Lol...they should rename Unstoppable to "Willingly dying in 180 seconds"

My names for the powers in SS:

Weak Punch

Normal Human Punch

First Actual Super Strong Punch

Should Be An Inherent Power

Should Be a Disorient Cone or -ToHit Debuff

Should Do Thrice the Damage and Knock Back

Should Add Bonus Damage Instead of +Damage and Not Stack or Crash

Should Do Twice the Damage and Be Twice as Big

Should Be Mighty Judgement

Brutes are picked over scrappers not because they do more damage - scrappers mathed out as coming ahead - but because everyone who is going to farm is going to aim for 45% def and 90% res, both focused on fire.

I'm not even too sure why tbh. My brute calls two groups and then patrols join in and she's only at 50% ish resistances, I might as well made her a scrapper if that was the intent behind the character.

Yeah, I'm curious, while a tank should never be able to put a dent in AV health, surviving, even with work on it, should always be possible. And Stone/Dark should survive well having one of the best heals in the game in siphon life and having one of the best build up in the game in Earth's Embrace.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

You laugh, however, there was a time that I ran Unstoppable in perma-mode.🤣

It was the most efficient way to play Invulnerability until I3.

I thought the reason a Brute is picked over a scrapper for farming is because of the taunt effects they have, which scrappers don't. It's essential to keep mobs inside of Burn.

That, and the fact that fury boosts dots but crits don't.

I'm sure the extra resist now that its easier to get doesn't hurt.

Sure, I will have to put it in Mid's.  I just have the target build in their right now. I will put it at Lvl 42 as live with the current IO sets that I have at 42.  Be a bit to cross reference with the live build and put it in Mid's.

I could stand there all day in Granite, he could not hurt me.  Siphon Life is no good when he de-buffs your accuracy, otherwise it is wonderful.

Going Rock/Crystal/Rooted was the problem...defense based without dark energy resist is suicide...his Mesmerize always hits for 200ish, and he can hit for around 500 per dark hit landed through defense,  if I miss a heal due to his double stacked accuracy de-buff I would die.  Once heal missed I had to pop Granite.  Once in Granite too risky to try and pop on 2 armor toggles to go back to more damage mode.  So, stalemate.  He can't hurt me...and I can't hurt him.  Without Granite I was indeed denting him at Elite Boss level of 44 vs my level of 42 at a -1 setting for missions.  I could just level up a bit and try again, then would not be issue at +3 to him I think I could win.  Working on build to display.

Lvl 42 Build as currently on live. Don't judge, it is what I could afford so far...lol.  So far completely happy with the combination of Stone with Dark.  I made it to run most things without having to use Granite, and it has been doing very well at that while soloing.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

The disappointment was palpable when I saw that I couldn’t  actually build an Energy Aura Tanker yet. Despite switching to Brutes, THAT was the one set that I wanted to try as a Tanker.

I made a /rad brute on the test server that sits at 90% resist to everything (toxic, psi, cold, literally everything) at all times.  You have to manage ageless and some cooldowns though.

You laugh, however, there was a time that I ran Unstoppable in perma-mode.🤣

It was the most efficient way to play Invulnerability until I3.

Well, there was Tele-tanking too. I mean, I seem to remember the passives being 20% base resists and unyielding being 20% base resists, so you could get up to 95% if you had them all six slotted for resistance. Am I remembering incorrectly?

Edit: These were also the days of broken invincibility. Invulnerability was wild back then.

Why do people focus on maxing fire? Is it far easier or something?

Burn baby, burn. 🙂

No but seriously fire farming allows you to cap def and res while also using the most offensive secondary. You can happily s/l farm but you are going to be doing it with a secondary that doesn't provide the same damage.

Yes, back when Unyielding rooted and Temp Invul was mutually exclusive with it.

And yes, Invincibility was way overturned.😁

With the new patch up, I took the SR/DM Tanker and DM/SR Brute out for another spin. Same builds, same environments. This time around only using attacks from Dark Melee.

The end result was a tad bit different. The Tanker moved a bit slower with only one cone available. Not to any degree that would be considered sluggish. Watching Shadow Maul hit multiple targets easily was still fun to see. It was probably the only thing keeping him in close enough pace to the Brute's kill speed. The Brute, not surprisingly, performed the same as before. When it came to +1 encounters, the brute mowed through single targets much faster.

For those who love data, here are the combat logs for each running through a defeat boss mission.
