  1. I've been playing a Rad/Rad Defender for a few months and I've been loving it! I want to maximize the build but putting together builds is something I've never been very good at. I've put together a "Hypothetical Build" but I'm not sure how to cap my defenses and have plenty of recharge and on top of that manage my endurance, any help or advice would be much appreciated! I really want this toon to be the very best it can!   2. Here is my build for a Rad/Elec Blaster. Defense S/L = 47.1% F/C/E = 39+% NE = 28% Resistance S/L 34.5% Regen = 238% EndRec = 2.99/s EndUse = 1.35/s EndUse/Rec is not where I usually have it (with a 2% gap) but with Force of Thunder (18s) and Power Sink (37s) recharges shouldn't be an issue.   3. Hi there, So in addition to the Beam/Invuln I posted a few hours ago, I blew a thick layer of dust off my Rad^2 this week as well. She's 42 and so far, feels a little squishy. She has next to none of the Sets listed here, so I'm sure she'll toughen up as I go, but again, I wanted some feedback on where I'm looking to take her.   4. Hi everyone! I'm looking for some tips and tricks related to building blasters who can survive in melee range and make good use of AoE and Melee attacks. I enjoy playing power set combinations that I don't see around the city too often and I like the visuals of these two sets. My priorities are: Have fun 🙂 which on a blaster can include glorious death! Stay alive long enough to boost myself and then unleash my AoE attacks, melee anything which survived Move on to the next mob without too much down time I'm not obsessing over solo +4/x8 or anything but +2/x6-8 should be realistic. I team most of the time anyway because I enjoy the interaction. Budget is not too much of an issue. Before posting my build I will share some of the the thought process. None of these decisions are 'fixed' I would welcome to hear alternative thoughts! I've built for positional +Def rather than typed. I have slotted Soul Drain and Dark Consumption as attacks and expect to use them often. Perma-SD would be lovely but feels hard to achieve while also getting enough +Def in the build. When SD is down I'll probably hang back and blast from range for a bit. I omitted Electron Haze because in practice I find it difficult to target at close range and lose the benefits of the cone. In actual play I have rarely seen the the KB fire. Instead I have selected Death Shroud and slotted for Acc/End Redux and procs. I consider this part of my my commitment to staying in close as much as possible, otherwise this pick is probably not worth it. I have absolutely no idea how to slot Touch of Beyond! Right now it has a single Power Transfer proc in it, and should hit often enough. Stealth is primarily just to squeeze in another LotG +Rchg. Cold Mastery is very much for flavor... although a Self Heal/+HP could be useful and Snow Storm has potential to increase close in survivability, these are in no way non-negotiable. But most likely the powers in these positions should be things which don't require slot investment. Because of the positional +Def I haven't taken an epic shield. I did consider Cross Punch as another close range AoE but could not find the slots. I also wasn't sure whether the synergy with Boxing/Kick affects the single target power, Cross Punch, or both.   5. Since I have so much time on my hands, I've been theorycrafting some builds I really don't need or have time to play (already have over 30 alts, fully IO'd out and incarnated). Anyway, I do not have a Radiation Blast blaster, and I don't have a /Temporal one on the Homecoming shards, so I thought: here's a combo I don't have yet! I usually shoot for capped S/L/E defense on my blasters (thus, Scorpion Shield) I usually go the hover/fly/afterburner travel route. I usually avoid Hasten, as I often have all the pool powers picked. I usually go Stealth, just for speed-running through TFs and such (stealth + stealth IO in sprint). Well, I was able to hit 3 out of the above 4. Instead of stealth, I went Combat Jumping - both for added defense as well as "i hate being immobilized" which happens (and it lasts a while!). Was thinking to proc-mule Irradiate, but the Universal Damage set (all 6) seems to fit the bill. I like all the bonuses (+dam, +hp, +def, +KB prot) and with the KD proc, it turns Irradiate into a ghetto control power! Alternately, I was thinking to 2+4 is, with two -Res procs and four Eradicates. The problem with going that route is the end cost and recharge; it feels like I want to irradiate and damage more often than proc... I'm torn on this one. The rest is fairly straight forward blaster slotting. I ended up with 28.5% damage (set bonuses only, add 10.5% from assault for 39% total), decent recovery, S/L/E softcap (45%+). Have great travel power (afterburner is so much fun) and hover-blasting, even when going in for the irradiate/nuke/end of time stuff is nice. Ghetto control if I leave universal in irradiate, plus ST stun with cosmic burst (yeah, it's slow activation, meh); mag 3 hold with Atomic Blast. Mob nuking would be within the 10s of first of aim/bu: Aim+Chronos (buildup) while flying in (stealth+IO) and positioning myself; Irradiate (fast cast, KD from proc) ~240 dam Nuke (slow, but holds) ~ 1065 dam End of Time ~ 363 dam Realistically, the above would only be for incarnate/post-50 stuff. I imagine the pre-50 content (teaming) going as follows: Nuke (Atomic Blast w/o aim or BU, maybe just BU for damage) Finish off stragglers/boss with ST or Aim + BU Irradiate + End of Time Finish off stragglers/boss with ST Here's the build I threw together and may build: Would love to hear comments/critiques!
  6. What is hell is a cofender? Controller/Offender She's only level 44, but it's starting to gel into a good build. Strong fast recharging def and resist debuffs. I can easily get -85% resists before procs with Envenom and VG. 1 stun, 2 proc'ed out holds , proc'ed poison trap, and neurotoxic breath for CC and damage Range def only 41%, but weaken provides -28% to hit and venomous gas another -18%. Suggestions?
  7. I'll openly admit I made this blaster on a total whim because a friend mentioned fire/dark as her build and I thought about what other blast set besides fire had a poop-ton of aoe's to abuse. Didn't take long to remember that Irradiate is thing and I've played Rad before (rad/kin corr specifically) and I know I can be pretty aggressive with it. Lots of KD proc potential with said aoe's...reliable stuns to throw around...etcetc. TL;DR: This unexpectedly become my first 50 on homecoming and one of the most aggressive blaster playstyles I've had next to my tri-fire blapper on live, with way more survival compared without any real slotting in Touch of the Beyond. Anyone that's teamed with me on Everlasting could probably attest to sheer madness of this build and how I regularly survive situations that kill actual proper melee AT's while I'm shoulder to shoulder with them in melee or just alpha into mobs and start wrecking things. My joke about "Forgot that I'm playing a blaster" isn't really that much of a joke anymore...I pretty much play her like a scrapper or a brute in non-incarnate content (can't be a total nutter in that because incarnate mobs have boosted stats). TL;DR pt 2: This build definitely isn't for everyone, if you're timid about jumping into a mob of +1/+2 romans as an actual melee AT like a brute or tanker...you should probably stick to playing proper melee AT's then trying to replicate this particular brand of utter madness. This build revolves around being super aggressive and getting into melee quickly to let OG start stunning dudes, laying out aoe's to get diamagnetic procs going, knockdowns and debuffing defenses (Since rad is awesome like that), making sure to tag a boss with TotB (its worth it to use when its recharged since its a mag 3 fear and even more -tohit) and then either punching goons in the mouth or backing off (hovering up) if the melee heat gets too strong to let your health recover before diving right back in.
