Request for Base Item

Something we need desperately in bases is the ability to make signs.  The only lettering is HUGE.  It's useful, but sometimes you need something that doesn't take up an entire wall.  I would love to be able to add in the pedestal and wall mount plaques for badges, including the ability to edit the text field that comes up when you click on it.  That would allow us to put up signs in the bases, and it is an item that already exists in the game.  Pleeeeese!  😄

Absolutely! I have created a base with the express intention of pulling in low level characters, having signs telling them which storage racks are appropriate for their level, reminding them to donate spare salvage, do their own washing up, and even the odd post-it note to individuals, (yes I know I could use Email, but this would be more fun!). I was amazed when I realized that this facility did not exist, is there some underlying problem, that prevents it's implementation?

I'm no coder, but I imagine this would require a new server-side database to store the text of all signs for a base, times however many bases are on a server. Seems like that could put a burden on the servers when there is a simpler solution. Granted, the letters objects we currently have are HUGE. So, just add the ability to resize these letters instead. Still clunky putting up multiple letters for signs, but probably better than the potential resource hit on the servers.

That would work, but wouldn't it have the same problem with large numbers of letters suddenly appearing at bases, if you have a system where you click on signs to read them, (like the plaques around the city) you only load the text when someone actually wants to read it.
