About Me

  1. Ok this pain in the ass changing from anything into human form with no shields up frankly sucks ass. Is there a macro to change into human form and activate shields? At least Gravity Shield and Shadow Cloak, popping into human from Dwarf to hasten and Stygian Circle equal face plant in a mob.
  2. Ok, my newest foray into the world of Domination has led me to a new idea/theme. Hence, Fire and Earth Assault, while attempting the build which is perma, I have found that concessions had to be made to sort of get him to where he is at. There is literally like 10 things that can be thrown at once to really knock some enemies into the twilight zone...flash-fire, smoke, bonfire, fire cages, etc, etc. But, that's another issue I will figure out through playing the toon, but, hot damn sssooo many choices. Which I figured blast the hell out of the baddies, lock 'em down, hop in and smash them to chewy bits of BBQ deliciousness. In addition I tried to get close on def/res caps for s/l. Anyways, I have prepared a build, please, look over and let me know if there is anything that can be changed, or that I missed, or just general advice. I did not factor in Incarnate stuff as that is not my way. This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.1.1.2 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 3. EDIT: I remembered wrong, thanks for verifying y'all I thought I was going crazy lmao I grew up playing COH & COV & have fond memories of using the Poison powerset among many others. I created a Corruptor yesterday w/ Psychic blast & Poison powersets, but when I started playing the game I noticed an issue with Poison powerset's first ability, Alkaloid. In the original game Alkaloid could be used as an attack against enemies, or as a heal for friendlies depending on who you had targeted. Now however, Alkaloid is unable to be used as an attack power against foes. Is there a reason for this change? Is this a glitch? Can this be fixed so that the power matches up with the power's description? While it's not game breaking by any means, it was a huge disappointment to discover the power doesn't work the way it's supposed to. Would LOVE to see this fixed or hear any feedback on this issue. I know it's not everyone's favourite powerset, but if it's in the game it should work the way it was meant to, no?
  4. I have installed the game and created an account profile. But now I can't find the game on my PC, or icon or any way to launch the game? Could someone help me with this?
  5. I remember reading a great thread about the most common damage resistance types across the many enemy groups in the game that someone put together and posted on these forums. Problem is, I can't remember the name of the thread or who posted it (or when really). After searching for this thread and coming up empty handed I figured I would ask any other forum goers who can remember what I am talking about, and if possible post a link to said topic. Many thanks from a misrememberer!
  6. Ok, ok, I looked around, searched through threads, found a couple here and there. BUT, not too much info. So who's got that golden ticket, who's gonna be my Willy Wonka to my Charlie, Virgil to my Dante on this little trip? Leveling a WS is a different kind of beast to be sure, I'm going tri to benefit from everything this AT can offer. I'm at a whopping lvl 9 now heading into the Hollows, and following Dechs MF Warshade as a guide of sorts. So any help, advice, etc is of course appreciated. Yeah macros, I won't remember anything else, getting old, foggy brained, yada yada yada.
  7. Hello, I made a build with energy blast and mental manipulation /w the sorcery pool power and I'm having trouble with getting a good defense on it I attached the build below if anyone wants to take a look at it thanks in advance. Nexous - Blaster (Energy Blast).mxd Scarlet CHA0S - Blaster (Energy Blast).mxd
  8. Been messing with mine and it is just hard to figure out slotting for me, I have respec'd so many times and seem to fail either in end, or soft capping. INF isn't an issue just tired of waiting it on this toon.
  9. Sooooooo....I have a spine/fire planned out, but I tweaked my plan a little and I have 9 slots leftover for Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection. How would you recommend I slot them? If there's one left over after your help, I could slot in fly and be faster, which of course would be fun lol 🙂 Everything else is done. Please! Post a Mids link to your build. It's just easier for me. Thanks!
  10. I am working on a Dark/Shield Brute and I saw two builds on here and wondered what people thought of em'. I was thinkin' of using one of em.
  11. First of all sorry for the wall of text. But I want to make the attempt to get across how I play and what I like about Nature and that I want to see the SCOURGE! I really enjoy playing Nature/ and /Nature. I have a Beast/Nature and Demons/Nature Mastermind (mmm. the resists on demons/nature). I also have a Nature/Ice Defender. I never have leveled a Corruptor past around level 25ish. So I decided to take the Defender and see if I could do a straight swap over to Corruptor. Of course I've found out that the Defenses that were softcapped on the Defender are not soft capped on the Corruptor. Unless I've made a drastic overlook the builds are a true 1 to 1 swap except for Superspeed changing to Fly and Combat Jumping to Hover. I also swapped the Superior Winters Strike, and Thunder Strike IO to each others attacks. It seems to make sense, but it may not even matter damage wise. I also don't really build for Incarnate skills in the builds. This will probably be the first 50 toon that I'm going to actually incarnate. I generally base my builds on how they do in the PI Portal Mission set at +4x8 solo. Right or wrong, I don't know 🙂 Anyways I digress... Lets get to the guts... Defender Stats Corruptor Stats To give some context here is how I generally play Nature when solo. - Entangling Aura one of my loves about the set and I use it as CC and just jump into the fray. I like to have it slotted with at least a few Hold durations to make sure the LT's stay locked down longer since it just a "high" chance to hold mobs. It seems to help the duration bleed over until the next hold pulse lands. I've tried builds with it just 1 slotted with the lockdown +2 mag proc but mobs breaking free still seem to happen a lot due to just the "high" chance not ticking enough and the hold dropping. However, when it comes to slotting, I'm open to any slotting in it as long as it has some hold duration. (unless I'm completely misunderstanding how Entangling Aura's chance to hold and its hold duration actually operates) 1. I use LIfegiving Spores for topping off End and as a Heal patch, I will lay it down from range before I jump into the mob group. 2. Pop Overgrowth > Wilde Bastion > Wild Growth 3. Jump in and slap on Spore Cloud onto a boss for the -to hit 4. Generally, mobs are cc'd at this point. then I cast aoe's and start cycling attacks on the bosses. In groups I will still jump in, but I kind of go with the flow based on team composition and what needs to be done. You know basic adaptability. I don't want to be burden or disrupt flow for everyone. Any ways. I attempted to focus the builds on Recharge to and also Proc'ing attacks as I could. I am posting both builds to see if someone can just give me some input to see I have over looked any Corruptor specific things like the Corruptor ATO' usage. I also want to know if I've made any drastic slotting mistakes that can be cleaned up. The defender version works really really really well 🙂 For corruptors am I using the correct attacks? Should I unproc some? I'm open to anything. Corruptor Build: Defender Build:
  12. This is and it may be obvious to all of you, my first fully done build from scratch. The goal for this build was to constantly maintain 400% recharge at all times or at least the massive majority of that time I chose energy for the force feedback proc and rad emission for the -regen when fighting AV's My hope from posting this here is to figure out what the hell happened to my endurance and why it is in the negatives Looking into the future I see myself having lots of endurance issues so I will be taking cardiac and ageless I'll take the -defense for interface and assault for hybrid (not a big fan of lore) The reason why I put this info here is because I couldn't get it to show up on mids I believe the endurance regen bug comes when your recharge passes 400%. To expert builders this thing may look like a shit show so feel free to tear it apart and call me an idiot lol. Best of luck - Reningrendir https://www.midsreborn.com/builds/download.php?uc=1379&c=676&a=1352&f=HEX&dc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
  13. There are a lot of nice guides in this forum, but I still get a little lost in knowing what to do with which enhancements I should sell, and which ones I should convert and then sell. So I'm going to start this thread and list what enhancements I've crafted and then ask you, the experts, whether I should straight sell, or convert to something else and then sell. All of these IO's are Level 50 (unless stated different) that I crafted today. Should I straight sell them, or is there something I should convert them to and then sell? (level 10) Unspeakable Terror: Acc/End Jaunt: End/Range Extreme Measure: Acc/Range/Rech (weird one - last purchases range are 200,000. 8,000,000. 8,500,000. 21,000,000. 4,000,000) Artillery: Acc/Dam/Rech Lethargic Repose: Acc/Sleep/Rech Enfeebled Operation: Acc/Immobilize Lockdown: Acc/Rech Gladiators Strike: Damage/Rech Experience Marksman: Dam/End/Interrupt Red Fortune: Def/End Red Fortune: Def/End/Rech Blood Mandate: Damage/End Perfect Zinger: Taunt Mocking Beratement: Taunt/Range I will post more probably in a few days as I play and farm. Post here if you have similiar questions. I think we need to make sure that it contains IO Name and effect, IO Level. If the thread develops maybe we can find a good format or develop a master list of common recommendations.
  14. If you had these, how would you slot them? (Didn't know where to post this. Not a certain archetype..) Combat Jumping (For Defense) Rune Of Protection (For Damage Resistance) Arcane Bolt (Offense Attack)
  15. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations for a tri-form PB trying to hit the softcap in defense in any one damage type? Or, as close as possible? I just don't know how to get there and perhaps I am missing something... Is it possible? (Note, I am unable to post builds due to being on Mac). Thanks for any help!
  16. Couple things first...this is not a "can't you post a Mids build for me" thread, secondly, I have yet to make a Sent. That being said, my question is advice or better yet let me explain my thoughts, I intend to make this toon as a ranged blitz attack style, the secondary will be purely for ranged def and probably S/L because caves, council bases, the claustrophobic areas..you get it. So can a Sent be effective for this play style? With the primary acting as a control damage set because of the KB to force them away if they get too close plus damage obviously, couple this with the "speedster" aspect of SS, and the def and high rech. I've read some of the threads on Sent's and I get the gist of their functionality and how it can be beneficial to team dynamics (seriously what AT isn't in some way), I have a VG mate who loves his Sent's and after watching him enough I know there is a definite viability to them. So now I want to try them. So before I go the route of spending an hour on Mids, min/max a possible build to be proofread, what advice would you give?
  17. I'm having a problem with the Mission Architect system - namely, the game stops responding when I try to make profiles for my custom NPCs. Every time I finish such a profile - in the same format as the hero I.D. cards - the game stops responding, and I get the "program has stopped responding" prompt that means I have to close or wait for the program to respond. And no matter how long I wait, I always have to close the game in the end. When I log back in, I find that my work was saved. But I shouldn't have to go through this EVERY SINGLE TIME I make a new AE NPC. I need some help, here. I want to know how this is happening, and how to fix it. It's making me very upset, because I used to be a very prolific AE writer, and it's hard to get back into the groove when things like this prevent me from putting in the details I would like!
  18. hey all so I played yesterday and today the window doesn't open when I launch the game. I get this error now. I have not moved the files i was using tequila and i did validate the files just fine. I installed the homecoming launcher thinking it might have been tequila but i get the same message.
  19. Hello All, Im fairly new to Homecoming, but was an original player. I was fairly young at that time when the game first launched and didnt really get to know how to properly build a tank and such. I have now beeing playing a Street Justice and Willpower Brute. 22. Currently, I have one level 50+ and it's a brute. Now I want to work towards a blaster, him being level 32 fire/fire. After doing a quick search, I wasn't able to find what I was looking for. Are there any good builds already that someone could share, or is it to soon to start worrying about builds? Mainly I wanted to focus on massive AoE Damage while having the Mystical Flight for my theme of Fireball wizard.
  23. I have this character, Mackintosh, who's a sentient cloak--think MCU Dr. Strange's cape or Carpet from Aladdin. The body/mannequin is there only because the character creator forced me to have one. To keep this short, I'll put Mack's bio in a reply. One of the RP hurdles is that Mack can't speak. Mack is weakly telepathic and can "hear" that way, but it can't really have a conversation. I've mostly been talking OOC, or using thoughts to describe physical actions. 1) Anyone have a non-speaking toon and have tips to share? 2) How would I craft some macros/keybinds for common actions? "Mackintosh flies up to $target and swirls around them in greeting" 3) Would the example in #2 violate the no-touching rule of RP etiquette?
  24. So my volcano-shaman Earth/Fire dominator has been creeping through the mid-forties, which is traditionally when I start thinking about an endgame build for them. And I've reached the point where I've been staring at Mids for so long that I'm not sure anything even makes sense anymore, so I figured it was about time to throw it up on the forums to get some more eyes on it. Some of my thoughts: Despite having quicksand on my live build, I probably don't actually need it: Stone Cages does almost as much -def and will also stick a group to the floor. It's gone. I've gone back and forth on Incinerate: On one hand, it hits like a truck, on the other hand it's got weirdly little impact (not satisfying to use) and the rest of the set really is encouraging me to stand back and blast instead of closing to melee. Gone, replaced by Kick to get into Tough and Weave later. I was mostly building for recharge and ranged defense. I went with Teleport because Stone Golem is *blind* and I can use TP Ally to yeet him into enemy spawns to take the alpha. I have no idea how to slot Quicksand, Earthquake, or Volcanic Gasses. Quicksand I've gotten rid of, Earthquake I've seen slotted for -tohit, I've been told 'only slot for recharge', and I've been told it makes a great Force Feedback mule, and Volcanic Gasses I've been told only to use recharge and hold/damage procs (NOT AoE damage procs) in. I have no idea if the Unbreakable Constraint is any good in there. Fiery Orb I've also heard is bad, but I think it's super thematic for my character so It's staying. I don't know if it'll have a single chance to proc on Volcanic activation, or if the geysers that appear all have their own chance to pop out a fiery orb. I hope it's the latter and I hope they appear IN the gas zone; but I'll have to go to the test server and check (if nobody can answer for me). Also, Unbreakable Constraint is totally a 'You can't break these cuffs!' meme reference. Too many purples? Maybe. Softcapped ranged defense is something, yeah? There was probably a more intelligent way to use those teleport power slots than just getting BotZ ranged defense over and over again. It's not permadom, but the patch powers don't actually benefit from domination, so. Not sure if it's as mission critical here. I did spec out of Rune of Protection, so maybe I'm underestimating how badly mez will screw me up in play without that panic button. I have an irrational dislike of Hasten, that's why it's not in this build. I kinnd of wanted to swap the Essence of Curare in Fossilize for Devastation: Chance for Hold but I am unsure how good of an idea that is. I could probably squeeze in more recharge (at 92.5% now) with more purple sets: 23.75% more at the cost of 7.5% ranged defense. I am unconvinced this is a good trade. 25. So, I am about to get my first 50 since over a decade ago, and that terrifies me! I was never very good at making builds, and things like Mids sort of confuse me. However, I want to learn how to understand building a character instead of just asking for somebody to hand me a build and me still not really understanding what it all means and not being able to build future characters. I think all this is why I have so many alts and no 50's... getting to the end game and trying to figure everything out is scary! That said, I still don't have a patron power thing-a-majig because... well, I don't really know anything about them; i.e. how to get them, which one to pick, etc. I don't know anything about alphas or what to do there when my MM hits 50. I went chill mastery for theme; not sure if it's good or not. I have every power in the cold powerset as I was not familiar with it, so not sure if anything there is skippable. I find the only power I don't much use out of is Frostwork. And I only have 2 pool powers - Leadership and Speed. I know I probably should go Fighting and get Tough/Weave, but I'm already so toggle and end heavy as-is, I didn't want to add more to it yet. So, with Sara Falin at level 47, I hope some of you friendly and helpful folks that are far more knowledged than myself at this stuff can help me learn how to build this character so that I may no longer feel scared about getting my toons to the level 40+ range out of fear that people will figure out I don't really know what I'm doing. 😅 And thank you in advance for any/all help provided.
