  1. I was just wondering if the different tattoo chest pieces could be added to the Unique Top piece, including the Yakuza and Yakuza glowing tattoo chest pieces for female characters. The reason I ask this is simply because, it's adds a little more variety. One of my characters has tattoos (Yakuza, glowing), yet I can't show them on some (or maybe just one) of the different Tab selection choices for the upper body, one of them being the "Unique Top," and I was really hoping that I could keep the consistency with different costumes. Also, the glowing Yakuza tattoos are pretty cool, so I would hate to miss out on being able to show those off on my character.
  2. Sorry if this was already talked about or not, but I had a question about the customization of the Arachnos Soldier AT. When looking at the "Epic Archtype" tab, you can select either: Wolf and Helm, Wolf, or Bane / Crab. When you started out in the past, you didn't start out with any crab backpacks or crab stuff--only when you reached lvl 24 were you able to select them through the Crab Spider option or Bane Spider (though I just remember Crab). So, is there a way to make my character without the backpack or must I have the backpack on? When I select the cape option it just goes through the backpack if I try it on Wolf. I remember my character a long time ago having a cape and I liked the couple different looks that you could have with or without the backpack. Is there a possibility that this might be re-implemented? It also kind of just makes the leveling process less special, or the upgrading "ranks" less special to me if everyone HAS to have a backpack, especially if you want a certain look; however, I also might just be missing something since I can be blind sometimes. Just curious!
  3. I love the Martial Arts Powerset sadly I wish we could update the animations to some of the existing ones, but that probably will never happen, that being said, I would like to see Martial Combat, Storm Kick, in the customization choice in the character creator when creating a MA character for Tanks, Brute, Scrappers, and Stalkers I think it looks much better in animation it doesn't look so clunky and SLOW.
  4. Playing with auras is always a fun way of putting the finishing touches on a costume, but sometimes it can feel a bit limiting when you're trying to get that ideal look. One thing most people will notice is that auras can be further customised by selecting a dropdown menu of body options to choose where the aura applies, but why not go a step further and make auras fully modular? Instead of having a single aura slot, perhaps we could make it so each part of your body has it's own dedicated aura customisation? I know theres some work being done to overhaul character creation, as we've seen with asymmetrical parts and changes to back slot items, so I'm hoping something like this might at least be feasible. So... what might this look like? Your head, torso and legs would have new costume slots dedicated to auras; your head would have options for hair and eye options, your torso would have chest, left arm and right arm options, and your legs would have left and right leg options. This means not only can you choose the specific parts of your body have auras, but you will also be able to change colors and styles individually too. As for the old aura slot, it will still be available for those unique auras that aren't just a full body version of those above, as well as the place to customise your movement aura as before.
  5. If you play a kheldian for any reasonable amount of time you probably have ended up fighting your camera as much as the mobs while transforming to Nova or Dwarf form. (Please see the attached video.) Not sure what would be the easier fix, shortening the wispy color flair or toning down the alpha on the effect. Just tossing this out there as a bit of player feed back. Thanks for your time 🙂
  6. Since we're now removing the mutual exclusivity of travel and prestige powers, would it be possible to take a look at maybe adding some of the prestige travel animations (esp. Void Skiff) as customization options for the Fly power pool, or otherwise removing some of the restrictions they have regarding using abilities and detoggling powers while it's in use? I realize there's possibly some trickiness to some of those animations that have resulted in them working the way they do, for instance a character that's doing a kick is going to have to be animated to have their feet leave the vehicle and return. But for those of us who have characters that would like to use the theme of some of these prestige pieces (for example for a Green Goblin-like character using the skiff as a glider), it would be great if they could be usable in combat like every other travel power or at least not interfere with combat by detoggling everything when they're used. The same thing goes for any of the jetpack powers for characters who actually want their characters to be jetpack users. Would be a nice QoL thing along the lines of the great work that was done with Ninja/Beast/Athletic run. Thanks in advance.
  7. I just saw some stuff about pet costumes on Thunderspy and was wondering if there was a way to customize the look of pets on Homecoming. My forum searches and other internet searches not returned any relevant results--not sure if that indicates there isn't a way to customize pets, or if I just gave up before finding it.
  8. Hey all, hope you're all doing well and staying safe. I just got a question I thought I'd ask here - so... with power customization on Homecoming here, I have to ask - do the forms of a Peacebringer or a Warshade change color at all? I ask because, admittedly, I love the concept of the Peacebringers and Warshades - arguably moreso the Peacebringers/non-altered Kheldians since I always loved characters like the Green and Yellow Lanterns as well as those non-organic shapeshifting forms (and organic shapeshifters as well of course). And while I'm okay with the default colors, I just have to ask since the idea of rocking - say - a neon green Nova and Dwarf form is enticing lol
  9. Would it be possible to allow these two sets to share skins? Such as Crey/Rikti on BR and Shard/Cannon ect on Pulse (and I suppose even AR since it already has sci-fi options) ?
  10. I have a lvl50 Stone Tank, lvl50 Warshade, lvl50 Peacebringer and other characters with teleport or, mystic flight. Along the way, I've come to know what I like and don't like. I also have a lot of binds and a lot of alts, leading me, like a lot of people I'd guess, to start putting energy in to one global profile to cover as much as makes sense and smaller profiles for toons that develop out of it. I'm up to 11 level 50s in all so, that global has matured a lot along the way. There's great guides on this topic already. They've definitely helped steer me along the way. if this is something you're interested in, I highly recommend checking the previous posts for more information. This guide will be focused on what I haven't come across yet. Couple quick things, 1. I haven't tried Jaunt yet. I suspect this works but it hasn't been tested. With P2W flight and Ninja/Beast Run, I don't tend to lean towards travel powers like back in live. My stone tank's run speed at almost 70mph. KInd of an extreme example although, at an average of 60mph on others... anyway. 2. I've messed around with powexeclocation but ultimately, my preference for teleport is excename. I use powexeclocation for other things and I'm fairly confident it can be used here, interchangeably. 3. I only like LeftDoubleClick, sometimes. I use the client to grab a, "fresh off the press" copy of keybind.txt as the base for my global file. I splurged on some extra characters and named it Global.txt. This first bit goes in there. @/Global.txt SHIFT+LBUTTON "powexecname Translocation$$powexecname Jaunt$$powexecname Teleport$$powexecname White Dwarf Step$$powexecname Shadow Step" LeftDoubleClick nop CTRL+LeftDoubleClick "bindloadfilesilent @/!/LDCTP1.txt" My active binds are kept in the Install/data folder. My subfolder is, "@", where all the binds go. CTRL+LeftDoubleClick loads a file to mimic SHIFT+LBUTTON. It's in another subfolder named, "!". It's for anything global, Global.txt couldn't manage alone. Edit to taste. @/!/LDCTP1.txt LeftDoubleClick "powexecname Translocation$$powexecname Jaunt$$powexecname Teleport$$powexecname White Dwarf Step$$powexecname Shadow Step" CTRL+LeftDoubleClick "bindloadfilesilent @/!/LDCTP0.txt" CTRL+: Flips LeftDoubleClick back to my preferred default, off. @/!/LDCTP0.txt LeftDoubleClick nop CTRL+LeftDoubleClick "bindloadfilesilent @/!/LDCTP1.txt" This manages itself until the next reset. Warshade Minimum So, on to warshades. We have Shadow Step covered, so Dwarf is all we're missing. I'm using, a minimalist global folder structure here. Everyone has their own methods, so I wanted to present a, "just the facts" version to illustrate my thinking and conforms to other methods with less to cut. Afterwards, a puffed-up opinion piece, closer to what I use. That being said, Essentially, I'm mimicing the above. 1. @/WSToonName/NotDwarfBinds.txt - Minimum <KEY1> "powexectoggleon Black Dwarf$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/WSToonName/IsDwarfBinds.txt" This is a bare minimum option. <KEY1> loads the Dwarf binds. 2. @/WSToonName/IsDwarfBinds.txt - Minimum SHIFT+LBUTTON powexecname Black Dwarf Step LeftDoubleClick powexecname Black Dwarf Step CTRL+LeftDoubleClick "bindloadfilesilent @/!/WS-LDCTP0.txt" <KEY2> "powexectoggleoff Black Dwarf$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/WSToonName/NotDwarfBinds.txt" Unlike the multi power option, I prefer LeftDoubleClick's default is functional if I go Dwarf. <KEY2>, pops back to human form and Shadow Step is restored. 3. @/!/WS-LDCTP0.txt - Minimum LeftDoubleClick nop CTRL+LeftDoubleClick "bindloadfilesilent @/!/WS-LDCTP1.txt" This keeps the activity, back and forth, in the global folder . 4. @/!/WS-LDCTP1.txt - Minimum LeftDoubleClick powexecname Black Dwarf Step CTRL+LeftDoubleClick "bindloadfilesilent @/!/WS-LDCTP0.txt" And, like the first bit, this manages itself until <KEY2> gets pressed. Then, were back to square one. WIth that, the teleport part is finished. It's nothing fancy but, hopefully useful. Warshade Options So, here's a little more QOL and global flexibility. The teleport part is essentially the same. For anyone just getting familiar with this, we're rolling binds. Anyone who's spent any time with them will testify, interrupts, too-much-too-fast keyboard action or occasional glitches can knock them out of sync. With easy access to reset them, it's hardly worth mentioning. WIthout, possible disaster. Likely frustration. There's a lot of ways to do this and, here's a couple I use a variation of. 1. @/Nictus/BuildWithDwarf/NotDwarfBinds.txt SHIFT+1 "powexectoggleon Dark Nova$$windowhide Tray7$$gototray 4$$unbindall$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/General.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/!/Kheld.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/BuildWithNova/IsNovaBinds.txt" SHIFT+3 "powexectoggleon Black Dwarf$$windowhide tray7$$gototray 4$$unbindall$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/General.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/!/Kheld.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/BuildWithDwarf/IsDwarfBinds.txt" SHIFT+C "+$$powexectoggleon Penumbral Shield$$powexectoggleon Twilight Shield$$powexectoggleon Gravity Shield" CTRL+C "powexectoggleoff Black Dwarf$$powexectoggleoff Dark Nova$$windowshow tray7$$gototray 9$$unbindall$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/General.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/BuildWithDwarf/NotDwarfBinds" CTRL+R "up 0$$down 0$$forward 0$$backward 0$$left 0$$right 0$$camreset$$unbindall$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/General.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/BuildWithDwarf/NotDwarfBinds.txt" I've added spaces, for legibility, that will need to be deleted before using. The rest of these can be edited for your pleasure. The Keys are relevant accept to illustrate one of the QOL pieces. SHIFT+1: Only added to illustrate where toggling on Nova fits in. SHIFT+3: Toggles Dwarf on, handles some window & tray stuff and then the binds load as follows. unbindall: I use this like it's part of an attack chain. Personally, I've found using it often means not really needing it. *(READ FOOTNOTE BEFORE USE!!) Global.tx: Now, it's my personal clean slate. Nictus/AllBuildBInds.txt: The Character's general binds load to catch Global overrides or, anything unique. Kheld.txt: I have global file for both forms, shared by PBs & WS so, Kheld.txt... This would be where it goes, if you do to otherwise, it's dead to us. BuildWithDwarf/NotDwarfBinds.txt: I spend more time on the human form so, a division. SHIFT+C: Notice the +$$ in the front, that's why I added the key names, it serves two functions In human, it kicks on two shields at once. More importantly, it picks up a cue from SHIFT+C in the next file and kicks on gravity shield, coming out of the other forms. If there's a bind issue, it buys a little time. CTRL+C: Emergency protocol if anything interrupted SHIFT+C. In most cases, rolling SHIFT+C works so, another key is the only choice for insurance. (Unbindall is in here too.) CTRL+R: Restores default NotDwarf state. I use this command for reset on everything. (Unbindall is in here too.) 2. @/Nictus/BuildWithDwarf/IsDwarfBinds.txt SHIFT+LBUTTON powexecname Black Dwarf Step LeftDoubleClick powexecname Black Dwarf Step CTRL+LeftDoubleClick "bindloadfilesilent @/!/Kheld/WS-LDCTP0.txt" SHIFT+3 "windowhide tray7$$gototray 4" SHIFT+C "-$$powexectoggleoff Black Dwarf$$powexectoggleoff Dark Nova$$windowshow Tray7$$gototray 9$$unbindall$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/AllBuildBinds.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/BuildWithDwarf/NotDwarfBinds.txt" CTRL+C nop CTRL+R "up 0$$down 0$$forward 0$$backward 0$$left 0$$right 0$$camreset$$unbindall$$bindloadfilesilent @/Global.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/General.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/!/Kheld.txt$$bindloadfilesilent @/Nictus/BuildWithDwarf/IsDwarfBinds.txt" The teleport binds show up again. The path added a subfolder named /Kheld/ which isn't necessary. It's only there to further illustrate the global purpose. SHIFT+1: Is gone, carried over from the last file and still toggles Nova on. SHIFT+3: We're in Dwarf so, this just maintains the window and tray stuff. SHIFT+C: Starts with -$$ to carry over to the last SHIFT+C command and auto toggle a primary shield. Both forms are toggled off, window & tray stuff then load the previous state. (Unbindall is in here too.) CTRL+C: With the rolling bind on SHIFT+C having more to offer, I only wanted CTRL+C if, SHIFT+C fails. Deleting it here, preserves its original command if, preferred. CTRL+R: Restores default NotDwarf state. I use this command for reset on everything. (Unbindall is in here too.) The last two steps from the Minimum version are nearly identical. Only the paths have changed to protect the innocent. We went from, @/!/WS-LDCTP0.txt to. @/!/Kheld/WS-LDCTP0.txt. *UNBINDALL/KEYBINDRESET: These two commands are identical. They will wipe your active (Client managed) bind file clean. You won't be able to recover what was lost. Bindsavefile, managing files locally and knowing what you need to load and when, is imperative to successfully implementing either of these. If you're not sure what these do, don't use them without doing some homework. I apologize for endlessly nagging about this. I'd just hate to find out, I was the guy that walked you through vaporizing your data, like it didn't matter. If this tutorial was helpful, I posted a recovery guide right here. Thanks for checking out the guide! Let me know If there's any corrections, improvements or elaboration in order.
  11. Friends informed me that my energy katana was invisible to them, though I could see it. They only saw it during some attack animations but mostly it was awol and I looked like I was gripping something... else with my hands. Similarly, my rifle has been invisible (even to me) on toons with munitions mastery epic pool (powers like LRM and freeze ray). I've noticed that the water blast colours seem to have been changed in the costume file itself. I had saved customization on two toons, and when I tried to load the files to restore the customization I saw that the saved settings were all water blasts in red. The costume creator has been a little kooky as well, changing ear styles and weapons such as dual pistols. Water blast colour changes were reset to red. Most annoyingly, you have to pay influence to change some of these settings back.
  12. I just made a Rad/Rad Tank. i wanted all my powers to be black. the primary set is correct. the secondary powers though when i choose Dark Radiation the Atom Smasher Power inmy secondary gives me the Bright Radiation color pallet. I thought to go bright and when i go with Bright Radiation my Radiation Syphon only offers the Dark Radiation pallet. I have had to go with the original for now but would like to be able to custom my powers to match the image i have in my head for my charcter.
  13. Welcome to the weekly cool characters thread #2! This is a thread I started last week in the General Discussions tab, but felt it fit in here better! Here is a place where you can share a picture or description of a hero/villain you've seen somewhere around Paragon City! I'll be creating a new thread here weekly to keep the flow fresh and not cluttered, as well as allow people the time to find characters they want to share! Note: To take a screenshot in City of Heroes, by default it is the Print Screen button! It automatically saves to your "Screenshots" folder where ever you put your launcher~! This week Ill show off this hero/villain I found in Pocket D who goes by the alias "Ashen Blade" (Seen centered in the picture below. I really love the colors used for the outfit, as well as just the clothing they selected. It feels very loose and free, reminds me of the Ultimate X-Men designs! The yellow and red stand out against the black in the outfit, which made it immediately catch my eye when I approached! She just looks like an Elf assassin? The ears, mask and hair give her a "royal assassin" feel that I enjoy a lot! I hope to see more of her around Paragon City!
  14. I don't know if this is something that already happens weekly because I'm relatively new to the community, but I've noticed how fun and creative people can get with this games ever-expansive character creator! So here it is! Week one of my idea with engaging with the community I've fallen in love with, a way to share cool heroes/villains either you've made or have seen around Paragon City! I'll be starting a new thread weekly to keep the flow fresh and not cluttered, as well as allow people the time to find characters they want to share! EDIT: I have realized that this should probably be in the "Art & Multimedia" forum, so if the mods would like I will host it there next week! EDIT 2: To take a screenshot in CoH is actually simple! Just press print screen! the game will automatically save the photo where ever you put your launcher in a "Screenshots" Folder! You can go into the settings and mess with the keybindings to toggle the UI and everything! I hope this helps everyone participate~! I'll start with a hero I found while leveling a new character who goes by the alias Toxic Stax! I really like the purple used on this character, it really reminds me of the purple used on the Transformer Shockwave. I like the brain instead of just a normal head or a full helmet, it adds a bit of lore to the character and compliments the bulkiness of his body. Something just made me stop and examine this character, as well as send a picture to a friend I'm trying to get into the game lol.
  15. I know this is minor but the sound on Psi Blade Sweep doesn't play when you switch it to the dark color set. Every other powers sound effect plays but psi blade sweep doesn't when switched to dark.
  16. Does anyone have the robot meshes and textures (normal, emission, etc.)? I'd like to make some variants and see how they look.
  17. This is the topic I will use to save and share all of my game characters, whether they are their own creations or copies of something that already exists. Enjoy 😄 Playing on Everlasting. Character Creations & Costumes Fire Fox Controller Fire/Thermal Radiation Behace Scrapper Broad Sword/Shield Defense Pingu Tanker Ice Armor/Ice Melee Stevonnie Brute Broad Sword/Shield Defense Ranger Slayer Blaster Archery/Martial Combat
  18. In order to help people "sound" the way they want to, I think it would be ideal to allow the setting of the default font per user, rather than having a global default.
