  1. I'm not crazy about the Repel either. These powers were Unique when game first came out.. First of its kind.. No one was going to complain back them. Fresh idea.. Today we know you would get kicked from a team for using hurricane on standard mobs regardless. AV yea because they just won't get pushed back. Make it a combine IO EG the Turn off Repel IO just does that.. But if you combine with another set IO it get added to that Set IO as another bonus. Make where you can only add it to the first IO of each set. Example Knockback IOs it would be Damage/Knockback excluding sudden acceleration which would be Knockback/Recharge Hit Debuff IOs it would be just Debuff. This way they would just have to create 1 new IO in each set.. Damage/Knockback/Repel Off Knocback/Recharge/Repel Off Hit Debuff/Repel Off

  3. Having a BUNCH of DP toons from all different archtypes I can say anyone you pick is going to be good..
  4. just reworked one of the builds. With the endurance bonuses from health IOs you should be fine endurance wise.. Venomous Gas hit debuff will put you over all the defense caps.. Hail of bullets isn't going to get much recharge on it..   10. I thought it worked well with the added proc in it. I do like the way it looks. I recall playing with someone call the Green Emerald on an ITF I had to commend them on the looks it was pretty great..

  13. I oddly noticed they were just hitting a bit more. I think also because you can pick a lesser target you can get more reliability on the hits. I just felt like a faster mission run on my Whip Kin.. I have saved missing I farm.
  14. I have a DP Device and I EXTREMELY HATED the Gun Drone issue with a passion. Having an AR | Device HoverBlaster I didn't realize the aggro issue. Gun Drone was very useful as a HoverBlaster but on the ground it became totally useless. It would Spawn.. Aggro.. Explode.. You could build all the aggro you wanted this sucker would peel it right off you for the 2 to 3 seconds it was around.. But today.. Super great.. Oddly enough with Burnout I have pulling out 3 gun drones now.. Which is UTRA COOL
  15. Just saying this for what it is worth. I notice that my Demon (whip) / Kin mastermind is doing a bit better with the changes.. Less endurance issues and getting less misses on kin powers. Just a better overall feel.

  17. Use Darkir build below.. I think its the most max kin build you can get.. The great thing is the base kin build works with all archtypes..
  18. I have tons of Device toons.. Device is great.. You can defense cap with just about SO's in the 30s.. It is a great solo set.. AR damage isn't the best because of the damage type.. But again having several AR toons I can solo 3/8 with on issue on my AR Device.. I also have a AR Traps defender at defense cap as well But the difference is the damage output compared to my AR Device is lacking.. Nutshell here is a Sonic Traps at defense cap.. Swap out seeker drones for triage beacon.. I just disagree that AR sucks or Traps sucks. Robot Traps was the first tankermind build.. Its in my signature..   20. Wow the stuff I stir up.. Played COX from opening until close. Same screen name on the old forums via wayback machine. I get game mechanics. I leverage it to create a bunch of petless masterminds that can solo 3/8 setting.. Yea I know slower kill rate.. My point is I know enough about the game mechanics to leverage them to create builds as well. I farm. I am aware of using nukes on hami. I am aware that it was done in the past this way. You can find guides on Hami raids ( and all versions ) of doing it via again wayback machine. The Poster of the 8 man Hami did not mention using nukes. The video is not available to review. End result the impression you get without looking at a video and from his post is basically it was just done with 8 players and no extra gimmicks. I didn't recall 8 players just doing without any gimmicks either. Meaning just through normal player builds even when maxed. If I knew nukes were used I would be less then impressed knowing someone else had done it already and the data was already there to be copied. So again the impression I got was it was 8 maxed stat players going in with T4 incarnates and kicking ass.
  21. Just wondering what the Devs think of an 8 player team defeating Hami ? Its clear that something is over powered to give them this ability that is usually requires more players. It's clear that IO sets and Incarnate can be a bit overpowering

  23. Not insulting the original developers. Technology was different back then. Example Storage is cheap today, back then it wasn't. I think the developers were working with what they had. I think today's developers for HC are just much smarter. Technology has moved forward so has coding or how games are coded. Even running a firewall back then is much more complex then it is today and all you had was a device that was a firewall and nothing else. Again unlike today when the device can be used as a firewall, IPS an IDS.. ETC or a combo of both. I believe HC dev's are doing what would be expected today if they were working for Cryptic on COH. I think the devs today are much smarter. I can see on some of the post when they talk about powers or coding it is like they want to say "You wouldn't believe WTF we are seeing.. You would not believe how F**Kup this code is.. How they missed some simple mistakes." But instead want to be polite and say we seen some mistakes and we fixed it. I think somethings today in this time do not make sense as they might have many years ago. Capes is one of those things. What is so magical about a cape that you need to do a mission to unlock them ? It should have been just another part of the costume. What they could have done is missions to unlock UNIQUE costume parts. But again I think that is just how games have evolved. The costume creator for COH was unique back then. Warcraft did not have transmog ( Transmog came with patch 4.3 in 2011, Googled it ) back then. But today again technology improved.. Graphics improved.. So many games now have costume creators and tranmog type of service, it is just a common almost expected thing in many games today. I am of mixed feelings with AE and Farming.. AE allows me the ability to make money I could not figure out or have the patience with playing the Auction House.. But it also stopped me from playing the game in a more "normal way". AE allows me to create my crazy petless masterminds that I can level to 50 and flesh out because I know I would not be invited onto a team. Even though the game is much easier today. For me the invention system I think did more harm. I always felts each player should be limited to how many invention sets or Invention IOs they should be allowed onto a build. This would prevent everyone with many different builds to be defense capped or resist capped or sometimes both to some degree. I believe the IO system just made every player SUPER POWERED.. You have literally 3 IOed capped players on a team and you can do just about any TF on a 4/8 setting. Every other player is just DPS at that point.. I also think it would have made Incarnate powers a bit more of value.. EG Barrier.. But when I am defense capped and I get one or two more buffs that now put me into the 70s for defenses and then some other buffs that buff up my resistances, barrier becomes a bit more useless. Another simple reality is the Devs do not have that time to manage a classic server. And of course my always on going conspiracy that this is all a free test to show NCSoft that a COH 2.0 is doable so they have to move forward with new stuff but that stays in line with the current game model. So they can't waste their time going back to Classic. The Current Devs need to show NCSoft that they have and can still do better then the original Devs.
  24. Unfortunately the original developers pretty much made it where the player is just controlling the pets to fight and not too much of anything else. Can you mix in attacks ? Yes but for Mastermind endurance is an issue. Having pet wipes is an issue. Having yet another immediate pet wipe after the first is also an issue. End result you do too many attacks and your endurance is low you might be limited in how many pets you can summon on a pet wipe. You might not understand ATM what I am trying to describe but you will once you have all your pets.. Someone posted this a while ago, I wish I could give them credit. In summary they said either Masterminds can do some really amazing things or they fail miserably. Though you can't really do a super bad build, I personally think Masterminds have the least amount of wiggle room when it comes to builds.
