  1. I play this game previous, had fun, etc. Thinking of coming back for a bit, not sure. How is the game doing? Population OK? Groups still happen from time to time? How has the game changed in the last I think 3-4 years? Thanks in advance.

  3. I can’t post build as I’m not done yet but I have two quick questions. 1) Options to slot icicles. I figure I can use almost no slots, slot for damage (with scrapper + crit chance or without?), slot for dam proc, or slot for other procs e.g. knockback. Not sure best slotting strategy here. 2) Similar problem with chilling embrace. How many slots should be in this? I currently have no extras as I’m maxxed out but this power seems to want at least a few turtles in it. Thoughts appreciated, full build in a later post.

  5. Hello all, I’m debating how to slot my alpha and hybrid. I’m trying to max utility between both holds and damage, both of which Fort’s are ok (but not great) at. Options (negotiable) are agility or intuition for alpha, and assault or control for hybrid. I’m leaning agility and assault to boost damage and keep powers running, but aside from the recharge I’m not sure a Fortuna needs (wants prob) anything from agility, and control in hybrid will both inc dam and get lvl 4 controls. Thoughts?

  7. Hello all, When I go to play the game, I get this: as well as a postage stamp-sized window for the game. I looked this up online and there were a few comments regarding going into the launcher , right-click, properties, compatibility, high DPI, two check marks, apply, save. Didn't work. I tried it with the Score and City of Heroes launcher's as well, nothing. Any idea how to fix this? I would not mind playing but I can't if I can't enter the game.
  8. This game is not so hard-core that, if you can't get perma-hasten, you won't get accepted into groups/raids/whatever. Just make what you like, try your best, and figure it out.
  9. I think a lot of SG's have English as a language used to some degree. I've only see a couple which are doubtful tbh. Shameless plug: 47 Ties is predominately English if that helps, and I think we're recruiting.

    Do you /others find ice/ice fun to play though? Curious about it, always liked ice motif.
  11. TLDR: Does choice of primary matter in regards to intuition specifically +def debuff? I admit in advance I'm not 100% sure if this is important or not. Looking at intuition at the end, it gives you +hold (nice), +range (nice), and +def debuff (???). Two questions here: 1) Is it important which primary/secondary you have as for example fire/emp (just an example) has no def debuffs, so this class can't utilize the +def debuff. 2) If it is important, should one tailor one's classes around this point? For example, as far as I know only Earth control that has -def. Am I "taking a hit" by not playing an Earth controller? I actually like Earth so to me it's not a big deal, but going back, if I take a fire controller vs. and earth controller, and thus can't take advantage of that +def debuff, am I losing enough to make it a big deal or not?

  14. Shadewe steps up to the podium, adjusts some papers, clears her throat, and looks at her audience with a calm, confident look of determination... I'd like to take a moment to call to attention what I feel is the misunderstood nature of Trick Arrows. I have seen now two people claim that it is "flawed", "broken", "tier 3"; I would like to say that I feel that this could not be further from the truth. Trick arrows does one thing, and one thing only; it debuffs. Dark miasma debuffs, but it also heals. Radiation debuffs, but it also resurrects. Trick Arrows does not heal, it does not buff, it does not resurrect; it debuffs, and it does it very very well. Right out of the gates you have flash arrow. As soon as you start playing, you can neuter your enemies ability to hit anything, making the prized "healer" nigh-useless. Right around the corner is glue; if you don't think glue is useful, ask your blaster and sentinel friends if it's useful having 10+ people all in one tight little bundle that can't move, and then watch as your capstone AoE goes to town on some unsuspecting people. You might then say, "But Shadewe, what about big nasty bosses, elites, AV's and GM's? You don't have -regen as well as some other skills, you can't possibly do anything useful!" Nay I say, your usefulness is just beginning! First off is your bread and butter, EMP arrow. EMP a targeted AoE, not PBAoE (safety first!) to both hold nearby minions and -regen the AV, which will buy you a little time while your acid arrow and disruption arrow get added on (oh, the debuffs!), making the offending target as soft as a marshmallow. By then, your precious DPSers and tank should have things firmly under control, and the day is saved. You might then say, "But Shadewe, Trick Arrows can't do everything, thus it must be bad!" Nay I say, for they whom specialize at everything specialize at nothing. Yes, there are sets that have more options than trick arrows; I'd argue that ALL primaries have at least as many options as Trick Arrows, for Trick Arrows does only one thing, but it does it very, very well; it debuffs. While others will argue that Trick Arrows is Tier 3 because it does not have multiple options, I counter that it is Tier 1 as its focus is unparalleled. To further add, Trick Arrows is also the only (as far as I know) power set that gives you extra tricks up your sleeve! Do you like your Fulcrum Shift? One Oil Slick, divided a dozen times or so, and you have targets galore! Do you like extra damage? One Oil Slick with a fireball and you have damage galore! It even acts like a mini-dominatrix, mini-dominator, with Ice arrow and EMP keeping things nice and safe for your group so a silly empath doesn't have to! I am not expecting this message to sway the masses; keep your Time, Empath, Dark Miasma, your Nature and Thermal! I send this message out to those whom keep an open mind that there is a better way! There are options out there besides "you must have healing in your group" (which, if I remember correctly, was the original point of this thread to begin with)! If you're watching this thread and feel afraid to try Trick Arrows because others label it Tier 3, I will stand up and proudly say that I am playing Trick Arrows and that I love Trick Arrows! If you want to follow the crowd, your Empath or Time defender awaits. If you want to be different, to have fun, and to bring justice/terror to the world, a Trick Arrows build might be just what you're looking for! Shadewe collects herself, nods to the crowd, and steps down from podium. She doesn't know if anyone will hear her words, but if even just one person might break out of their shell and try TA, then it will be worth it... (edit: grammar)

  16. I might be late to the party but I have a Bio/Psi tank and I think /Psi is wonderful. I run a three attack rotation single target only when I'm DPSing (which I do), plus I have taunt and mass levitation for taunting purposes. I don't have the 1st AoE attack (Psi Blade Sweep) as A) Mass Lev does a better job at hitting close-by targets, and B) the three single target attacks fill my more basic DPS needs well enough + cycle reasonably fast. When you get mass lev, especially if you also have haste, it runs hot (at least with the build I have) so you'll need to be aware of +end. I used to have boggle but I got rid of it; it's a fine power but A) it's animation is too long, and B) I didn't think it fit well into either category (DPS or Tanking) once I hit lvl 38, so I didn't feel it had a role anymore. I also don't have the build-up power; although my char can DPS, it's not designed with that as the primary task, so I used that slot for maneuvers instead to give the DPSers more DPS, which I thought might be a better use of the slot. Hope this helps.
  17. Hello all, Note: I have a bio/ tank, and I'm trying to figure out my last four powers. I'm starting to get some push-back on endurance, but plan to put 3 slots in stamina to rectify (maybe more later with a set, we'll see). Question 1: does a bio/ tank need Physical Perfection and/or Focused Accuracy? I can see them helping but I'm not sure I "NEED" them. Question 2: If I don't get them, what else? My primary and secondary are set so it's gravy stuff right now. Stuff high on the list (with few to no extra slots to provide them) are maneuvers/assault for some team goodness, the medicine group to rez fallen teammates (not sure on this as at lvl 40+ people die less and have rez already), more travel powers (not "NEEDED" but QoL), or different epic pools e.g. getting earth for some holds and quicksand, stuff like that. Thoughts/recommendations?
  18. That's the problem as I see it is my tanker is on Recluse, the black sheep of the servers apparently. Unless I make an alt (which is fine) to play I probably can't join, but at the same time I don't want to have a different alt for 4 different servers just to participate once a week on a rotating basis. I'd say stick to one server and be done with it. As someone who's not on Excelsior, I can make an alt there and play with you guys, but I don't want to make 4 alts to do the exact some thing.
  19. I don't have a tanker on Excal but I'll make one up for next tanker tuesday and come join you guys if I remember. I was busy yesterday else I'd have joined then.
  20. This char seems more built like a brute than a tank; ablative and DNA siphon not maxed, attacked mostly maxed, weave late, no hasten (for ablative and siphon). Why no adaptation or taunt? Just my thoughts.
  21. Not sure; maybe it wasn't seen as not 'tanky' enough? For example, regen isn't there either. Probably in the same boat.
  22. Hello all, I've read people's tanks and I've seen lots of options with 1, 3, or 6 slotted taunt. What's the strategy behind the different numbers? How many slots should I look at for my taunt and why? I'm trying to make a char that can keep the aggro on me as much as possible, and I don't PvP.
