  1. Wantibg to make a Psi melee with flight and Force of will attacks. Mostly for theme/concept in my brain. As title states what secondary and AT do you prefer most with Psi and why?
  2. It's late and I'm looking at some funny MM toon ideas. Read about petless MMs. So could be all whips like dominatrix. Or a boy raised by wolves who only uses beast mode and his momma wolf follows him and fights with him and brings along his other forest friends. Could be an Asian HS student who is failing all classes and sucks at piano and suffers emotional damage. Summons his ancestor, ONI and runs around singing Moni ONI ONI. What would be your most ridiculous backstrories or concept for petless or T3 pet only MM. Something that might actually be decent also and not totally suck in game.
  3. Not sure if anyone has an answer. I'm running on a Windows 7 pro Laptop. Since Homecoming began while in game I was able to hit windows button on laptop that would allow me access to start menu/taskbar. So I could see other windows such as mids and chrome. Now for some reason it won't show up, though the game "pauses" as if it were. Not sure if this is a computer issue or game setting issue. It was only after one of the recent patches this began.
  4. I like Sentinels. I suck at building characters currently and I suffer from severe altitis. I mostly play characters for theme and fun, so whatever AT fits into with. The less damage for Sentinels doesn't bother me when you get mezz protection and more survivability with armors. I don't hate blasters but I do struggle with them myself. Never understood the glass cannon blapper melee play style CoX and HC pushes with them. I have a couple I play and they are good(Icex3 and beam/devices). Very high risk/high reward butt puckering floor eating debt badge getting hospital visiting rezz needing run away again AT. I like Sentinels for range and armor and less attacks to have to manage and choose from. A more relaxed play style and feel for me. And I do like the variety of powers in Epoc sets that can add a uniqueness to each Sentinel. I will say that I DO NOT like how some blast sets have melee nukes, on any AT. It's one of my biggest gripes/pet peeves with CoX. For me it F's up character themes/RP and gameplay to force you into melee. And on sets like Dark or Sonic that are cone heavy I really don't like them. Rant over. For the sentinel bashers and naysayers I don't care and many others don't as well. Stop your damn whining and stop trying to force your likes and dislikes on everyone else . It's all about Fun. Being a game and all you know. Play what you like, offer constructive criticism, state your opinion and realize it's just that, YOUR opinion. And again, it's a game so have fun.
  5. Running a beam/dev, lvl 34, basic IO slotted only. I have SS/CJ/SJ, Tough/Weave, Field Op. Was running arc from Brickstown/Crey's Folly and with Freakshow and Crey I am having a bit of a struggle with getting mezzed (Held, Slept, Immobilized specifically) What can I do? I know once you start slotting sets you can build up mezz protection. I chose blaster b/c of Highter dmg and target cap, but wondering if a Beam/Traps would have been better. Didnt want to run Sentinel for beam. TIA
  6. Figured I'd throw in my 2 cents on this new powerset. Overall I like the feel of the set as a whole. It has a very "smashy" and "crunchy" feel to it likend to Stone Melee/Assault. I am of the opinion that all blast sets do not need to be copies of each other and that each of the elements/weapons should have a different feel and flavor to them. In that regard I think you succeeded fairly well. That being said I have a few thoughts of what I'd like to see changed or tweaked. First off I would add alternate animations for those that do not like the ground up shards. Probably would look like throwing boulders/rocks as I've seen other in here suggest. Also as was stated I would give alternate animation to Rock Shards. Again as was stated earlier in this post, maybe similar to energy torrent. Next I was not happy with all the Light damage attacks. I feel with Earth/rocks we should have highter dmg attacks.. I've never been a fan personally of blast sets with light/minor dmg attacks. Add to that, I like the -DEF available to attacks, but I would like to see a unique mechanic to this Blast set for all attacks with either Chance to Dissorent / Knockdown on every attack. Seems fitting for element type. I'm not a fan personally of the seismic waves effect. I never got any use for it as I played the set as ranged as possible. I would like it more if it had an effect as the more targets you hit or the more attacks you used it would build up stroanger waves around you while in combat. Kind of akin to Brute fury that they waves would decrease in effect after some time or after ending combat. Upthrust seemed to have a delay in the animatin on my character to when it actually hit the targets. Would like to see it be a bit smoother and quicker. I am not a fan of the Nuke. As i've 50'd and Ice blaster, I'm ok with a different kind of Nuke but I feel like it was way to long and I did not like the Auto KB. Would rather see it be a type of rain power or possibly like earth control stalagmites, with shards repeatedly shooting out of area in ground akin to a rain power with a Hight change to Dissorient or KD. I would like the single target Stalagmite to just be a High Dmg Power. And I am not a fan of this power, or earth control stalagmites, being a ground only power. I would like an alternate animation if not on ground so you could use it while flying. This is sometihng that has bothered me personally as I would love to have a Flying Earth/Storm toon. And I feel would be a great QOL improvement. For theme/RP purposes why would this not fit with these powers not being ground based. For the aim, Siesmic Force, I would make it more like Water blast with Tidal Forces. Have a choice between a secondary effect or higher dmg for Rock Shards / Upthrust. Auto KD. HIgher -DEF. I dont like the option the have and aim power recharge in half time. Never had any use for it myself. As stated before I like the set overall. And am looking forward to Live release so I can further feed into my altitis. IMHO the 2 main changes I would love to see are to fix Stalagmite to High dmg always and not ground based, and change the Nuke.
  7. Can anyone elaborate on the number difference between defenders and corruptors for Dark. Seems Dark might get better debuff numbers for Def but Water would benefit from scourge. Any thoughts on what AT you'd run this combo on and why? I know they both could perform well and be fun.
  8. Couple of questions about the set.. 1. The stealth power, how exactly does it work, how much stealth you get, and how does it compare to Pool Power Stealth? Will it stack with celerity? 2. Has anyone taken Blinding powder? Wondering it's usefulness with coersive persuasion set. Could see alot of use and rp potential if it actually confuses on use often. 3. Curious about overall survivability. Any issues with lower DDR values? Would you need/want Fighting pool? TIA
  9. Check out the thunderspy server, they have both wind and water control sets on controller and doms, a whips/sword Dom assault set, and Illusion as a Dom primary. Options are out there to update the game with powers and costume sets. I wouldn't expect to see any of these on homecoming anytime soon, though IMO it would be an awesome addition. I have played on that server and all those sets are as awesome as you'd expect. Would love to see them on here for sure.
  10. Making a Robot MM and have a question... On a normal flying toon with the changes I'd take fly, hover, and evasive manuvers. If I want group fly for bots would it be best to skip just fly? What do you all choose?
  11. Decided it was time to make a TW boy. Looking for any advice or input on secondaries as I've seen a few be chosen. The OP choice seems to be Bio. Is this mainly for adaptation to boost damage? It has a lot of good powers and the -regen seems great. Is this an endgame set/build to where you need IO sets to build it out to be OP? I've also seen plenty of WP, Energy, and Dark builds. So i am a bit lost. What exactly is the goal from secondary besides survival? End management? I've heard it's pretty thirsty set. Moar damage? Can anyone give me a bit of direction as I know many sets would work well and be a good choice. What would be pros/cons to different sets. What is your preference? Last note I opted for scrapper to get some sweet damage and crits so am I less concerned with survival and more about killing fast? Thanks My Dudes
  12. This is what I just rolled for another blaster alt. Dual tenticles, umbral torrent, and night fall. Ranged cone domination. I went temporal as secondary with mine. Now just need to lvl him up.

  14. Planning out an Illusion alt and after reading many posts have some questions. I'm looking for anyone to share what secondary you chose, if you even bother to and how you set up containment(is it necessary or possible), what is your personal playstyle solo vs team (power set up/rotation for ST vs groups), what is your invis preference and why. Looking for a quick Illusion 101 for dummies and not looking for builds as there are plenty out there.
  15. Can you explain how you play I'll/time? With PA, spectral, distortion field, etc what is your playstyle? And how does times juncture work with SI? Are you still hidden?
  16. Need some info on how to actually build a character. Pretty much could use build 101 and IOs for dummies. After reading many posts in the forums I feel I have a good understanding of power selection and IO slotting for specific goals for each character but...when it comes to actually doing it in game I'm a bit lost. Looking for anyone who can help me make sense of where to buy enhancements/recipes, what is the difference between AH vs merit vendor, crafted vs attuned vs purple vs pvp vs AT enhancements. At what lvl can you start building a character? Around 22-25 I usually slot basic IOs and some random enhancements like KB-KD. I'm also confused with some enhancements as to influence vs merits and how do you earn them to have a completed build. I have read some post where players talk of IO ing out a character way earlier than 50. And I have many stalled alts in the 30s due to not being fully satisfied with the build or unsure what direction to take them. If you pick up what I'm saying then any help would be most appreciated.
  17. Have tried to get into melee ATs and haven't fully got there yet. I have read alot about different primaries and see alot of talk about Fury and what primary works best. Can anyone learn me about how best to play brutes. How to maximize fury and what primaries synergize best. Im still lost a bit on what roll a brute plays. As tanks are well...tanks holding aggro and can be built for dps. Scrappers do high dmg and crits. Stalkers have hide and good mechanics for great ST, crits and less aoe. I know these are generalizations of each AT, but brutes seem to elude my brain as to how to play to their strengths with the fury mechanic and being able to go more tank or dps and more ST or aoe. Can anyone break down this AT for me?
  18. Have LVL 50 Icex3 mostly range blaster that I love. But now is time for blapper mc blapface. So:: I Need help deciding between Sonic, Time, Electric or Mental. Can you share pro/con and what is your preference and why? Have theme in mind that would fit all of them concept wise. And I can't decide ATM. They all seem to have good synergy. I want as non squishy blapper I can get. Want to be in melee, right up in their grills, crushing their hopes and dreams with my shear awesomeness of blastering. Any input and advice and builds is greatly appreciated my fellow blaster kin.
  19. I have wondered this exact same thing myself. If you take a look on COH Thunderspy server they allow buff sets (ie FF, Thermal, Cold, Sonic) which have buff shields to apply the main % buff to other players. And it applies half the % amount upon the caster. So you can actually use them and not IMO, waste power picks. Its a great Idea to me. I dont see that it would OP these characters at all. I actually find it a great mechanic and great for RP purposes. IMO for those sets it allows for another very unique mechanic and playstyle. Why cant a FF bubbler put bubbles on themselves as OP stated other than PFF where you cant attack with it on? Personally I have not played many of these sets for this exact reason. So this is my 2 cents of input to ask the GMs to PLEASE look into this change.
  20. Illusion noob planning my build. Still debating in my head what secondary I want to go with (reading forums presents to many good options). But I'm mostly set on taking superior invisibility for personal reasons. Question is :: what other stealth powers can you run with it? IE: group invis, shadow fall, fade, steamy mist, artic fog. What can run in tandem with superior invis? Are any of these options better than superior invis for def/res they provide? And will powers like Super speed or sprint with celerity add additional benefit? Or are they overkill redundant and not necessary. What are pros/cons of each power? What if any can effect pets? And What do you personally prefer and why? Thanks in advance for helping an atl-a-holic noob out.
  21. I would like to see a couple powers in Mind Control get an update. But as for mass hypnosis, why not make it a pulsing sleep, like static field in electric. Or make it an aoe disorient. Something to give it more value and help mind players out with aoe control.

  23. Oh man. Didn't mean to cause trouble with my noob questions.. I actually thought you went Invis so you would also have the better stealth option along with Def. Sounded cool to me. I like how your thought works on slotting them though. Im a noob who sucks at builds and has severe alt itis. So you've given me some ideas to float around my head about builds.
  24. Nice build my dude. Can you elaborate on the Stealth/Invis thought. You use Stealth only as Mule and Run Invis for the DEF. So i'm guessing Invis only loses the standard/un slotted DEF in combat? Why is it not better to use Stealth then if it keeps half its DEF value in combat? Is that a personal choice or made due to slotting restraints?
  25. I would like to thank Camel for once again feeding my alt-itis. I was casually reading through the forums while I was #2 ing and then BOOM... now I realize I need some CRUNCH in my life. I feel a void in me that needs to be filled. How much Inf will I be a spending on this one?
