  1. Salt Crystals is a PBAoE Sleep that also has a defense debuff component. It was first introduced with Earth Control on Controllers, was proliferated to Earth Control for Domi's and then was made available as a Earth Mastery Epic Power. Most recently it was included in Blaster's Earth Manipulation. The defense debuff aspect of the power is not enhanceable for controllers, dominators, or when used with earth mastery. It is enhanceable with blaster's earth manipulation, and further allows the slotting of both defense debuff and accurate defense debuff enhancement sets. I propose, we standardize Salt Crystals to accept defense debuff enhancements for all instances of the power.
  2. I'm putting together a rather proccy Earth/Thermal, and see that Volcanic Gasses has fun pet power spam behavior similar to Carrion Creepers, and is ripe for proccing. However, it looks like Hold damage procs are likely to be much more effective given the way these entities work. Has anyone done any testing on how Ranged aoe procs stack up in comparison? My current slotting maxes out on the hold procs, but I'm weighing how worthwhile it is to fill the remaining slots with others. Thus far, I'm not seeing any such results in the forums, but perhaps one of you has some first-hand perspective!
  3. Edit: Updated build per some suggestions by @oedipus_tex I posted on a Plants/Thermal in an earlier thread, but ended up deciding to make a Plants/fiery dom instead, which worked out beautifully. In my previous discussion around /Thermal, I received some feedback that perhaps I was undervaluing the support power it brings, especially in really tough content. My very proccy Plants/Thermal put minimal investment into the shields and heals, but I'm here to correct that with a new combo, and as always would love your collective insight. Goals for this build: As is my way, proccing them powers out real nice-like. S/L softcapish - achieved. Would love ranged too, but this is a no go with a proc focus. A side dish of recharge resist as I can squeeze it in. Reliably hit +4's. Where I'd like to see some improvement if possible: Some more S/L resist to supplement the defense would be nice. I don't want to sacrifice above goals, however. More recharge would be good. In my proccing, I have sacrificed some of the obvious big recharge opportunities. One free slot somewhere to drop a -KB IO in. Not really sure where right now. I gueeeess I could downslot stone cages a bit more, but I like the S/L resist. Adjusted for this. General unanswered questions: Ideal proc slotting for Volcanic? @Carnifax gave me some guidance on how to test, and I will do so for sure once leveled. I don't really feel like spooling everything up on Beta to test in the meanwhile. Right now I'm going with hold procs as optimal, but if anyone has done the testing already on how effective Ranged aoe is, I'd love to hear, or if it's just a waste of time entirely and I should just do a Purple set instead. Is Earth's Embrace a waste? Between the Extra HP here and the occasional burst of absorb, this guy could theoretically get quite a big pad! I'm open to other ideas about a better one slot wonder though. Quicksand is a consideration - I have always liked it in the past. The build:
  4. What: Solid Stone (Stone/Earth Superteam) Where: Excelsior (first meeting under Atlas) When: Sundays at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific US (first meeting on 9 January) Who: The Justice Superteamers (the folks behind the Justice TA, Traps, Radiation, Blades, Earth, Gun, Darkness, Time, Water, Indomitable Sonic, and Excelsior Nature, Knockback, Electric, Thermal/Cold, Dark, TA, Guns, and Poison Superteams) Why: FUN, fortune, and glory! The Justice Superteamers run many projects to leverage the power of stacked (de)buffs and explore common themes to accomplish things that a random group could not. Come join us on Excelsior for our Solid Stone Superteam where we'll leverage the power of the earth to crush our foes. Long time vets and new players are all invited as we focus on fun with other friendly players. Power/Build Requirements: Must have one of the following Earth/Stone themed power sets: Earth Control, Earth Assault, Seismic Blast, Earth Manipulation, Stone Armor, or Stone Melee; bonus points for 2 of these sets. Required Powers(slotting): Maneuvers (2 slots worth of Defense enhancements by level 20). The following are suggested, but if you can't fit them all in, not required: Assault Tactics Other team-focused powers are great too: Vengeance, Victory Rush, Weaken Resolve, Spirit Ward, and Teleport Target are always useful. You're welcome to make use of your other build if you'd like to maintain a solo, PVP, or non project compliant build. Miscellaneous Details: Our first meeting will take place Sunday, Jan 9, 2022 at 8pm EST/5pm PST under the Atlas statue on Excelsior. Feel free to show up fresh from the tutorial (or even skip it). We'll be coordinating the group through use of a global channel named "Justice Superteamers". Everyone participating on this team must join the channel. (/chan_join "Justice Superteamers"). We have a Justice Superteamers SG with a fully functional base. Solid Stone members are welcome to join the SG and anyone is welcome to use the public base amenities with code: JST-19564. We also have a Discord channel for out of game and voice communication. We'll start in Paragon with some DFBs and KR scanners/banks, but will eventually make ourselves vigilantes/rogues so we can enjoy what the Rogue Isles have to offer. We'll be focusing on PVE content (Task/Strike Forces, Contact Arcs, Tips, the occasional newspaper/scanner, etc). There is no limit on the number of people that can join us. This isn't going to be a fixed group of 8; the more, the merrier. Feel free to show up late, roll a 2nd alt, etc. Super-Sidekick makes teaming incredibly easy. If you already have a character that fits the theme of this team, or won't be able to join us at the start of this team, don't worry; we'll accept you at any level, any time. Just note that if you're significantly beyond the rest of the team in terms of level, you should expect to exemplar down to the rest of the team most of the time. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post here or send a /t or email to @Perfect Square, @Hedgefund, or @EF in-game.
  5. Hi fellow Doms, I recently finished getting my earth/dark to 50 and thinking about crafting a build for her. One thing I have noted on my trip to 50 is how little I take notice of when domination is up other than when I need to refill my blue bar. So having perma-dom is not a necessary goal (but I usually would get it anyway). But I digress......at this point I see two paths a ranged domtroller that spams Gather Shadows boosted earthquake, volcanic gases, sleet, Ice storm and night fall. Or a melee orientated dom using the soul mastery + procced out engulfing darkness lay the smack down. (and tohit debuffs) I feel for either build intuition radial is the best choice with its damage, hold, defense debuffs, range and tohit debuffs. I suppose agility would work too. I am curious how others have built their toons or would build their toons
  6. Currently this is stalagmites in game: Stalagmites You can cause Stalagmites to erupt all around an enemy, damaging all nearby foes. The Stalagmites deal minimal Lethal damage, and can Disorient all affected targets for a good while, as well as reduce their Defense. You must be on the ground to activate this power. Damage Minor Recharge Slow Minimum Level 12 (Controller) 12 (Dominator) Effects Ranged Targeted Area of Effect Minor Damage (Lethal) Foe Disorient, -Defense Enhancements Enhance Accuracy Enhance Damage Reduce Endurance Cost Enhance Range Increase Attack Rate Enhance Disorient Duration Set Categories Targeted AoE Damage Stuns All around is a pretty decent power aside of a slow cast time and the fact that you have to be on the ground to use it. I understand the need to be on the ground for powers like grounded or where you visibly interact with the ground yourself. This power causes its effects to come from the ground to the enemies, not originating from the player, so the requirement of needing the ground doesn't make much sense to me. If that were changed to allow you to use while hovering that would be great. Additionally speeding up the cast time slightly would be desired. Thoughts?
  7. I'm certain I could do better with sets to get better def/resists. prolly next project. 8. Hello guys, last night i saw a post with a Plant/Poison build by @Frosticus so i decided to change it into Earth/Poison because earth is love, earth is life etc etc. So i ended up with a build that i think it needs more S/L defense (+4,5% more to softcap). Any suggestions? http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1537&c=715&a=1430&f=HEX&dc=78DA65944B4F13511886CFB453A0A5A5949616CABD140A9416068D3B432256834242E407900606DA886DD3D644548898F81B58A03FC098B85474E70F70A9B870EF858B26AE7453BFCEFB9636E9A4CD73E6BB9DF77CE79C597E70DDFDFAE6FEBCD23A17B6D3A5D2DA423E572EE6B7B7CDA26339BD955D57D5A755FEC3754F2D28994A17CB99DA5BB021E0DAFDCDCDE44A3E5BCAE77C8BB98C593473E5646DE05AC94BEE6AC13437DCD670C94C17B2B92D6FED65C32C9632D982C77ABF91DDCA94C5DB952A64D793ABE57CCE5C5B4E97CA6671A74764C5E5FF58537C2A0E65D8943274659B26EF6916F5B47040386DB7DE5B52E0AD90A459F915A546C416D3D5AE4693AAE8DA21F2DB8E9445570479AE6FA07B0EF3DC913A76E4D8EC2D766BAE968FF0B57D10FA75B527A51C88518E38EA8DB6A2BD555BEB57C447C4E0844D7332CE4D3E911AEDD4D6BE036D230FC947E42E18DD038352CF8335DA3CDDB005FE407FF036E893182F7BE8654CA78B74835D1EB28335BCE0BEC087FA0EDF1BAC61F02D387C44BE239F8131F6449379FD5CBF3F8C35DAC5D68D7A5A7708FB169C834E5D7C21CE15A2CE1EEAECA1CE307586A9B39F3A9F0A7AD9BBDE4F36ABEEF867F298FC02C6FE41E76140A93EE4D8FB7866FA79A60679A60619EB176D035CCBC04BB105A447621BA26D887A9F4BCD087B1D79859AA38BA8317A95E41CD179F8A3E7D0F54272C7586F8C3D3C959009F66482E77392E77572073193ECFBD41592E7F7AF1B77A89A1B1F876F3A46C6C9BBA895A0A6C49AB2EEC999944872DE24D736C3BD98E15ECC702F0CEE85C1BD3897DC59AE639667BB5FBFB8C7F293A7BAE09AA532D5E49D6DB2184D964B4D96CB4D9625BDE11BE0C49A57F48B6F80D2A8CFD97971C72B672EF133474BC0FFAB6E7368DFD1DF8E1F60EC27387502264E41E30C3C6FAC37817ABFEB364D3B80AE8E61F85272690CF82A070DE3F791FA381CA88F8F1B624EA2F5F17F2CC7E973
  9. Just like the title says, I have a pretty neat (to me) concept Dominator with Earth Control as my Primary and Dark Assault as my Secondary. The only problem is, I would PREFER it to be a viable build. So far it is fun and really packs a wallop to my enemies' "to hit." But, I can't seem to slot it very well, and while I understand the basic concept behind perma-dom, I am not getting there (hasten 2 slotted with 50 IOs). In short, I have NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING. But when I play, I have fun. Just cannot seem to play very fast, or with too many mobs. Would anyone happen to have a build laying around they wouldn't mind sharing? Much obliged in advance! ~Beorn
