  1. I meant in terms of making sure I leave them in the power (assuming the benefit will remain) and doing my respec NOW, if I have any, so that I can let them remain grandfathered in. I will add a "do not respec" column to my spreadsheets, so that I can flag any characters for whom a respec will prevent a re-slotting. Thanks!
  2. Soul Mastery doesnt have Oppressive Gloom which I like to stack with Thunder Clap and/or Dark Pit, so thats a build-purpose deal-breaker there. But I guess I could just take Soul Transfer. I never take Rez powers but if I want to avoid a 5% global recharge drop and dont care about the damage buff, then it gives me an option. So I do appreciate the suggestion, it reminded me there is another place for a set mule if I need it. Thanks!
  3. Bad news then. OK so youre saying respec NOW :) if I have any to do and I want to keep my sets. OK thanks for the info. Cheers!!
  4. Oh no! Terrible news. I hadnt noticed this before. I believe this is a terrible option (Water Spout no longer taking Targeted AOE). I always build hard for global recharge and ranged defense. Especially ranged defense. I love having a powerset to put both Ragnarok and Artillery for both of those. I usually put Artillery in Water Spout because you can get 4% ranged defense from it, or close. This straight up breaks about 30 controllers I have, in terms of shooting for ranged defense soft cap. But there is no way to switch it out. As a controller I already have a full Recharge Intensive set in my pet, and one of those is unique, and so I cant get a full set twice (full set required). And also there are no 10% global recharge sets in Pets, for when I use it for the ragnarok. But usually I do Artillery. Sometimes in both it and Bile Spray. Leviathan is the best set for "I'm not afffiliated with Arachnos" set in terms of tne Coralax pet, and it fits so well with nature or mutation themed builds. And there is no other set with 2 targeted AOEs and a pet and an armor set that I can think of. So I'm looking at expensive rebuilds on ..... a mind bogglingly huge and EXPENSIVE number of controllers and dominators that I've made since 2019. Or else live with a massive drop in Ranged Defense. Is there any way to allow the Water Spout to keep Ranged AOE sets as well as pet sets? The time and influence required to retrofit 30-40 characters ..... oof. Thanks!
  5. Is there any chance we could let it take both Ranged AOE sets and Melee AOE sets? I play a lot of Corruptors and Defenders, and I usually take this powerset and I usually take Soul Drain, because I like to play in close. But most important, I take Soul Drain because it is one of the FEW places I can get a 10% global recharge bonus from a Purple set. MOST powers in the Epics are ranged and ranged AOEs, but I usually already have a Ragnarok and Apocalypse elsewhere. So Soul Drain is the #1 premium spot to take a PBAOE purple set (Armageddon). So while there is the silver lining that I'll be pulling about 20 purple sets out of all my characters from Soul Drain, it also means all of those characters will lose 5% global recharge, that can't be made up anywhere else. Just a minor request. But it sure would be nice to preserve the set functionality of this power. Thanks for all you do. Cheers!
  6. Apologies for my ignorance, but where is the thread for that? Or the source and/or executable? I swore I didnt see anything recent but sometimes my observational powers are limited. Thanks!
  7. Merc/Rad AV fighters? :) I mean probably not, but I can dream.
  8. Is there even a vaguely-recent MIDs or Hero Designer anymore? I'm still on 2.7.2.10 and the only one I saw people using at one point was throwing a virus scan issue (prob not a virus, you know how AV software can be overcautious). But I've been praying for an I4-compatible Mids/Hero Designer, and now I guess we are in I5. The one thread or two I see about it looks old, with the most recent comments being vague. I mean, I havent looked this week, but ..... I wonder if there ever will be a Mids/Hero Designer for I5. I used to love doing all my toons on paper anyway, writing down columns for all the numbers and totaling them up and stuff. Good times. :)
  9. My concerns with these changes are that the weapon upgrades may be too much. I know some people complain about dead powers in sets like Mercs (Serum, or the attacks) or FF (various) but personally I like the flexibility of not taking them and not being weak if I dont take them. So if anything, the fact that the weapon buffs are noticeable but not extreme is a GOOD thing conceptually. For me anyway. I want to feel a power is worth taking, but I dont want to feel that I'm tanking the effectiveness of my build if I DONT take it .... especially for historically "skippable" powers. So having the weapons be useful without being overwhelmingly required for effectiveness sounds good. I dont want to have to respec and completely redesign all my mercs and throw out all the fun weird powers and epic villain powers I took, so I'm hoping for changes that wont create a have's and have-not's situation by making historically skipped powers TOO good. I want to keep puking shark bile and taking weave on all my masterminds without being left in the dust because I didnt elect to opt into the new hotness :)
  10. Maybe gutted was an exaggeration on my part, but I play lot of stormies, and lots of cold domination and dark miasma characters, in large part because I love the stealth stacking for ghosting missions, and even being able to stack steamy mist with super speed and a stealth IO so that foes with perception don't see either. Maybe players who enjoy that are in the minority, but I have ..... checking my spreadsheet .... 12 cold domination characters, 19 dark affinity or miasma characters, and 23 storm summoning characters. And then I have a bunch of Illusionists as well (that overlap once each with the aforementioned powersets) and several stalkers and whatnot. So I guess I find this completely frustrating. Again, I wish they had just made ONLY the currently exclusive ones be affected like this. Anyway, I'll just try my best to ignore it. Cheers!
  11. I dont like this change, specifically for this reason. Just to get the best of both worlds, they are completely gutting everything else. I would have preferred a solution where the change only affected interactions that were normally conflicts. "All conflicting powers can run at the same time but dont stack. All other stealth stacks".
  12. Is Battle Axe being proliferated to Stalkers? I have always been hoping they would be, but I didnt see anything about it. Just curious. Anyway, these changes that I do see seem interesting for my Axe tanker. Looking forward to it.
  13. Will Super Speed + stealth io in Sprint still give me a stealth radius of 65, like before?
  14. This completely kills the team benefit of regen .... unless I break every build I have and take the powers. Changes should not make a powerset worse if you dont indulge in the new stuff youre being pushed towards. If the bots still did -regen, and the attacks also did a non-stacking -regen, allowing me to put the -regen where I want it, then fine. Otherwise I'll just move away from robots.
  15. This is a horrific nerf, as far as I can tell. I use Super speed + a stealth IO in sprint to stack to ghost things or avoid mobs or all kinds of things on all my characters. And I put a knockback IO in super speed. So this is a net loss for .... every character I have, since I take Super Speed on every character. This is not a quality of life change. This seems like some back-handed way to mess with something else. Terrible idea.
  16. I might be repeating stuff others have said, but here are mine: 1) I miss street sweeping being a thing (as kelika2 said, above me) that you could do to level up at a decent clip. 2) Speaking of that, I miss the old Brickstown before they added the Zig event there. I dont necessarily mind the Zig event, but they did end up completely borking an old grind loop I had near there with freaks and crey, in a perfect loop, and there was the old school parking lot filled with freaks etc too. All thats gone. AND on top of that, they trashed most of the other good street sweeping by putting PPD and enemy factions fighting other enemy factions. It made the spawns worse, and I dont like the assist from the NPCs. Completely kills the thrill. 3) I miss my old Gravity/Rad controller who could have 3 singularities out for part of the time, and 2 of them all of the time. 4) I miss galaxy city, the original newbie zone. It was, and remains, my favorite blue-side zone, with Kings Row (the OG) and Brickstown (the OG) being close. I can go street sweep there as a lowbie, but its slightly frustrating to do, now that the HC team made it where (if I'm correct) you cant get to it from your base. I loved it when I could just get to galaxy echo at level 2 without having to snag an OB portal. 5) I miss the original Atlas park. There were some fun street sweeping loops with clocks among some ruins that are gone. The echo is there but .... oh well. 6) I Imiss awkward travel .... there is a lot of convenience and its good but I miss when low level travel was a slog, and I miss when they had the disconnected train lines and no ways to get to PI without hitting talos first. 7) I miss the old Dark Astoria. Yeah I can still go there. Not as good as the OG tho, just somehow its not as scary now. Difficulty aside. Not sure why. Thats all I can think of right now. Good times. But hey, its STILL good times. :) Cheers!!
  17. It affects one of my top 3 favorite aspects of the game (AFK build crafting and implementation) so it matters to me. But what's done is done. I dont enjoy active farming. If I could make the influence/progress in COH doing the things I actually enjoy doing, I probably wouldn't bother, except that I love the "mini project/build tweaking" aspect of AFK farming enough that I'd probably always still tinker with it, because I enjoy the concept. But I like making a steady bit of influence, even if its less than active farmers make by an order of magnitude, while I putz around doing other content I like. Anyway, we all find alternate ways to enjoy the game, when aspects we dont like change, and I've moved forward. I do wish you the best, despite our radically different preferences. Cheers.
  18. The increased time is mostly due to increased interaction .... moving from one edge to another every so often. So it interferes with being able to be AFK the entire time. Of course, increased time is bad enough .... AFK farming isnt fast, but making it slower isnt a non-issue. All good though, I managed to get a good afk solution thats roughly where I was at, certainly in terms of convenience.
  19. Overblown by who, though? (EDIT: I forgot to actually quote the part I meant to reply to. :) But you get what I mean. :) ) I've never AE'd any stranger lowbies, so I've never been involved with AE babies. I just farm for cash or whatever while playing an alt. Its kinda weird that the kind of people who actively fire farm and perhaps recruit AE babies are unaffected by (and mostly making money faster thanks to) the aggro changes. But those of us doing stuff an a tepid pace while afk took the actual hit. So its weird how all the drama is focused on the "leave me alone"ers like me. Anyway, I'm sure the drama will blow over, and people will adapt and move forward. I'm going to continue to play paper dolls and power fantasy on my own, albeit at a slower pace. Maybe I'll find a better build and match my former slightly-less-tepid pace. Either way. :) Fun times. And to focus on my positives a bit, I do really love symphony control, and sonic assault is pretty dope too. Been enjoying them. They are cool sets. I have at least a half-dozen more alts to make. :) And I dig a lot of the other changes too. I give this issue 4 of 5 roses!!
  20. I have my health 5 slotted with a panacea proc, a miracle proc, and the numina proc, and another numina health IO to get a regen set bonus, and a random level 50 heal IO for some reason. Thats about all I have. I guess I will try to make a second build that does better with regen. Not aware of the power transfer, but will check. As a total aside, I wonder how long it will be before there is an updated Hero Designer. I'm still running a much older version than whatever is recent, I'm sure. EDIT: no accolades or anything.
  21. No problem. I have some non-ideal solutions that are solutions nonetheless, so all good I guess.
  22. How? My Rad/Fire brute with decent regen, capped Fire Res, and Capped fire defense, gets overwhelmed unless I stand on the edge of the map, which makes it take longer.
  23. Yeah ... making the mobs behave in a different way after 18+ years feels like an excuse to stop badwrongfun. But adjustment is on the menu now, so it is what it is. I'm an AFK farmer and I can still do the Brigg map if I stand on the edge so less things see me at once. And I can easily survive without changing maps if I'm active. So again ... it feels like something else. I do make less influence a map but I never checked my farmer more than every 20 mins, so I still clear most of it. I will take a look at 50968 I guess. Can't hurt. If I can make more XP active driving on that one, it will make my "forced to play their way" bouts more lucrative, and just play the non-used account only when friends are on. I might also take a look at some of the old school active farms that are non-AE. I have stabled characters that can blitz a lot of them. So I cant play a lowbie anymore I guess while an alt gets vet levels, at least not as quickly (my rate was always slow). Thanks for the response and for new maps though. Cheers!
