  1. So I know in the past you needed a large amount of people to simultaneously take down the resonators. Does this hold true today? I want to lead a small team this weekend and don't want the restrictions of defeating the pylons within 35 seconds of each other.
  2. Ok there's a thread going on in suggestions about a pvp/pve zone event. I see that it is getting the usual responses "I don't pvp" or "thats why I play CoH because there is no zone pvp", etc. Now regardless of the underlying question of pvp, there is some well thought out ideas on how this could occur, and there has been some contributions that make it make more sense or questions regarding how it would work. BUT, there is some that its straight up "thumbs down " on ideas even if they are good to one that suggested "PvPers would intentionally try to cause people to fail the event". Ok, that's some irrational kind of thinking. I mean seriously are people that frightened of pvp that they would rather dismiss it without any kind of discourse or so paranoid that the PvPers are lurking in the background ready to strike??? Not too mention the #1 thing its in the Suggestions section which means it isn't going anywhere, it won't be implemented, and its just a conversation piece. But, true to form and I don't want to touch upon any real life things but, you definitely see people freaking out, hating something, or being totally dismissive on a subject because of some emotional knee jerk response. I mean hell you could say there's a cadre of players out there just waiting to taunt a GM into a drone so people will fail it or knowingly mess people up on the ski course. Sorry thats just paranoid, as a person who used to pvp I can name one time in all those years that someone intentionally did something in pvp that was a dick move. Compared to the multiple times some ass droned a GM in Atlas or Sharkhead for example. I cannot fathom how a game can cause people to have such paranoia or anxiety. In addition to that how can you not have the same ill effects during PVE? You can fail that, you can get kicked off a team, have arguments, get screamed at, etc, etc yet pvp puts you into panic mode??? I just don't get it, you would rather be an ass, snarky, and generally rude when someone suggests an idea but, YOU don't like it when pvp happens because you might get attacked in a game. Strangely, enough I don't think the imaginary "evil PvPers " are the issue. P.S. While some might not enjoy it because its just not their cup of tea then good on you. I don't do alot of things in this game so I can understand that type of thinking.
  3. Ok per a few conversations with @oedipus_tex and @arcane in this thread. And perusing the Dom section, there are 2 things I do not see namely Gravity and Rad together. So now this sparks my interest. I figure with Dimensional Shift, Wormhole/Fold Space to me where they are battered with Rad melee powers and the pets doing what pets do (pooping on the floor and humping your leg) seems like a legit way to turn baddies into red pancake batter. So now I have an idea and next a build! So off to the laboratory to create my monster, and now fast forward a couple days later, still no lightning or"spark" of genius on the build. That being said, I do have a build but, I feel its just "mehtastic", this is where you come in to critique and possibly swap out the old "Abby Normal" brain and give it more of a Braniac kind of brain. But, Dimensional Shift>Fold Space/Wormhole>Splatter time is what it has to be. So without further adieu, my build. 4. I know Dimensional Shift from Gravity Control is one such power. But, what other ones are out there that do the same or sorta the same thing? Coming up with an idea for a toon in which that power is centric to their build with everything else being support for that power or personal protection ie tough/weave, PP, etc.
  5. Is there a list of devs and GMs that lists their specialty? You know like Piecemeal, Villain Development. I know quite a few but not all, and I think it would be nice if we had such a list in case we had specific questions. Then we would know who to ask directly.
  6. Anyone run a VEAT on the ASF? Trying to figure how viable they are.
  7. Do y'all incorporate armors into your builds or more of a devil may care "I'll kill them before they get me" kind of attitude? I keep getting stuck on planning out a build on Mids because I'm trying to figure out what to take. The big thing is do I try to get cap on def/res or one or the other or just forget it.
  8. Is there an updated list of all the badges for Halloween? Also, ones which benefit from Halloween like Crotoa being dark and ghosts constantly spawning. I've gotten badges in the past from Halloween but never a serious attempt and last year just didn't have time working on the Covid ward. Any help is appreciated. 🎃 👻 🎃 👻 😱
  9. So this is actually my oldest toon on HC and the least played. A shame to be sure, the current build is a ranged tank with pets. I prefer to change it up with a hybrid mix of melee, ranged, and pets. I went heavy for the res/def and you'll see that in the slotting. I skipped serum, while I am a fan of Max HP especially perma I just couldn't fit it in the build. Overall I'm just looking for a critique before I commit and respec, to see if there are any possible changes or insight into something I have overlooked. 10. Had an idea for a villain that is like Protean (since we have a million costume slots) that can assume various identities. That being said I figured Blasters(maybe) have that range to have different powers, melee/ranged/holds/immobilizes, etc that would fit a character of that type. Not to mention powers can be changed in some instances not only the colors but how they are cast or different animations for melee. So now the question what primary/secondary/PP would fit that scope? I was thinking of doing an Arachnos, Longbow, civilian, hero, villain, Vanguard, etc as different costume options. Thinking caps on and let the creative juices flow! (Eeeww)
  11. @M3z still around? I read your guide on pvp mm options from 2019. You talk up thug/psn with Leviathan? Did you ever runs this build or have a Mids build? I saw your build for necro/psn figured conversation would be easy and your recommendations for Leviathan slotting. I ran my necro mm through Warburg recently and was slaying (which surprised the hell out of me) until it was a 5 vs me and well no fun by then. Anyways I have a thug/psn at 50 not slotted and unsure what to do with until I saw your thread. Any advice?
  12. So I know they get a bad rap, but, I enjoy the necro set. Yeah, they are mindless and f!cked up an LRSF or two, at least in my experience. But, I like them. So my question is how does everyone typically slot them? Is there powers that I should skip? I have it paired with /storm because honestly hurricanes, tornados, and lightning storms PLUS zombies seems like chaos and my oh my i love me some chaos. So let me know, your experience, advice, whatever, I'm open and ready to hear it.
  13. Heya all, had some questions on two sets I have zero experience with on MM's. Went primarily for s/l on def/res with rech. Let me know your thoughts/advice. 14. The Experience I went digging, I do a lot of sleuthing about on the nitty gritty of the game these days, looking for a small bit of information on a specific Task Force the other night that I found myself soloing simply for the heck of it. By the other end of it I came up pretty empty handed both in regards to that Task Force, and just the general fact that there was strangely a lack of discussion around the idea of soloing it. Hoped back onto the forums from beyond Google to see if there were ever any threads with open discussion about soloing content, thoughts, experiences, just anything in general in the last few months. Not a thing specifically designated to that purpose. So I figured, why not open that floor up and see what the thoughts are out there? I recently took on the challenge of building a Titan Weapon/Regeneration Scrapper with the explicit purpose of putting it through as much challenging content as I could, with as much solo as I find the time to do. The game was quiet, so I decided I'd try and take a peak around Khallisti Wharf for the first time ever, and also take a swing at the Task Force (Market Crash) while I was around. I hadn't actually taken a tour through it yet, and thought it'd be fun to try and run something brand new. There's relatively no direct-link resource for that TF, so it was a bit of a blind-run (not a big deal, really), until the end with the last AV (Crimson Prototype). That thing smoked me within 15 seconds and I was, truly and honestly, baffled. I hosp'd and took another swing, got it about 1/5 down before it happened again... just flat-lined out of no where. Que growing rage. For an AV, the Crimson Prototype is kind of annoying, but in a solo circumstance I was finding him, on that build, irritatingly difficult and it wasn't until another death, and really looking at the combat log that I realized it causes -MaxHP. I knew I had a ton of effective debuffs stacking on me, but not a lot of time to really stop and question them individually in my fight to kill that thing, and stay alive at the same time. There's also the fun little fact that whenever it manages to get a hold of, or summon a Force Field Generator, that tiny little drone makes the CP effectively untouchable. Its debuffs are what killed it for me on a Regen, though. I could cycle a lot of +Def and +Res, and hold up for a considerable amount of time without question, but at the end of it all Regeneration is one of my key elements, and that guy was stripping me down 100's of HP at a shot to the point where I was getting dropped by half, making those meager 150-200 damage attacks critical me. In the end I had to fold and give up the TF. It didn't matter if my Regen ridiculously high, it was chopping my hit points right out from under me. In the end, I might not have made the attempt if I'd come across a more definitive "btw, watch out for this..." I'll possibly revisit it down the road once I have the last few sets catalyzed in my build, and the Incarnates at least all T3 (versus only having Alpha and T1 Judgement). The Call to Action! That being said, I wanted to call out to others whose quest is to solo the content of our great city on their thoughts, tips, tricks, or stories they've experienced that might weigh in on the idea for others. What lessons did you learn, or what event happened that no other soul got to witness but you, alone in that dark cavern beneath Oranbega? I wanted to hear from others, to share those memories into something constructive for others, if anyone's interested. 15. I know that TA was buffed a while ago. But the numbers posted were for Defenders. But I've started to dig around on Trick Arrow for MM's and gaps in knowledge are starting to pop up. So this might be the first of several question sessions that I come up with regarding Trick Arrow and the MasterMind. Today's questions are about Flash Arrow. 1. Does Flash Arrow actually need Accuracy slotting? - Possible answer: I don't think it does, it appears to be autohit. Unless there is a portion of the effect that isn't autohit. Here is the excerpt from the Hit Log. Testing Scenario: I hit some mobs with it. 2. Are the in game tool tips accurate about the amount of the effects? - Answer No freaking clue! Are there any math people out there? Unenhanced the in game tooltip for Flash Arrow says: -5.63% to Hit. Whereas Mids tooltip shows -11.25%. Testing Scenario: This is using Unenhanced Trick Arrow. I'm level 50 and I let a 50 yellow Possessed Scientist (Lieutenant) in Peregrine Island beat on me. My Combat Attributes Window shows that I have 30.12% for Smashing Defense and the same for Lethal Defenses. My melee defense was around 11% so it doesn't matter in this scenario. Without Flash Arrow: He had a 22.88% chance to hit me. With Flash Arrow: He had a 10.58% chance to hit me. 22.88 - 10.58 = 12.3. So what does that actually mean? What % use does it actually have? Any math Guru's here? 3. How can we use the answer to question 2, to leverage how much Defense we should have to hit Soft Cap Defense against mobs from 0 to +4? Will it enable us to reallocate set bonus priorities from defense to another priority. When I get some time, i will try to repeat question 2 results with enhanced Trick Arrow. If i get some actual time.
  16. Couple things first...this is not a "can't you post a Mids build for me" thread, secondly, I have yet to make a Sent. That being said, my question is advice or better yet let me explain my thoughts, I intend to make this toon as a ranged blitz attack style, the secondary will be purely for ranged def and probably S/L because caves, council bases, the claustrophobic areas..you get it. So can a Sent be effective for this play style? With the primary acting as a control damage set because of the KB to force them away if they get too close plus damage obviously, couple this with the "speedster" aspect of SS, and the def and high rech. I've read some of the threads on Sent's and I get the gist of their functionality and how it can be beneficial to team dynamics (seriously what AT isn't in some way), I have a VG mate who loves his Sent's and after watching him enough I know there is a definite viability to them. So now I want to try them. So before I go the route of spending an hour on Mids, min/max a possible build to be proofread, what advice would you give?
  17. Can you customize enemies with specific powers? How does it work? I want to try making missions and have an idea in mind about a new enemy type but want to know how far does it go into customizing of them in regards to specific types.
  18. So I rolled a staff/invulnerable broot, was wondering if anyone had some insight into how it performs? Any downside? Not looking for a build, just want info from someone who has played one.
  19. So got hit by surprise snow here...I hate snow, winter, holidays, etc. Whens the winter event starting i want to beat a snowmans ass or throw snowballs at people in Atlas when they aren't looking. But, mostly to beat a snowmans ass...and wanting to punt kick baby new year...gawd he's a hideous chud.
  20. Hey all, hope you're all doing well and staying safe. I just got a question I thought I'd ask here - so... with power customization on Homecoming here, I have to ask - do the forms of a Peacebringer or a Warshade change color at all? I ask because, admittedly, I love the concept of the Peacebringers and Warshades - arguably moreso the Peacebringers/non-altered Kheldians since I always loved characters like the Green and Yellow Lanterns as well as those non-organic shapeshifting forms (and organic shapeshifters as well of course). And while I'm okay with the default colors, I just have to ask since the idea of rocking - say - a neon green Nova and Dwarf form is enticing lol
  21. I'm thinking of starting a villain character that changes alignment to be a Rogue at 20 and from then on, only do Rogue-like story arcs, which are arcs that aren't evil, but are closer to the Rogue alignment. So, does anyone have any recommended contacts? Also, out of the 4 Patrons, which one is closest to the Rogue alignment?
  22. Sorry I wasn't sure where to post this question and couldn't find somewhere else that looked more appropriate, but is it possible to change your main or at least secondary power? Like if you're say a demon MM and wanted to try thugs or robots? How about if wanted to change your secondary to something else? Is this possible somewhere or do you have to make a new character?
  23. So I've built one, any slotting advice on the pets looking at Lich specifically. I know Necro is low AOE, so that's why I took Storm to balance plus its part of the concept for the toon. I've never played either set, so help on slotting pets, powers that I must or should take, etc. Any advice is of course highly appreciated and I will send a very valuable "no-prize" your way, disinfected of course.
