Build for Beam Rifle / Mental Manipulation Blaster

I'm nearing my first level 50 character. It is built from an RP concept of a space navy officer with mental powers from interactions with alien tech.


But now I'm wondering how to optimize the build. I have hardly any idea how to select suitable enhancement sets or refine the selection of powers in a respec.

I feel he has too many attacks and not enough team support and defense (I know - squishy - and I live with it 🙂 )


Can anyone give me pointers how to plan such a build or even provide an example for Pines?
