  1. I've been running this as well, started it two days ago. I have made some tweaks, because I also do some AH stuff and can cannibalize a few test builds that didn't pan out for enhancements, but otherwise I've been following allowing and the journey has been pretty smooth.
  2. I have fond memories of my first toon, which was a willpower brute. It was a simpler time, with a bunch of toggles and just swinging away. I think I need to make a willpower brute, except not go with energy melee.
  3. I consider myself pretty good at the video games and I kind of want to try some of these builds.
  4. Oh, these are some really interesting answers, especially the shield tanker and the arachnos archetypes. I know some people can find tanking really stressful, so that didn't pop into mind, but I could see that working pretty well. As for the arachnos soldier and widow, I didn't know they had that many team buffs.
  5. So, have a bunch of friends who play CoX for a variety of reasons. One of them mostly just RPs because they claim to be terrible at video games. Having never seen them play CoX, I don't know how bad they really are and they're probably exaggerating, but it did get me thinking on what would be the easiest team-focused build to play for someone who is 'terrible' at video games while still being effective. Gut instinct for me says something buff focused, like a Time Defender. Chrono shift and farsight great PBAoE team buffs, temporal mending is a PBAoE heal, distortion field and time stop are good CC you can just slap down in an area. And if they're feeling really motivated, they can temporal selection their allies. Another one I think would do well is a Kinetics defender, because fucking kinetics. I feel it's more active than Time, but if you were only focused on buffs, it wouldn't get that hectic. But that's just gut instinct, and there are plenty of people here that know way more than I ever will about CoX and builds. I'm not necessarily looking for slotted out builds, this is more of a fun thought exercise, though it would be interesting to see what powers people would take.
  6. Yea, I think I'll go with Sovera's Claw/Bio build in the end. Thanks everyone!
  7. I've heard that Fiery Aura was a little lackluster in general content, is that the case? My priority is general content over farming, I should have mentioned that first, my apologies.
  8. I'm looking for some advice on building a brute for both general content and farming. Claw seems like a pretty good primary for both, but I'm stuck on picking a secondary and power selection. I hear Bio is a pretty good secondary for both general and farming, but are there any other secondaries that can give me a high performance in both? Also, any advice on power selection? As for the IO selection part of the build, soft-capping my defences is my first goal right? In the case of Bio, I'd be going for Smashing/Lethal defence soft cap for S/L farming right?
  9. In regards to the binds, I threw them into a bind file for easy loading, but it didn't seem like they were working. It's fine if I copy-paste them directly into the chat bar, but they won't load properly from a file, even though I do get the message saying the file itself loaded just fine. Is there a different syntax for bind files that I'm not aware of?
  10. Well, since no one appears to disagree, rocking Fire/Kin it is.
  11. With a Rad/TW Tanker almost finished, and a Time/DP Defender in the works, I'm looking for a build that will help me and others melt enemies. Corruptors look to me like the best of both worlds on that front, and I like the pure DPS of Fire. Where I'm stuck at is secondary, and I'm debating between Kinetics and Radiation Emission. Kinetics has Speed Boost and Fulcrum Shift, which are very appealing, while Radiation Emission has Accelerated Metabolism and the three toggle debuffs. In terms of telling mobs and AVs to go fuck themselves, which would you recommend between the two?
  12. True, and while I like Hover for getting around a map, Mystic Flight does the job too and it's not like it's that end heavy in a build like this.
  13. Oh, that's a toughie, because I also don't want to lose the global recharge from the slotted Hover. Hmm, gotta think hard on it.
  14. So, I'm thinking of remaking my Time/Fire Defender into a Time/Pistol one, as Fire really wasn't doing it for me. Going for the purple IO build, but I had a question: is it necessary to take Time Crawl? Can I skip it for Fly?
  15. My first attempt at a Rad/TW build, aiming for getting my resists as high as possible, while having alright global recharge and what looks to be decent damage slotting. The only resists not at 90 are Negative and Cold, which are at 75 and 72 respectively. One super major downside to this build is that the defenses are ass. Hasten also only has one slot in it, the recharge is long. Anyways, I'm trying to figure out anyways I can improve on it without sacrificing the resists or global recharge.
