  1. Thanks to everyone for coming to my totally unplanned, All Kheld ITF while I vacationed on Everlasting. I didn't get a chance to nab everyone's globals before we departed. Sorry if I missed anyone. Was a cool 4/4 split for WS to PB ratio. If you see this post, feel free to DM me and I'll update it. WS - Starflash @ScarySai WS - Doomrider (me) WS - Sergon the Exiled @protocol 9 (not sure if correct) WS - Sunset Amethyst PB - Light Impact @Gravinetix PB - -Valchiria PB - Letharar PB - Captain BOOM @Mister Action
  2. Good day! I, @Scrapbot, have returned to the Everlasting server after a series of unfortunate events oddly timed with a global pandemic. With my return, I am returning to this contest! So, if there are AE mission makers out there, add your submissions here and I will post my non-farm AE contest winners weekly! This is the return, so there might be a few hiccups. Anyhow, for those that don't know, here's the rub: I take submissions for AE missions via the ingame email to @Scrapbot from the Arc's creator (1 Arc per person). Submissions for the week are Monday to Friday giving me time to play submissions (capped at 5 a week because I'm human) Winner is announced here on Sunday but gets winnings via ingame email (I just reply to the submission) Winnings are the INF gained from playing all submissions solo and an additional amount I contribute (Don't worry if you have a low level arc, the winnings still balance out over the total). Basics of my grading I set the difficulty to 0/+2 and solo each Arc on one of my level 50s (this is where the pot comes from) When time allows or missions dictate, I will replay Arcs with a team again at 0/+2 (my part of this also get added into the pot) Grading is after I complete the Arc so that that I can see everything the creator envisioned (some objectives or enemies may not make sense during a mission but make sense by the end of the arc) Generally, how arcs are rated: - Objectives to story (do the mandatory tasks make sense to what the POC is telling me; Why am I pummeling everyone for a B&E? Is it just excessive or is there something more sinister? Are you cleverly masking a farm?) - Enemy group utilization (Was thought put into my enemies? Are you cleverly masking a farm?) - Lore stuff (it doesn't have to match CoX lore, but a story needs some context even if it is self contained. i.e. Why am I fighting the enemy group FLOWER CORP?) - The little things (some intangibles that bleed into the other fields, such as - Writing style should be on par with, or beyond, my 8 year old; Are AE mechanics incorporated to enhance the arc? Why is the super valuable do-hickey being kept in a cardboard box? etc.) - Was it Fun (I feel this is frequently underrated; did I enjoy your arc, would I play it again? Did I want to enter into the story you created? Would I bring other people into your world with me? Was I glad to play it or just glad it is over?) Caveats Not related to the Developer's Choice for AE - This is Scrapbot's Choice. Difficulty is not really a factor unless it is marked solo friendly and is definitely not solo friendly. Notes will contain: Winner Arc ID, all other submission IDs, total winnings, some of my comments. -- I'm still trying to gauge how much of my personal comments will go on here - I want to inform, not flame, about arcs. On team playthroughs, I will take constructive comments from my team members... but they are not Scrapbot and don't have to take heat for the final ruling. On Saturday, I will email the contributors I will be playing to let them know they got in - so, if you didn't get an email, you submitted late and should resubmit the following Monday. -- If I missed a submission for whatever reason, let me know and I will go back and check - if it was missed (not disqualified for being a farm) I will rate it with the following weeks submissions. In rare cases of 1 mission existing per ID but forming 1 arc, let me know and I will rate them together as one arc but it is up to you to provide those IDs, I won't hunt for them.
  3. There look to be two places that could be 'appropriate' for this kind of thing, and I'm not sure which I should have done, so, I'll do both 🙂
  4. DETAILS WHERE: HALL-22329 (SATURDAY), Red-18852 (SUNDAY) WHEN: April 23rd - 24th / Saturday & Sunday! WHAT: A RP-SG/VG recruitment faire with costume contests & trivia alike! PRIZES: 5 Billion Influence [3/27/2022 - Updated] HOSTS: Shadeknight (@Shadeknight), ??? UPDATE 3/27/2022 MOVING FORWARD: THE FAIR Date: April 23rd - 24th [Saturday - Sunday] Time: 5PM Central / 6PM Eastern With the date settled, it is time to begin moving forward. I am going to be splitting this event / celebration out across three days. This will be watched to see how effective it is / how wanted it is versus a two day thing. One step closer to perfecting the event! So what does this mean? Well, let's get down to it! SATURDAY: TRIVIA/COSTUME CONTESTS [APRIL 23RD / 4PM CST/5PM EST] The start to the weekend-long fair & celebration is the trivia and costume contests. Are you a reader of all things DC, Marvel, and Image (Invincible)? Have you committed the Marvel/DC movies to your memory? Do you know a little too much about Spider Man? Bring that to this day and try your luck against the community! However, that's not all. Three costume contests will be happening to deliver the prize pool to the Best Hero, Best Villain, and Best Team. Given the theme of the celebration, this means bring a character that looks like they'd belong in an Age of Comics or a Superhero Movie. Best Team means TWO to EIGHT people. One person from each team will be given the total prize money to dish out among all participants from their team. The team needs to look cohesive and show unity in some form between one another. Supergroups that will participate in this, please limit yourself to eight people at most for this Costume Contest! At this time I am looking for judges to help me with the Costume Contests. SATURDAY/SUNDAY: RECRUITMENT FAIRS [5PM CST/6PM EST] On Saturday, we will hold the Heroic Recruitment Fair! Any roleplay group that fits within the Hero / Vigilante side of things will be able to set up in a base (code to be dropped on the day of the event) and spread yourselves out evenly/as best as possible. During this evening, anyone can drop by (bearing in mind the base, etc) and see if a group fits their character. Alternatively, forge new alliances for your group/character! On Sunday, we will hold the Villainous Recruitment Fair! A location will be provided on the day of, and vigilantes and rogues can set up and recruit! Bring your evil societies, your Arachnos unit, and more! If you operate in unlawful grounds and situations this event is for you. Similarly, forge new deals and orchestrate potential backstabbings at this event! During both days, it is asked that groups do not spam recruitment messages. We ask that people keep it to once every 10-15 minutes if possible. If that doesn't work, then a new method will be attempted next year. Groups that are coming: Please do not flood either base with your members. This means no recruitment bots! Please keep it to actual players only on actual characters! How can I help? So you want to help. One of two ways! Prize Donation If you wish to donate a prize (influence, IOs, something else idk) for the contests/trivia please send it to (@)Shadeknight in-game or drop it off to my actual character. Last year we had over 9 billion influence given away in total - between IOs and Influence. If you want to coordinate dropping off any prizes, please DM me! Prize cutoff is the day of the 22nd! If there is an unorthodox reward (art commission or something else, by some luck) then please coordinate with me ASAP! Co-host/Co-judge Generally, its a hefty task to run these things! Lots of interest, lots of people - I myself do not mind if anyone wishes to step up. All this entails is keeping track of groups for Day 2 & 3 + helping me judge the Costume Contests on Day 1! Co-hosts can also funnel feedback to me as they hear it during the night, and any adjustments we can make on the fly? We will try! 5. I will be hosting "Introductions to roleplaying" sessions biweekly Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening at 5:30PM EST starting this week. (7/16/21 being the first class night.) Classes are walk-in welcome and held in different locations each session. Monday will be Q&A for any topics, or issues that came up during the weekend class sessions and for work-shopping character backgrounds, details for bio writing, and other roleplaying related information to be shared and worked on as a group. Sessions are NOT a requirement, and players can join the Q&A sessions for a fast work through and problem solving workshop if desired. New teachers or guides are welcome to join the sessions to get an idea of how I'm working with the planner and organizing their own scheduled sessions in turn if desired as well. I do not expect to headline this forever, but I welcome mentors and guides that would like to participate to sit in during a session or two before beginning their own scheduled sessions, and please join the Roleplaying Guides Collaborative club so we can make sure schedules don't overlap one another and organize the planners so we cover the most important topics first. If you would like to participate or just want to dip in and see what this is all about, I only ask that we are respectful towards one another as players of the same game and not to interrupt or override one another in chat. These sessions will be hosted on Everlasting on my main character, Crystal Dragon, and I do welcome anyone that is willing to to dip into new ways to enjoy the game content. There will be other mentors that will be hosting their own scheduled sessions most likely in the future and are trying to work with the same scheduled times and days so that we can take in more new players at once, and do our best to guide them along the way. Mentors signed up @CrystalDragon @McSpazz @SolSoldier Guest Mentors (Irregular mentors willing to assist with the sessions and guide things along.) Wingman @Wylde Fyre (Will fix if this tags the wrong Mel!) @Grey-Ghost Fox Fyre @Shadeknight TBA (And yes, if you wish to sign up as a mentor, we're looking for more!) This will get updated as new mentors volunteer and I want to thank everyone for taking your time to vote and letting me know in-game what issues are the biggest to approach and tackle in the first sessions, I cannot tell you how valuable that input is for shaping these meetups. Uh, might need translators fluent in Portuguese and Spanish in the near future. (Saw some Roleplayers speaking Portuguese and roleplaying in Atlas Park today and this reminded me that there were other languages spoken and used in a game that may need translations.)
  6. Greetins', all ya palookas and dames! It is I, Raffles The Clown, maybe you've heard of me (Probably not, though), and I'm hosting my first ever Costume Contest! The Theme shall be - Mafioso "But Raffles", I'm sure you're thinking, "Why this theme, of all things?" Well it's certainly not because I owe The Marcones a show...definitely not that. What would ever give you that impression?! At any rate, this theme just felt fun to me, and I hope you all have fun with it, too! As this is my first ever Costume Contest, I'm going to be keeping it a bit on the small side; There will be only one Winner, one judge (Yours truly), and a prize of Twenty Five Million Influence! That number might increase between now and the time of the Contest, but I make no promises in that respect. You know how it is, you make promises to the wrong people about money, and before ya know it, you're getting fit for concrete shoes and pine pajamas! But enough about my weekends. The Contest will be held Monday, the 28th, and keeping in-theme, will be held at Spanky's Boardwalk at The Talos Luau. Just ask Null the Gull in Pocket D, but ya didn't hear it from me, see? Important Official Nonsense I should probably include for clarification so nobody is disappointed: - To narrow down what I'm looking for, look no further than The Family, or The Rogue Isle's own Mooks. Think colorful, expensive two piece suits, tommy guns, and fedoras. It can be cartoonish and silly, or rather gritty and serious. Of course, I'm all for putting creative spins on the classic stereotypical mobsters, and maybe even the odd Femme Fatale thrown in for good measure. Don't roll up as a one-to-one copy of a Button Man or Dick Tracy and expect to go home with the prize! I want to see the genre stretched to its limits! - For outside reference material, I highly recommend fare such as Dick Tracy, Lackadaisy, Boardwalk Empire, Moonshine (The Comic Book), Goodfellas, The Godfather, Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, L.A. Noire, and Rocky and Mugsy from the Bugs Bunny Cartoons. - The exact date is Monday the 28th, at 12:00:00 PM, Pacific Standard Time (PST). To get to the Talos Luau, go to the redside of Pocket D, and speak to Null The Gull, who is sitting on top of a box truck there. Ask him first, "What can you do?", then ask, "Could you send me to a different place?". Finally, ask, "Send me to the Luau in Talos Island." Hope to see you there, and remember: Omerta means "Silence".

  11. For over a month now, I have been working hard on a very special, top-secret base editing project, and now that it has been completed and tested I am delighted to introduce to you the Evermaze! The Evermaze is a combination maze, scavenger hunt, and escape room. It has many areas which could be utilized for roleplaying or for thematic screenshots, and can be enjoyed alone or with friends. There are portals hidden throughout the maze which lead to other areas, and within those areas more portals are hidden. I have written clues to find the interactive objects, which can be found here attached to images of the areas in which they are located. The last clue refers to an object located within the maze itself. I left the top of the maze open so that you can choose to fly, jump, or teleport over it to access different areas if you so choose. Please be aware that this can be dangerous as you could potentially fall to your death, Management will not be held responsible for injury or death caused by crossing the boundaries of the maze. You can visit the Evermaze using the base passcode EVERMAZE-8637. Please feel free to send me an in-game e-mail at @kyothinks if you have any questions or comments. Thank you!

  16. So I been reading this comic book lately many recommended for called Astro City, and let me tell you. It really gotten me interested despite the odd concepts. Like, how they made their Superman a 35th century hero blasted to the past to prevent human destruction, or Winged Victory being a troubled woman and was gifted with magical abilities, and so much more made me thinking. What obscured and odd 'trippy' concepts can you guys think of to publish here to see what you would oddly create if you were in Astro City?
