  1. Most defense sets have several IOs with +Recharge and most scrapper defenses are... toggles or always on. :o +Rech is a wasted stat. How do you slot scrapper defensive powers?
  2. Thanks for the replies. One thing I've noticed about defense sets. Most of them have +Recharge (on the enhancements, not in the bonus), which seems useless since most defense powers are toggles or always on. Question 1: What's up with that? Question 2: What kind of set bonuses should I be looking for? An even spread of resistances across different types of damage?
  3. My new /SR scrapper (now around L20) was dying repeatedly when my brute friends were sailing along just fine in a 3-person team. Is there something people commonly miss about how to play or spec /SR? My friends told me it feels stronger at higher levels.
  4. Here's another one: It doesn't make any sense that the going price could be millions above my listing without my item selling. I happened to have another one so, for science, I decided to list it for 1 and see what happened: Then, after 10 or so minutes of cropping screenshots and imguring to prepare this post, it occurred to me to see if the half mil price I received appeared in recent transactions. It did. Along with several other transactions that did not appear minutes before. It looks like my first price query fetched data that was several hours old, based on the dates before and after midnight. (Does anyone know what time zone the servers use to determine midnight?) But even if that's the case, it makes no sense that my 1.55M wasn't the lowest-priced unit in a market where prices rose to 4M. Another option is that the server fetched data for a different item that was high-priced but slow moving, and had really only sold one unit today, 7/4. What am I seeing here? Is there a non-error related explanation I'm missing?
  5. Some things, like recipe or enhancement drops that have a vendor value, can literally be (and often are) sold on the market for less than they're worth. I used to make money flipping recipes from the market to a vendor before I learned the crafting market. (Thanks, Shinobu). And I'd like to repeat this point louder for the people in the back: [move][glow=red,2,300]A high number of bids is not a guarantee of high demand.[/glow][/move] Many of those bids could be lowball bids from people who hope to make money flipping the item, but don't want to use the item. So there might be 100 bids, but 20 units might satisfy all the demand in Paragon City.
  6. Rouge Angle of Santa would carry the same theme through each word... :) An excellent suggestion which I've implemented. Just need to add the Santa Hat to all her costumes. She wanted to be edgy and intimidating, but the genie made her write her wish on a magic parchment rather than speak it. Now she goes around helplessly spreading good cheer, fabulousness, and understanding of basic geometry.
  7. I think the market is cooling off noticeably. Starting two days ago, I saw the "magic" starting recipes (guaranteed to flip directly into rare) skyrocket in price. Since then, my sales have slowed. A few of my asking prices look too high now, and many others in the 2M range that would have been quick sellers at the end of last week are sitting around. Many IOs show ~100 offers and ~20 bids. It looks like more and more suppliers have caught on (or read this thread). The very top-priced sellers (for our purposes, not purples, PvPs, etc) are holding their value pretty well. There may be an avenue for the more aggressive crafters-- those willing to gamble more and more converters to get that Miracle +Recovery or Luck of the Gambler. Not sure if I'll be in the market over the next couple of days or just keeping an eye on it. Don't want to wind up on a streetcorner selling converters out of a cup for a penny each.
  8. I saw one of these spikes, created some M +R's, went back minutes later, and it was showing 5M-ish prices again. Barely related question: What does everyone here do with rare salvage now? Just sell it for as much as you can? Do you still craft 50IOs out of it for your own use?
  9. Thanks for all the contributions in this thread. I've been lurking along all week and trying to get the hang of this. But like a 90s Learn to Line Dance video, I've had to keep pausing and rewinding and peeking back at this screen. :D I've been modestly successful. Here are two questions and observations from my side. 1. Is 5M inf kind of the gold standard of sell prices we're looking for here? Like, if I get a 5M, my work is done, if not I need to look at what my current IO is selling for and do a little risk/reward on further conversions? 2. I tried an (expensive) experiment in the confuse sets today. I found a L50 Perplex uncommon recipe that require no rare components. I did a 50 in hopes of getting a category conversion into a purple (1 out of 3 sets in confuse that go to L50.) I think I did 8 category conversions and it kept flipping back and forth between Perplex and Malaise's Illusions. Are the purples locked out of category flipping? 3. Shinobu, if you get a Miracle, do you always power through to a +Recovery? If I'm mathing good, it seems like a about a 30% chance to whiff in 5 tries trying to get a +R. I figure that at a cost of (15 converters x 100K) = 1.5 Million. How much premium on the sell price of the +R do you want to see? May or may not be asking because I have a Miracle in my inventory. RIGHT NOW. Cheers, everyone.
  10. Amazing work on the place. Thank you for sharing your time and talents with the community.
  11. It... never occurred to me that I could click in that window to expand something. I guess the little plus signs should have been my clue, I was thinking of them as only bullets. Thanks, Phocks!
  12. And by that I mean you can't see the numbers when you're monkeying with it. Most powers "detailed info" just say that they create a pet. I can not find a way to see the numbers on the powers the pets generate. Is it a 5% debuff or 30%, for example? Because of this, I don't know which powers would wear which buffs (from enhancements) the best. Any advice?
  13. What a great detailed answer, thank you. If I improve the recharge of a 60-second power by 100%, that makes it 30 seconds, right? Would 300% be 15 seconds? It looks like maybe I've been using way too much accuracy, but I do like to fight +3 and above. And I assume surplus accuracy can help counter to-hit debuffs? Maybe I should concentrate less on IO set bonus accuracy, or only slot one ACC in each power instead of two if I do have a lot of set bonuses.
  14. How can I tell if I'm wasting my influence? Will adding another set bonus for accuracy or recharge time help, or am I at the soft cap already? Do set bonuses get diminished in the same way that 3rd and subsequent enhancements do? If someone can point me to a good article or explain this, I'd be grateful.
