  1. I noticed the forums were changed when my bookmark didn't work correctly! Heh. Definitely looks different.
  2. Thanks for the contest! I got third place with Riff Raccoon! :D
  3. I'll move on. I'll be more careful from now on. Sorry.
  4. I agree. Tone can be an issue. But I just don't see any other interpretation to what was said other than that I should create my own stuff for the game instead of suggesting it on a suggestion forum. Unless you mean that was intended to be completely sarcastic. That's the only thing I see changing the meaning here.
  5. Those are good points. And, to be fair, I said in my opening post that I wasn't expecting them to be able to do much (why I said a stripe pattern for a tail would be more plausible than a new head) and that they had very limited resources. It is only a request.
  6. My interest in this is as a player, not a developer. I do not have the skills to create it myself. If we had the skills to make changes to the game ourselves, there wouldn't be a need for a suggestions & feedback forum. :P I wouldn't take the advice as a slight toward you. It's just economics, really. It's just that it could be applicable to virtually every single topic put on this suggestion forum. But it was posted in mine. It's hard to not take that a little personally.

  8. Almost didn't post this because I wasn't sure how it'd be received. Thanks for all the great responses, so far! Some good ideas here, for sure.
  9. Raccoons are my favorite animal and I have a great one on a certain other superhero MMO - see avatar (thanks to some pieces that other game added a couple years ago). Anyway... while a masked pattern for one of the existing animal or monstrous heads would be nice, my more realistic/plausible suggestion to start is... A striped pattern for one of the animated wolf tails, even using the pattern from the cat tail would be adequate, I think. I realize it is more work than it seems, but that would be my top costume suggestion currently. But there is a reason I left the title more vague. This is a variety of costume type, overall, that I think said other superhero MMO has a lot of - in that game, there are not many varieties of beast hero you *cannot* create. That said, what is already here is a nice start, in fact I think I very much prefer the look of the big cats and minotaur here. While I realize resources here are much more limited than there, I thought it would be nice to have an open topic for others to give suggestions on this subject... (But first, the raccoon tail. Heh)
  10. I've been playing Champions Online on and off since it launched and more solidly the past few years. I absolutely prefer CO's costume creator and think it's the best ever on an MMO. But, now that I've tried CoH again with Homecoming, I can confirm - for me - that is the only advantage I see with Champions. Gameplay for CO just feels clunky to me? The targeting doesn't work as well. Having to worry about your energy builder. And powers just don't feel as powerful, somehow. The community has some pockets of good people (I am something of a quasi-member of one group of former CoH players), but overall CO is a very cliq-ish community and chat has plenty of toxicity. And things like costume contests often feel like they are actually about popularity. The gear and amount of stats, it just feels needlessly convoluted. Ultimately, you're gonna look up a build and follow a cookie cutter if you want to compete - so why not just make it simpler, to begin with. CoH's enhancement system is so much more sensible and well-designed to me. Paragon City feels more like a real city. And it also feels like there is more to do. For me, the radio/newspaper missions, in particular - I just love randomly generated content, it keeps me hooked in a game like this, gives me a consistent well of things to go to if I choose to stream, for instance. Closest CO has to that are things like Alerts and UNTIL missions and both of those seem way more repetitive to me. I love the way my hero looks on Champions Online (he's pretty much my ideal MMO character). But if I could lift him out of Champions Online and put him in City of Heroes, I'd never look at CO again. Heh. (I might not even play another MMO, were that the case)
  11. Cosmic Greetings! (my first post on these forums). Thank you very much to everyone who put in all the awesome work to help bring back this nostalgia bomb. Alongside EQ1, it was one of my first full-featured MMO's that I played. And I played it a fairly decent amount. Even as other MMO's began to gain my interest, I would still come and go to CoH, up until its end. I've since played many other MMO's (was a very active part of the Marvel Heroes community, another game I had to see unfortunately end). Some WoW, ESO, FFXIV recently, numerous others along the way. Even Champions Online managed to snag my attention with their costume creator (particularly by adding raccoon costume parts one anniversary - they are my favorite animal). But now that I can literally play CoH and CO side by side, and not rely on imperfect memory, I can say I absolutely prefer the gameplay and enhancements of CoH! Much more. So much more that I am forsaking my ideal raccoon hero to play it, instead. That says a lot (although I'll see if I can get creative with what CoH has, maybe we can get the tiger stripe pattern on the wolf tails someday? A mask pattern for the monstrous heads? Heh)
