, Jolin

Going for kinda of a super solider feel, and thought /ma or /energy might be good for enhanced strength melee. But /devices has the classic solider feel. Pros and Cons of each from better players than me would be appreciated. :)

Are shields not good on brutes for some reason? Or just not popular?

Okay, I'll ask. :) I have concepts for AR/martial, Dp/martial, and DP/ninja. DPs are remakes of a back in the down DP/nrg blaster. Which do y'all think would play better. I see a lot of Dp/ma builds, but none of the other two. Wanted to get some thoughts. Thanks Jolin
