  1. Is...is this not how it happened historically? Everything i know is a lie!!!
  2. I tried Regen on a Scrapper and it is lackluster at best. I keep hearing Sentinel Regen is the best version (though maybe it's still not good). Educate me on the powers to skip, slotting, power pools to help or other tips. I have almost zero experience with Sentinels so I don't have a primary in mind or anything yet. Thanks!
  3. I am currently doing this on a Stone Tanker. One build is only focused on using Granite Armor, the other is focusing on using the other armor toggles. You can have both in one build, but you have to take slots away from your offense to do so. And yes, the macro makes it easy to switch builds (though there is a short cooldown...I think it's 1 min?).
  4. Also-rans: Savage/Stone Group A: DM/Invul Group B: War Mace/Energy Aura Forever Scrapper: War Mace/Energy Aura
  5. I don't think you can go wrong with the three you mentioned. Those are widely regarded as some of the top secondaries for Scrappers (in some order). Let your concept guide you. You generally get more out of defense-based secondaries on Scrappers (with their lower resist caps) so any of the 3 are great. Shield and SR have click status protection, EA has it in a toggle. EA has some great utility, with a Heal, End refill, stealth and +Recharge. EA has a PSI defense hole, whereas you can soft-cap all positional defenses with Shield and SR. Shield has a great AoE attack and a +Dmg aura. SR has +Recharge, the best defense debuff resistance (to prevent the cascading failures), typically does not require as many slots to soft-cap defenses and can mature very early.
  6. Brute. I do not believe the enhanced crit will apply to damage auras, but the Fury mechanic definitely DOES affect the damage auras.
  7. Time to roll another Scrapper! I was going to go DM/SR but I think I might try Ice Armor instead, as I have little experience with this set and it looks like it has some fun utility. With the new update on the horizon, it looks like we're going to have to try to do more than just softcap S/L/E defense and/or resistance. It looks like all of the powers are worth taking (which is fine) but which ones need heavy slotting versus a single slot? Wet Ice for example looks like a one-slot wonder (if the defense numbers in Mid are correct). The T9 is probably a one-shot wonder best used for those "oh shit" moments as well. I am looking for some feedback in how folks are building and slotting Ice Armor to softcap as many defense types as possible. Or, I guess the other option is get as many of them to 40%, then use Barrier for the final 5%. From looking at base numbers, S/L/E/N defense looks doable to softcap, but F/C/P defense might be a long-shot. Does anyone have good advice on slotting Ice?
  8. For the eight that made the cut: Claws and War Mace both want Recharge. Claws/SR is a classic combo; War Mace/Energy Aura so you can be strong and pretty. Dark Melee/Invul is a great pairing as DM’s -To Hit works beautifully with Invul and you also get a heal. Katana/Ninjitsu – Another classic and thematic pairing. Martial Arts/Shield Defense – You can choose some punch animations for some of the MA attacks, so this gives you a real Captain America vibe when fighting. Energy Melee/Bio – Just a single target powerhouse with passable AoE. You will get some truly ridiculous damage. Dual Blades/Rad Armor – Rad gives you a little bit of everything and let’s you play DB how you want (whether combo-focused or non-combo). Staff Fighting/Dark Armor – These were the two left over. I have not tried Staff, but I think it provides some End relief in one of its stances, which is of great help to DA, which can be very End-hungry until you IO it out. DA is an amazing resist set! For the also-rans: Savage Melee/Fiery Aura – This would be better as a Brute, since the DoTs are not affected by a Scrapper’s improved crit. Lots of numbers flying everywhere. Rad Melee/Stone Armor – Also better as a Brute due to the DoTs and again, lots of numbers flying everywhere with two damage auras. Stone Melee/Elec Armor – Stone Melee is end hungry and Elec helps offset that. Street Justice/Ice Armor – That’s what was left over (I don’t have much experience with either). Global: TungstenShark
  9. If you get around to trying it...you may prefer to try this on a Brute. The Scrappers crit abilities do not affect the DOTs from the set but Brute's Fury mechanic DOES.
  10. Yes, this was what I referring to, thanks. I could not remember the specific details. I think it only happened with some Interface options and not all, right? At any rate, good to know this has been fixed. Thanks all!
  11. I have not Incarnated a toon in quite awhile, but working on my DM/EnA Scrapper. Options like Reactive and Paralytic look fun to play with, but as I recall, some of the Interface options do not really work and I cannot remember the details. For Scrappers is it just Degenerative or bust?
  12. Or, you know...you could both stop arguing about it and move to something more constructive and beneficial. Just saying...it's a possibility. You both have considerable knowledge to share...this seems a something-less-than-good waste of time and experience.
  13. Just a small point...the Impervium Armor: Psi Resist enhancement is NOT unique so you can slot up to 5 of them. Not saying you should, but you can. 🙂
  14. Another vote for Energy Aura or Shield, whose virtues have already been sung by others above and are spot-on. Super Reflexes is a great set that matures early without a huge investment. Stone should get more love as well (non-Granite version), but I understand the lack of Taunt aura really bothers some. But outside of that, it is a really solid set. Ice deserves a look as another primarily Defensive set that probably won't get enough love in the voting. Bio has to be mentioned for the extra damage it enables even if it can be a little squishier than others. And Rad is a great set that you can balance pretty well and lets you do fun things. Energy Aura would be my #1 with Shield solidly at #2. The rest would probably be more based on character concept and personal preference. @TungstenShark
  15. Claws is going to get a ton of love (and rightfully so) as a fast blender. Katana is a wonderful set as well, with fast, smooth, hard-hitting attacks. Dark Melee provides the great -to hit debuff utility and a heal. I love War Mace for the simple attack chains you can manage (with enough recharge) with heavy, crunchy attacks. And Energy Melee is the premier single-target monster with passable AoE. Those would be my top 5 in some order. I know you aren't there yet, but defensively as a Scrapper, you will get much more mileage out of a Defense set when he time comes due to lower hitpoints and lower resist caps. Super Reflexes, Shield and Energy Aura are all amazing choices in that regard, but not the only options - just the ones I enjoy most. @TungstenShark
  16. Thanks! Your build is very fine-tuned for the highest level of content. Really impressive work!
  17. /proceeds to argue with said requested critique So...you really just want someone to agree with you then? SC is most definitely an opener into a group so it's recharging to be used again soon. It is not going to immediately cause a group to flee.
  18. Thanks @Topography, impressive video! Do you have a Mids build to review?
  19. So I want to try a melee-centric version of a Dominator and like the crunchy goodness of Earth Assault. Earth Control seems to have a lot of good control powers, so seems like a good pairing. I am trying to work on a build now and have some general questions about the combo as I can already tell slots will be hard to come by. The goal is to try and softcap S/L/E defenses. Earth Control - what powers are skippable? At the moment I am skipping Stone Prison and Salt Crystals. Earth Assault - what powers are skippable? I was never a fan of Hurl Boulder on the melee AT versions of Earth (animation is too long and I prefer to be melee anyway), but the others all look good. Do I need both Mallet attacks? Is the first auto-pick (Stone Spears) worth slotting? ATOs - I am thinking of putting Ascendency into Stalagmites but unsure where best to put Dominating Grasp, currently in Volcanic Gasses. Epic Pool - I am leaning toward Mace for Scorpion Shield and Poison Ray (one-slotted with Achilles for single hard targets). I could see Ice being useful for Sleet as well. Any feedback? Any other general help or tips people have to share on the combo are always appreciated as well. Here is my work in progress build. 20. Great look! What options are you using on the head? I cannot seem to figure out the specific combo.
