  1. Costume codes were also given as prizes for official costume contests and such. Without the dubious bragging rights, I expect that most players have little use for them, while some would like specific costumes for specific characters. One player I recall had a use for many costumes in RP for a character that was supposed to be a shapeshifter, but that's an extreme outlier. Seems a good fit for the P2W vendor.
  2. I believe nothing of the sort. If you really do, and aren't just blowing hot air (you know where), you're likely to be a victim. At least this game seems to inspire courteous behavior in players more than not. I'm sure, however, it's a response to the mechanics and design on some level, accounting for the disparity with more twitchy and competitive MMOs. Ditto for why players choose blueside over red. I mean, you'll even find people mostly behaving the same on that 4chan server, despite a few edgelords spamming garbage for the Lulz. I believe he means the queue systems found in WoW, SWTOR, DCUO, and other MMOs. And the answer to the original fella is: No. You mean yes. Have you not clicked that LFG tab? Sure, if you're just a low-level scrub you'll only see Drowning In Blood there, or maybe one other trial if there's a holiday event running, but it is a queue that you can just join and get added to a team for the Trial if you want. You could also gather a team, or even a League, and then join the queue, but you don't have to.
  3. Usually I think this game is pretty well-crafted, but every once in awhile I run into something and think "who wrote this mess?" There's also some dialogue put into the player character's mouth at times that can be annoying. I'm sure it's not just me... If you could fix something like that, what would you choose and how would you change it?
  4. Character: Nefaria Account: LycraBoy Battle Cry: Bow down before your Empress!
  5. Apparently it is a skybox effect, like in Doom or Quake, where you put a particular texture on the ceiling to show the sky. Lots of new stuff to sort through, but you'll know it when you find it.
  6. I think they've turned off the function that stores an image on this site, but not the dialog that prompts for it. Use a linked image from another site and it'll happily insert the link
  7. Good point. My suggestion would be to constrain everyone down to maybe 3 character slots during the first week of release, then roll out more later on. That'd give most people a decent chance at claiming their most cherished identities while keeping the squatters at bay. I second this, only I think maybe go farther, Maybe limit it to just a few (what was it on the old servers to start with per server?) with a way of unlocking more slots. Perhaps every time you get one character to level 50 you are awarded one more slot? Maybe some other in-game accomplishments (every 500 million inf spent in icon? Every 20 or 30 days of time spent in-game?) would open more. Then the problem becomes that squatters are creating hundreds of accounts just to squat, even if just to grief certain people or prevent popular names from being used. How to prevent that I don't know... Nothing like that would be necessary on private shards with limited access and smaller population, but it's going to be a problem here and I don't look forward to everyone I see in the game in a year having names that look like chat handles or doctored up with brackets and crap.
  8. The existing i25 values were apparently adjusted to fit a population of merely hundreds. I would expect every server going forward will need to put their own math wizard on the task of balancing such things relative to their unique population. With a public server that is free to play with unlimited account creation we'd probably see values close to what was on the old servers once it all balances out. I'd just hope there's some way of preventing the kind of inflation that plagued us then. I wonder too if people trading in-game items and currency for cash will be a thing again.
