  1. Ever since I discovered the @TheUnnamedOne's Badge Reporter popmenu, I've found it an amazing tool for seeing what Badges you have on a toon. BadgeReporter.20201211a.mnu The popmenu file has its version in its name. New version releases will just require replacing the file without any need to change binds or macros. The Alphabetic Badge List was developed independently by @Janrith and others in the Homecoming community from information referenced in its topic. It is currently maintained by @ROBOKiTTY. The Badge List Popmenu was developed by @AboveTheChemist building on the work of @Janrith, @ROBOKiTTY, @Wingman, and others as an offshoot of the Alphabetic Badge List.
  2. So...I have a build for everything in game, GM killa, team player, solo, farmers, merit farmer, pvp, etc. I figured what better place to ask than here in the Badge section. BUT, I don't have an AT in mind for a badger, and I seriously want to start one. I know you need heals, good aoe for defeat badges, survivability especially against AV/GM, pvp, etc. What do you use for your badger, I had a Demon/Therm MM in mind but, I'm unsure. Thoughts?
  3. Defeating Dragon Blue Ink Man minions in the level 15-40 Tsoo villain group does not award progress toward the Ink Man gladiator badge. (Note: All other Blue Ink Man minions correctly award progress. Checked level 30-40 Eagle, Serpent, and Tiger Blue Ink Man minions, and all Blue Ink Man minions in the level 50-54 Tsoo villain group.) Steps to reproduce 1. Have a level 20+ character without the Ink Man badge 2. Go to Siren's Call or St. Martial 3. Observe Ink Man badge progress under Gladiator badges 4. Find and defeat Dragon Blue Ink Man minions (but not Eagle, Serpent, or Tiger) 5. Observe Ink Man badge progress under Gladiator badges Expected results Each Dragon Blue Ink Man defeat adds 1 to the Ink Man badge progress bar. Actual results Dragon Blue Ink Man defeats do not affect the Ink Man badge progress bar.
  4. It's that time of year.... WINTER EVENT BADGES!!! For many players of yore, the winter event brought not just presents and giant XP laden snow monsters, but also a time to team up and enjoy the company of others collecting badges and throwing snowballs. This year all of those badges are returning, with a newcomer in the mix. In order to consolidate all of those badges in to one convenient place, I have included all relevant details about these badges and how to acquire them (in no particular order, though the badges that are purchased at Candy Keeper are highlighted yellow). All Winter Event badges are awarded to both Hero, Villain, and Praetorian, as well as Rogue & Vigilante alignment. Some of these badges are available year round as well, so I marked them with a red asterisks. If you keen eyes notice any errors, please feel free to let me know and I will edit the original post. Good luck badgers! Newest Winter Event Badge this year! Awarded for logging in during the event. Lord/Lady of Winter Badge - This badge is awarded for defeating Lord Winter during the Winter Event. (Lord Winter's Realm is a Winter-themed co-op trial. This trial requires 12 to 36 characters of level 10 or greater and can be accessed via the Team-Up Teleporter in the LFG Window, a selection on the Chat Window.) Cold Warrior Badge - This badge is awarded for defeating 100 snow creatures in either Paragon City, the Rogue Isles, OR Praetoria. Frozen Fury Badge - This badge is awarded for defeating the Winter Lord in either Paragon City, the Rogue Isles, OR Praetoria Cold Front Badge* - This badge is available for purchase from the Candy Keeper for 25 Candy Canes and 30,000 influence. Festive Badge* - This badge is available for purchase from the Candy Keeper for 25 Candy Canes and 30,000 influence. Miraculous Badge* - This badge is one of the four reward options for completing Father Time's mission the Winter Event. (It is also available for purchase from the Candy Keeper for 20 Candy Canes and 5,000 influence). Joyful Badge* - This badge is one of the four reward options for completing Father Time's mission the Winter Event. Gift Getter Badge - This badge is awarded for receiving a Duplicating Gift from another player when you don't already have one. Gift Which Keeps Giving Badge - This badge is awarded for giving a Duplicating Gift to another player who doesn't already have one. Toothbreaker Badge - This badge is awarded for defeating Snaptooth five times during one of Father Times missions. No progress bar reported. Red Cap Gladiator Badge - This badge is earned by earning the Toothbreaker Badge. Qualified Badge* - This badge is awarded for Skiing down the Timed Expert Ski Course slopes in the Ski Chalet between 35 and 44.99 seconds. Accelerated Badge* - This badge is awarded for Skiing down the Timed Expert Ski Course slopes in the Ski Chalet in between 25 and 34.99 seconds. Speed Demon Badge* - This badge is awarded for Skiing down the Timed Expert Ski Course slopes in the Ski Chalet in 24.99 seconds or less. Surefooted Badge* - This badge is awarded for Skiing down the Advanced Timed Ski Course slopes in the Ski Chalet with a time of 1:10:00 or less. Agile Badge* - This badge is awarded for Skiing down the Advanced Timed Ski Course slopes in the Ski Chalet with a time of 1:00:00 or less. Speeder Badge* - This badge is awarded for Skiing down the Advanced Timed Ski Course slopes in the Ski Chalet with a time of 00:50:00 or less.
  5. Hi all! I'm working on a popmenu that lists the game's badges in alphabetic order and whether or not you have them on your character using the LockedOption Badge identifiers. However, the only identifier info I have is from a googledoc link on the popmenu article on ParagonWiki, circa 2010. I've been able to figure out some of the missing identifiers based on the format of others in the same ilk, but, as with anything, the format isn't 100% consistent. I'm also looking through the code base to find the info, but not having much luck. As you can see, I have fleshed out the Exploration, History, and Accomplishment sections, and will be fleshing out the rest of the sections over the next few days. The order is based on the Badge Tracker Spreadsheet order. Badges that I don't have Identifiers for are flagged with an (NI) tag at the end of the title (and the menu they live in). The incomplete version seen above is attached to this post. I'll replace it when I have all of the menus fleshed out, (edit:) I've filled out all of the menus with the Badge Identifier information that I have (see the updated screenshot above). There are quite a few badges that I don't have, so I can't fully test out the full badge list; if you know you have a badge and it's not lighting up (and not marked as needing the identifier), please let me know so I can fix it. Also, an updated list deserves a new screencap... (/edit) If anyone knows the identifiers for any of these badges, or knows of an updated "i25" badge identifier list, could you please point me in the correct direction so I can complete the list?   6. Hey there, so today we’ll be getting you the 4 passive accolade bonuses. This includes Portal Jockey/Born In Battle, Atlas Medallion/Marshal, Task Force Commander/Invader, and Freedom Phalanx Reserve/High Pain Threshold. You only need to be level 50, no other prerequisites. There are a few ways to get some faster if you have certain missions/contact, but this will be a fully self sufficient guide to getting all 4 passive accolades all on your own. Why would you want these accolades? They give you passive buffs to HP and END all the time. Crucial for PvP and always useful for PvE. You can get all of these in a few hours by yourself so let’s get right into it! PORTAL JOCKEY / BORN IN BATTLE +Max HP +Max End Get this one on Heroes Dimensional Warder: First head to Ouroboros. We’ll need a few different flashback arcs. A Hero’s Epic (Completing this gets you all AVs except Siege and Antimatter) A Hero’s Hero (Do the 3rd mission for Siege) Instant Army (Complete this arc for Antimatter and merits) Shrouded: Do Black Shroud Dimension Arc in Ouroboros. You just need to enter and exit the mission and you’ll get the exploration badge. Multidimensional: Do Hydra Dimension Arc in Ouroboros. You just need to enter and exit the mission and you’ll get the exploration badge. History Badge: Get VidiotMaps. ATLAS MEDALLION / MARSHAL +Max End Get this one on Heroes Spelunker: Get Rescue the Mystic from the Circle of Thorns Arc in Ouroboros. Just need to complete the first mission and you’ll get the badge. The Silver Bullet (Warwolves): Hunt in Striga Isle. The Slayer (Vampyres): Do Moonfire Taskforce. First mission set to -1x8. Repeat until you get badge. Explorations: Get VidiotMaps, seriously. TASK FORCE COMMANDER / INVADER +Max HP Only Exploration badges on villainside. You will need the Hero Slayer Badge. This gives a contact who gives all the mayhem missions on command. He is in Port Oakes. You need to kill 25 heroes to get the badge. You can do this by doing the LRSF, hunting heroes in Recluse’s Victory. Or the fastest way: Go to Heroside to Brickstown, do the signature story arc, on the 3rd mission set it to -1x8. You’ll get the badge after completing this mission once. Go to P2W Vendor and get the Reveal Power also get VidiotMaps if you haven’t already. Now switch to villainside. Go to Port Oakes and talk to your new contact. Get each mayhem mission, use Reveal, and get the exploration badges. Easy. FREEDOM PHALANX RESERVE / HIGH PAIN THRESHOLD +Max HP Get this one on Heroes Tank Buster (Freakshow Tanks): Hunt in Crey’s Folly or Terra Volta. Gearsmasher (Clockwork Gears): Hunt in Echo: Faultline. Unveiler (Fake Nemesis): Do Steel Canyon Signature Story Arc. Set to -1x8. Hunt Fake Nemesis in first mission. Repeat until you get the badge. History and Explorations: Hopefully you have VidiotMaps by now. Congratulations. If you’ve made it this far, you now have all 4 passive +HP and +END accolade bonuses. You are now able to properly compete in PvP and not use “No accolades” as an excuse. Thanks for reading, see you guys in game!

So! one of the lesser explored mechanics in the game was a little thing called Day Jobs, something that provided a nice narrative element for how your characters spend time off-screen, and provided a small reward for spending time logged off in that job location. However, there wasn't really any further exploration of the concept besides adding in a new day job here and there, most of which didn't even have an associated accolade to progress towards to. I figured since the concept hasn't been tinkered with since CoH's final days, I would take a stab at thinking up some new Day Job Accolade badges that a player can work towards, which I think helps with the following problems with Day Jobs, and badges on general; There are day jobs with no accolades. Some day jobs count towards far more accolades that others. Day Jobs are a means of implementing new accolades without the need of new mission arcs or zones to explore. There would be more badges for those who enjoy badge-hunting or looking for that ideal title. There would be more rewards you can earn for logging off in a single location. More temporary powers More character themes to play with! With all this in mind, here's a list of Day Job Accolades I came up with that I think would better distribute rewards and explore more themes!   8. Really Hard Way badge run of the Magisterium Incarnate Trial is led weekly by The Cosmic Council! Join us every Saturday night a few minutes before our 8:00pm ET start time in Pocket D on Excelsior! Invites go out to SG and Coalition members first, then first-come first-serve until we're full! All runs are led on a rotating schedule by either @Caddaric, @331, @The Atomic Alpha, and/or @Bronx. After the run, we typically take requests for Master runs of other trials.   9. I've tried a bunch of differerent Ouroboros arcs, but lately I've not received any badges from them. For example, I just sucessfully executed the War of The Fir Bolg (Croatoa 2) in the Defender of Truth range: but did not get the Still, Valiant or Dull badges. First I thought I was doing them at -1 or doing them without Defeats or Time Limit Options, but changing those did not help...
  10. Is there a way to turn these badges to story arcs? They got results anyway I'm assuming it should be way easier then write totally new story arc. Examples : Undefeated Badge : Here is where one of the brave souls to take up the mantle of Scirocco stood against, and fell to, the Rikti invaders. = Make that story arc either as personal story or just plain old ouroboros mission. Freedom Badge : This flag was crafted from Statesman's cape and was donated to Paragon City to replace the flag destroyed by the invading Rikti. It now flies over Paragon City Hall to honor the sacrifice made by Hero 1 and the rest of Omega Team. = I want to see Hero 1 so it should be story arc. I know that technically you can do that on AE but it is not official and AE somewhat is limited. Thoughts?
  11. I created a small program for myself to collect badges from chatlogs and list any badges still needed and as its almost useful I thought I would upload it. It reads in chatlogs and creates a text file with for each character that logs in with all their badges. You can then read those in and it will give lists of badges required sorted by the type of badge. It has some issues. If you start chat logging in game while a character is logged in it won't know who the badges belong to so you need to log out then log back in again. It is best to enable logging for all characters by default. If there are any badges earned at the start of a chatlog file before a login message the program will prompt the user to select which character they belong to. There are a few badges which do not give messages when given (Such as Multidimensional), these need to be selected as badge titles. I put the sourcecode on github if anyone wants it, a windows binary should also be attached. https://github.com/Treboroops/badgeextractor Its written in Lazarus so can be built for Mac or linux easily. The SQL database of badges was compiled from the spreadsheet by KeyboardKitsune and released with permission. Instructions After running the program use the options button to set the location where the CoH chatlogs are and where you want it to output badge lists. The parse chatfile button will let you read those in one at a time. It will list any badges collected or set as badge title. (Its likely that it will fail to find some badges if the badge description is slightly different from the database) The load report button will let you read in one of the badge lists produced then you can use the dropdown box to list any badges needed.   12. In trying to think of a way to infuse interest in some of the more obscure trial and hazard zones, I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to have special daily missions in these zones. Not only would you get a big XP bonus from a hunting mission, but it could also count towards a special reward badge for each zone. Here is just a spit-ball idea of the special badges you could get from the daily missions. There could be one or two daily missions per trial or hazard zone. Perez Prize You have completed 100 daily missions in Perez Park. This badge gives you a permanent 1.25% increase to your health. Detonator You've defeated 200 clockwork, 200 council, 200 trolls through daily missions in Boomtown. This badge gives you a permanent 2% increase in movement. Classicist You have completed 100 daily missions in Cimerora. This badge gives you a permanent 2% increase to your recovery. Forbidden Fruit You've defeated 200 Crey, 200 Devouring Earth, and 200 Nemesis through daily missions in Eden. This badge give you a permanent 5% increase to you regeneration. Speculator You have completed 100 daily missions in Crey's Folly. This badge gives you a permanent 5% increase to influence or infamy rewards. Honey Badger You have completed 100 daily missions in the Hive. This badge gives you a permanent 10% resistance to slow effects. Daily Grind You have collected 10 daily mission badges. This badge give you a permanent 2% increase to you defenses. The daily missions could also be level locked, so higher level character are exemplared to the maximum level for the daily missions. So this was written up quickly, let me know what you guys think. What do you think could be other badges, zones, and rewards that daily missions could give? Edit: I didn't verify the badge names, so I may have inadvertently used a title that already exists.

Many players were actually new to CoH, too busy to gather the merits, or did not realize these badges were of limited availability. Due to the fact that this is the first winter holiday season with CoH back up and running, I feel it would be a nice little gift to the community if these badges were available for the month of December. Maybe not as an every year thing, but I feel that giving a second chance before May to nab these badges, now that people have established characters and built up merits/knowledge of the game/etc would be a nice gift with very minimal effort on the part of the devs. I honestly don't see why they aren't available year round--but I can respect the rationale enough. With that in mind, I know this woul dmake a lot of people happy, would not require new content, and would be more useful now than it was in May. Thank you for the consideration! 🙂
  14. Ran this tonight 10/2/19, and it seemed to both work well and be appreciated by participants. SO we'll do it again. Starting at approximately 20:00 (8 PM) EST / 00:00 UTC / 02:00 (2 AM) CEST (and I'll let you work out the other conversions from there), I'll periodically advertise in LFG for a rolling Halloween event team. We'll be hitting any Deadly Apocalypse or Zombie Apocalypse we can. Between horrific battles to prevent the end of the world, we'll look for Jack and Eochai and Trick or Treat to pass the time. Come one, come all, stay as long as you like. Tonight we managed to keep it going for around 3 hours, and successfully stopped so many Apocalyptic events and giant monsters I quite lost track.
