  1. I liked most of America's Angel, so just wanted to change a few based on stuff I heard in arena.

There was a slash command which would make coh record what amounted to an event log.

That same file could be loaded when starting the app with an argument, and instead of loading into game, your coh client would replay the recorded file.

These days, it'd be fun as we'd likely be able to decode the format and generate record files....

But I cannot remember or find the command to record or playback.

It was a loose recording, the outcome was me was always the same but playback to playback would animate differently as the game client chose to show a different mob in group throw a projectile for example.

It might be /demorecord, then! I know it prints out some info that looks like this:

Some of the brilliant minds in the PvP community made some different ways of reading it. One of them originally had a handy way of doing it -- that is now relatively obsolete-- and would spit out not only a .csv file but also something looking like a quick spreadsheet:

I wish I could watch PoVs of these players during matches/kickballs. Ever since everybody had to stop streaming, the only way to learn how to get better for me has been to faceplant from failure or spectate a match. Streaming let me watch at my hearts content whenever I felt like it.

@Glacier Peak Message me on discord. @hot dogger#0001. I'll see what I can do for you about some old stuff.

Keep in mind, this list is extremely opinionated (Spiner & Hells have not been on all month and if they have it wasn't for as many games as the rest of the list has played, xhiggy not even on here) and purely for hot's entertainment.

Does the old game recorder still work?

Not sure what that is exactly, but code of conduct/terms of service doesn't let us stream or record videos. We can demorecord, but that only gives stats and numbers. Unfortunately, those are on a match by match basis (some people record for kickball), so there is no way for us to see an encompassing stat sheet of all the players for the month.

That is, unless someone wants to get access to every single demorecording and mash 'em all together.

  4. I like the idea of game balance, but I also like the idea of seeing underperforming sets be made stronger before nerfing overpowered sets. Obviously, the latter will take precedence. Seeing Force Field or Sonic get an absorb shield would be nice. Seeing -recovery/-end do something to mobs would be nice (it's nice in PvP).

My question for the mods would be: what sort of questions could the player base answer to help you gauge what/where would be the best thing to look at? Or is this just being done by the lovely individuals over on the closed beta server so there isn't too much discourse that would influence it? I'm sure series of questions that could be answered without whataboutism would provide a lot more answers than emotion fueled responses.

  5. For a quick glance, this looks more for PVE than PVP.  Doesn't look like you used any PVP IOs which are a big deal. Plus your attacks aren't slotted with procs which will deal a lot of your damage.

I know my info isn't helpful without a build to supply, but I don't have mids on a work computer. I'd check out the PVP discord for some help.

Have any of the devs commented on this bug yet?

I rarely see the devs comment on bugs like this. Posted something about Frigid Shield and Focused Accuracy on Sentinels being bugged (toggled off during mez) without a word from the devs. Same with a Martial Assault bug months ago. No word, but that one was fixed. So, good luck.

  7. The Good Boys (on Thin Ice) are currently looking to fill out our roster. Nothing specific needed, just consistency. We are all flexible enough to fill whatever role we need, so we hope you can be the same 🙂

An upgrade option to +5 all crafted IOs is not happening alongside this update for many reasons; one that might not be obvious is that proc effects are not improved by boosts, so a mass-upgrade button would waste boosters for no benefit. At the very least, it needs to be able to filter those out from the mass upgrading, which is a lot more work than the current feature does: anything that has a sell price in stores is upgraded. If you can't sell it to a vendor, you can't upgrade it with this feature. I'm not saying never, just not now.

That is fair. Would it be more reasonable/feasible to just make a "max boost" booster (+5), then? I don't code/develop, so I'm not sure what level of work it would need to be.

So the rationale here was to turn off double influence when exemp’ing to “make it fair” for everyone, then why not do the same with the marketplace and simply set a max ceiling on all levels of IO’s, Recipe’s and Salvage?

I mean, if your goal is to be fair, then be fair.  Ceiling prices can’t be exceeded, floor prices are still there for the “sell it now” players.  That way we all have the same expected expenditure for every possible build (assuming you buy everything rather than crafting drops, etc).

    Nice idea.
