  1. Wow! Thank you all for so much feedback.
  2. Thanks for summing it up, Seraph. That confirms that what I thought I learned by now.
  3. Thanks for showing up, Sovera. Indeed, I did. Wasn't quite sure if they were meant for pve, though. Now I am. SS I haven't seen there, but many other melee sets.
  4. I look at it and thank you again, sir. Your effort is much appreciated. A true supernova : )
  5. Dear community, as a casual player on an apple laptop I don't use mids. The last weeks I alternated my playtime between my AR/Inv Sentinel (thanks to Meknomancer for providing a build for me) and one of my first toons, Novaranger, a SS/FA Brute. It is strictly for concept, I didn't know a thing about the game when I created him on Reunion as the Denebian Guardsman. Now playing solely on Excelsior. Slowly leveling, now in the late 30´s I try to understand how to build for that character. I read through many posts, like Soveras Compilation and think I am orientated. But since most builds are for farming I'm a bit uncertain. I understand to build for resistance first while playing pve. I play mostly solo and pug for more fun. I see him more of an sturdy scrapper who can offtank if needed. I use combat jumping and super jump for concept. All FA skills and Punch, Haymaker, Knockout Blow, Rage and Footstomp from SS. Fighting pool is set too. I don't like to stray too much from concept for powers, so for epic Energy or Pyremastery would be preferred, I guess. Hasten should be great for FA as I understand. Since I am a bit low on funds and alternating them between two characters I really would appreciate any advice for power picks and slotting. If anybody could provide me with a build that is survivable in most casual context and still damage worthy I would be grateful. Cheers Nemo
  6. Much appreciated. Looks like what I needed. That helps an awful lot. Thank you, Sir!
  7. Dear community, I am a casual player for quite a while now and play on a small apple laptop. So I find to install mids a bit complicated. For concept I have a AR/Inv sentinel playing as a tactical space marine. I find it quite fun and enjoy the play style of AR with the different attacks, fighting in mid- to close range. Wading in bolter blazing and moving around, taking little damage. Character is nearly lvl 41 now, so I need some guidance for future planning. As casual I often play solo and sometimes in pug teams. For concept I would like to have Fly (jump pack). I don't hoverblast, so I really like to have combat jumping. Fighting pool I think is set, so it seems to be a decision between hasten and leadership pool. If you think I really should take both, I guess I can substitute fly with superjump but that would be second choice. Really fun would be to integrate a sword attack from ninja tool mastery as a chainsword and probably tatsubishi. I digged through old posts and builds. On the defensive I will follow Hyperstrikes guidance. On the offensive I really like Burst, Disorienting Shot and Incinerate for ST. Not sure about taking buckshot or not. The real question is how to slot the attacks, wanting some procs for some more damage (what AR seems to need a bit). Could anyone enlighten me a bit. Since I don't use mids, if someone would grant me a build would be great indeed. I`m a bit low on funds, but take my time. I would be grateful for any guidance. I'm not online this weekend, so I there will be no more post from me from Friday afternoon until Monday.
  8. Great summary, thanks again. Gives me a better idea about what to take. Reading the wiki is one thing, judging the usefulness another. Having fun so far with this combo. Soloing is fine, as well as feeling supportive in group settings.
  9. Great, thanks a lot everybody. I decided to go time because of visuals and it fits the seismic waves/gravity theme well (slowing as gravity manipulation etc.). Geo Wave just recently arrived in Paragon City to support the heroic cause of defending the city. Since I never got deep into the support sets (played mostly melees) what powers are important in time manipulation?
  10. Thanks for the ideas. Time Manipulation as well as Kinetics I see a character theme. Between Time / Kin and Nature, what would you play and why?
  11. Thanks Uun for sharing your experience. I read about seismic pressure that it needs an active playstyle, using seismic powers often. I read the same about nature affinity. So I asked me if they would work together. Good point on thermal being more group oriented.
  12. Hi everybody, as a casual player I want to start my next toon in some days. I really like seismic blast and have a mutant character in mind that draws upon natures powers. So my question is, what secondary would fit into the theme and works with seismic blast. I mostly play solo and pug task forces, so a mix of solo and light team play. I would like to play a corruptor and have /thermal, /nature in mind so far as secondary for the nature theme. Now I got no experience with that and how they would work with the seismic pressure mechanic. I would appreciate any hints and insights concerning mechanics, power choices and gameplay, as well as ideas to synergies with other theme-fitting secondaries.
