  1. Awesome, but...how do you find a team? 😉
  2. Big pulp, dieselpunk, and radio hero fan here. So two concepts are my dreams. Sadly, only one stands a chance at seeing the light of day. 1. The inspiration: A 1990s comic mini-series had Doc Savage and his crew investigating sinister goings on in 1930s New York City. They bump into The Shadow and his minions investigating the same trouble. An uneasy alliance emerges between the leaders, though their allies are easier going. It's a Superman/Batman kind of dynamic. Savage is the light, the golden boy, the hero who will not knowingly kill, and works out in the open. The Shadow is everything opposite. Now my dream: Expand on that, and create a Radio/Pulp/Dieselpunk Movie Universe. Have introductory movies and then crossovers with Doc Savage, The Shadow, Green Hornet & Kato, The Spider, The Phantom, etc. all ticking down to an Avengers-type movie. This would effectively reboot all the characters movies except The Spider, whom I don't think received one. Bonus if they give solid, balanced parts to Doc's adventurous cousin Patricia Savage, Phantom's feisty wife Diana, and The Shadow's right hand, Margo Lane. 2. Inspiration - based on a concept used by NOW Comics in the 1990s, have a trilogy of movies showing that the Green Hornet & Kato are not just 1 team, but generations of two families woven together, originating with the 1930s-40s GH&K (the radio pair). (Actually originating even further back, but more on that in a moment.) In the comics, the TV GH&K were the second generation, with Britt Reid II being named for his uncle, and Bruce Lee's Kato being the son of the original Kato, who is now the head of a major Japanese tech conglomerate named Kato (seed funded by OG GH's wealth after WWII). It is the Katos who provide all the technology the team uses through their company holdings. The comics introduced a third generation, with two GH's, brothers, and the first female Kato, the much younger half-sister of TV Kato. The series introduced multiple deaths into the Reid-Kato dynamic, and at least one wedding between the families. Oh, and the real origin? The Lone Ranger. He was Britt Reid I's uncle, and it was his silver mine that founded the family fortune. Both characters were created and tied by the same creator. The dream: The Green Hornet & Kato: Generations - an updating of the concepts in NOW comics. Radio GH&K are deceased, and TV GH&K are the aged patriarchs, with new generations being introduced. Positive result: rebooting the franchise while respecting what went before. Bonus if we get a Lone Ranger & Tonto tie-in.
  3. I choose you Hordling Lasher! Purely pet battles. You know you want to. 😉
  4. Had to go look for it after reading this thread. No idea what was going on, but it strongly reminded me of a time years ago when I saw some early A.I. trying to learn to compose meaningful conversation. Not knocking any human who may have been writing it, just observing the similarity.
  5. Now you have me thinking Brosnan would make a fantastic Quartermain in a well-written reboot of LXG.
  6. I was right! It is an 80s merchandizing cartoon character! Now with Void Skiff action!
  7. Something just occurred to me, and it might just be a big, ol' plot hole in episode 4:
  8. First thought would be whether the slot is still bound to the level it was picked. I think I read there were changes to that, but just being cautious. I know I could wish for a fine tuning rather than a dramatic overhaul. One alternate suggestion to acquiring them would be to have the player still participate in one of the respec missions, but be given a rewards choice upon completion. Say either 1 full respec, or 10 slot unslotters. Actually "repositioner" might be a better term than "unslotter", since the game would choke if you tried to exit the process without putting the slot down into some power somewhere.
  9. Like @GM Crumpet I'm one of those who cannot play 1st person games without getting ridiculously nauseous due to the eye/inner ear disconnect. I'm not affected by hurricane or any other swirly power, though I do remember back on live when color proliferation became a thing, I was getting headaches because it seemed everyone wanted the brightest, most saturated colors possible. All that to say: I can relate. I'm late to the thread and previously never realized hurricane was affecting people. I do use it a lot with my ill/storm controller, and wish to continue that. I see that some have commented that a change in color seems to moderate the issue. If that is accurate, then that sounds like something that I, as a neighborly teammate can help moderate. I've got a truckload of unused costume slots. If someone figures out what colors mute the problem, and will let us know, I'll gladly use one of those costume slots to create an identical look but with the muted colors on any powers that cause issues. Then it would be just a matter of asking the team up front if someone will privately message me if they have a nausea problem with hurricane. When I get an affirmative, I just switch over to the alternate costume, and switch back to my preferred costume when my teammate and I part. It may not solve everything, since there may be multiple components to the issue most of which is dev territory, but why not be neighborly and a part of the solution?
  10. That may be because we've not really seen his vulnerability after he becomes Black Adam, that which would keep a super-powered character interesting. I really think we've not seen the bad guy in the story yet. We've seen technological opponents, which don't really strike me as a serious threat, except perhaps a swarming effect since he's only in one spot at any time. Both Fate and Black Adam are magic wielders, so I suspect the ultimate baddie will likewise wield magic, and that might reveal Black Adam's vulnerability. I do know from other sources that one emotional vulnerability that he has is his love for Kandahar, and I think that's what were seeing in the moment the speed bikes are racing away from a cliff with a city and a statue up top.
  11. Seems suggestively obvious to me. They're going to pull an Episode VII move...
  12. If Scorpion King was your last look at the Rock, no wonder you feel the way you do.
  13. If anything, its the other way around. Doctor Fate first appeared in 1940 whereas Doctor Strange appeared in 1963, but I'm sure you meant the movies. I won't say someone didn't draw inspiration from Benedictine Cumberbund's performance, but I'm guessing we'll see Doctor Fate can be a lot colder in personality than Doctor Strange, at least when the helmet is on. When it is off, we'll see Kent Nelson, and what little I know of him suggest the character will be a more pleasant person. The story is likely a journey to hero story. Black Adam has been portrayed as everything from villain to anti-hero, and I suspect that's the path he'll take, but starting in his mortal life before the Shazam. I suspect the high tech craft you see are off-world in nature, rather than future time. Assuming they've not cut loose all that has happened before, we've already seen invasions by Kryptonians and Apokalypse, so why not another. Shoot, this may be DC's version of Spiderman: Homecoming, with Earthers retro-engineering alien tech left behind.
  14. I'm intrigued. I didn't expect to see Hawkman, and certainly not Atom Smasher. Looks like Pierce is going to own his scenes as Doctor Fate. I don't see everything the Rock is in, but when I watch something, he always seems to come across as the loveable, wisecracking, goofball strongman. I've been hoping to see him in this role as the intense, unrelenting, rarely-humored anti-hero. Hey, is this going to be the Egyptian-origin Hawkman or the Thanagarian-origin Hawkman? I suppose Egyptian-origin makes better sense when you're doing the Kandahar story, though I prefer the Thanagarian.
  15. Okay, did some digging, and it appears that in the earliest stages of the game that would become Fallen Order, it was not canon. But that quickly changed in the development phase. Additionally, the sequel to the game, which is being called Jedi: Survivor is canon according to reports I've read. Since it relies on the previous work, the previous work must be canon.
  16. Hmm...first I've heard of it. I'll do some digging.
  17. This episode had a LOT of references to other Star Wars works. The Fallen Order one was just the most obvious one. He already is. The game is considered canon. Make him live action...aye, that's what we want to see.
  18. That's actually a good idea. I'm not sure we have much, if anything, in the way of staff attack NPCs. (Of course, I don't play redside much so they may all be over there)
  19. Would you settle for Recluse and the Patrons (totally a 60s band) summoned to lick your boots every 12 hours?
  20. It's the zoning that clears it? Not just being in Oroboros? I ask because one of those long waits occurred within Oro. It's not ideal, but sounds like I could zone to one of the Echos and back quickly then craft and slot.
  21. perhaps a variety to their attacks? Electrical and sonic, shooting cog throwing stars from their upturned wrists, belching stun gas (probably using the Vahz vomit animation), etc.
  22. Which is why I'd now like to suggest destructible walls. 😉 Let's see...some other suggestions I'd suggested: 1. A visual in the character load screen to immediately tell me which 50s have unlocked which Incarnate slots so far. Helps with knowing what to work on next, or which character to run with if certain conditions are needed like level 2 or 3. The visual I used: 2. Adding descriptions to the P2W vendor's wares. At the time I was hoping for descriptions that would clarify the differences between choices Renewal of Light and Return To Battle, though comments in the thread suggested expanding descriptions for other wares as well. 3. Tagging with an overhead marker or other visible sign the designated guide that a rescuee has latched on to. It should help in the confusion of battle or caves to know who needs to lead them out, or to whom they've latched on to if they drop connection to another player. 4. Making Giant Monsters immune from police drones. No kill steals from the NPCs!
  23. @Coyotedancer, @Redletter those are some mighty fine pictures! These two really impressed:
  24. That's actually something the Nemesis army needs: female characters. That is, unless the old Prussian is completely misogynistic, and not just mentally messing with Lady Grey, which...bad guy...so... Are they low-level hover, or truly aerial, though? And ranged? I genuinely don't know. If there's something that can attack at the edge of ranged attacks from a few stories up, I'll grant you that solution. I always thought the Nem War Horse operated at a level akin to a large draft horse, though. Good for avoiding knockbacks, but not necessarily for high altitude. Addressing in order: 1. You're absolutely correct. I should have said steampunk, rather than clockwork. I just had cogs on the brain, I guess. Steampunk can incorporate clockwork, but is so much more. 2. Let me give it some thought. I'm usually pretty good at idea-crafting. Watch this thread. 3. Lamenting: I don't really see that as a problem. Let's be realistic: though we'd love to see completely new never-before-seen material, our dev crew volunteers (bless them) and it is far more practical to reconfigure components already in the game to perform in different ways. So combining Paladin, Ghost Ship, and Sky Raiders is a practical solution. Theoretically. Now to see it in action. Hmm...you've got me mulling over things trying to think of one mobile item I don't slide off of. Regardless, could the game be tricked? For example, we've spots in zones that function differently depending on what part in your story is being covered. Like Aaron Thiery being in his spot or not. I don't recall what the name of that kind of game mechanic is, but as I understand it, two natures occupy the same space. (I first encountered the technology over in WoW when the Death Knight starting zone was introduced.) Could that be applied to a battleship or other large warcraft? Build it so from a technical standpoint its decks function like land, but the entire "land" is being moved through the harbor, the end effect being that it appears to be a temporary, moving ship that you can land upon and fight it out. Don't we have these already? The humanoid automatons that look like civilians? Granted, they don't show up in the Nemesis invasions. I don't recall the nature of their attacks either, though I know some used the Nemesis guns. Electrical attacks sound fitting. That's just a really awesome concept.
