I can't help but come back to this thread any time I'm looking for inspiration for a Kheldian build. I posted my Warshade build that I made with direct inspiration from you.. And I'm here again trying to piece together a PB build now. It's been many months.. But I'm finally doing it! Man... Kheldians can be a bit overwhelming to slot, but rest assured.. you have, in my opinion, some of the best builds around. So thanks again!

Thanks Camel 😅. If you need any help with your PB build feel free to send me a message.

Heyoooo,

I'm a WS lover and I wanted to post what I have going on for my favorite Alpha Ranger: Super Sempai Seven.

I know a lot of you will look at this and think I'm crazy for going the complete opposite direction of everybody here and having basically, NO DEFENSE WHATSO-EVAR! The key for me is: Dying is part of the attack chain, why prolong the inevitable?

I crafted this here and there over the better part of the a month and changed it around as I leveled.

She sports 30+% Base SL/FC/EN RES  Out of the box, any form.

Up to 59% when Exemplared, toggles on.

Perma-Hasten, Perma-Eclipse (Nearly Max RES-All at 4 targets).

+193% Recharge

3 Reliable pets at a time, if you can remember bring them out.

Double Stealth for extreme badge-hunting or Mission ghosting.

Full attack chain at every level for every situation.

Let me know what you love and hate about it.

Enjoy!

On a more personal note, you'll see a lot of love placed into Dwarf form. My favorite attack chain is to TP into a big crowd, Eclipse, Mire, Dwarf, Dwarf Mire (the Apocalypse Proc really shines here), Smite somebody near death (or just find the nearest corpse), Human, Unchain, See if anything is left, Nova, Nova detonation, Extraction, Stygian... Move on to the next group.

I also like just hanging out in Dwarf form, Tanking while my fluffies hose down the room with Neg Energy.

=D

Can you post text or a screenshot of the PB builds? I use a Mac, and Mids doesn't work on the latest operating system

Okay I quickly scabbed together some screens for the PB builds. I have been planning to do some more in-depth updates but due to lack of free time it just hasn't come together yet... hopefully the screenshots help. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message.

Are any of these useable as a leveling build? I'm hitting the 20's on my WS and PB and there are so many powers now I feel like I'm underslotting everything

The budget Tri-form builds are fine to use for leveling in terms of their power order. What I typically try to encourage for slot focus while leveling are the following powers:
Ebon eye and Nova Blast; 3-4 slots each. 2 acc/ 2 dmg. Both blasts recharge quickly and have relatively low endurance costs so no need to enhance recharge or endurance reduction.
Nova Emanation and Detonation; prioritize these 2 powers with 5 slot each. You can slot Positron's blast here at 20 for the 5 piece recharge bonuses.
Sunless Mire; 4 slots. 2 acc / 2 rch.
Once you get Dwarf, prioritize slots in Black Dwarf Mire. 6 slot with obliteration at level 30.
From there you can enhance Dwarf Smite and Strike with 4 slots; 2 acc / 2 dmg.
A lot of the powers we take as mules (manuevers, vengeance, unleash or combat jumping, shadow cloak) are still valuable to take where they're slotted because we're going to slot Luck of the Gambler 7.5% recharge bonus IO's once we hit 25.

Kheldians have far too many powers available to them to properly slot them all while leveling, so we need to focus on which ones we're going to slot for the early to mid game and which we'll wait to slot up closer to 50. Prioritizing Nova form and your damage buffs (sunless mire/dwarf mire) is probably the best way to go as Nova is really strong in the early game, granting you 2 ST blasts and 2 aoes by level 6. Once that foundation is slotted up, then you can start to decide from there which powers you want to slot up.

Hey,

Wondered if you could check out my Human PB build and see if there is anything that can be improved? I've made it to be pretty tanky and even gave it provoke so it can tank in a pinch. It's softcapped to Melee and practically softcapped on S/L damage as well. I have taken dwarf form but only as a slot mule, I never use it in game.  I've also taken the shield toggles so it can still be viable when exemplaring as well.

I'll take a peek at it as soon as I'm able. Currently out of town at the moment so my access to mids (and time to look) is very limited right now.

Hey, loving these builds Doom so much trial and error has gone into them clearly.

Currently playing your 45% s/l triform ws having a blast.

Could you be so kind as to explain your thought process behind the incarnate choices? Specifically for this build you recommend Vigor (Alpha) Barrier (Destiny) Reactive (Interface) & Melee (Hybrid). I can kind-of see where you're coming from with these picks, but in my mind Musculature + Ageless + Degenerative + Assault (these are usually my go-to picks) would be more consistent for doing a variety of content.

Was also wondering if you've considered (or have done) anything similar with other AT's

Cheers

Edit: Just tried your "My current Tri-form shade build; Dwarf focused" holy hell it's so much nicer for soloing content. The damage procs are so gurthy.

Edit2: Any chance of an exemplar WS build? Your exemplar PB build was excellent.

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying them. The incarnate choices in that build were not really chosen specifically for that, hence why they aren't actually listed in the "features" section of those post. Incarnates are fairly interchangeable, however I do enjoy Vigor Alpha on my Shade, it really makes Dwarf Drain's heal quite beefy and helps gives us some endurance reduction which helps in protracted fights like AV or GM fights where there are not a lot of minions to Stygian off of for recovery. That being said, I don't consider Musculature on Warshades to be very ideal, seeing as how the class already easily caps it's own damage through enhancement+sunless mire+dwarf mire, making the additional damage enhancement from Musculature to go wasted regularly.

Ageless isn't a bad way to go, it's helpful when fighting Malta, Arachnos or Carnies where end drain is prevalent. At the same time Barrier can also help with this as a defensive cooldown which will also help us to avoid mez, grant def/res to our nearby teammates and our essences. I typically float between Clarion/Barrier/Ageless depending on what I'm fighting.

Degenerative is alright, the -max hp helps a bit on harder targets by simultaneously debuffing their regen by way of the -max hp debuff and seeing as how Warshade's don't have the best ST dps, every little bit helps. I usually run Reactive however  (while solo) for the stronger and more consistent Fire DoT. This slot is pretty flexible, even some of the less popular interfaces like Diamagnetic (-tohit) and Paralytic (-dmg) can be helpful for keeping your pets alive if you prefer a more defensive approach.

Assault isn't a bad choice, but I would definitely suggest going Radial and not Core for the same reason we don't go Musculature. We have plenty of sources for +dmg and a lower damage bonus cap to boot which means we're often at cap both solo and on teams. This is where Radial really shines as the bonus damage granted is by way of a energy damage proc and is useful both at dmg cap or not.

I haven't really considered it no. Kheld have been my main focus for most of my time playing CoH and this is where most of my knowledge lies. I could certainly give it a whirl for other AT's but I feel like those areas are covered pretty well by others elsewhere on the forum.

Yeah, I put a lot of hours in using that build on the live server. It really beefs up Dwarf's damage output so even if you get mezzed a lot, you have decent ST dps and you're still 1 small purple insp from s/l softcap in all forms. Most of the Tri-form builds I've posted exemp pretty well to be honest. The key to getting the most out of them while exemping is making sure the dmg procs, LOTG 7.5%'s, Panacea, Glad Armor, etc, are all attuned. That's the beauty of Tri-form, you're a beast from level 6 onward.

These are the changes I would make with a build like this:

- Swapped Radiant Strike to Hecatomb. The added damage proc really helps ST damage out.
- Swapped a bunch of slots around with your shields. Thermal is honestly the last shield I bother with. Fire/cold damage aren't super common and running 3 shields plus any other toggles can get pretty end heavy especially if you're exemping.
- Moved Kheld's grace over to Dawn Strike and added a KB->KD. Moved the Form Bonus io over to Dwarf Smite (yes the bonus works even if it's just muled in a power you don't intend on using)
- Jammed an extra slot into manuevers and weave for the LOTG def/end and boosted it to 5 to get your Defense back to 45 melee.
- Dropped the single recharge from Inner Light for 2 piece rectified reticle for the s/l def bonus. Power is still perma.
- Swapped the recharge in Light Form for end/rch and boosted it +5 to get a little more bonus recovery when in Light Form.

I made a build similar to this awhile back if you're curious, it's on the previous page called the "PB Brawler build" that might interest you if you're still planning on tweaking this build some more.

First up is a build I posted in the Peacebringer channel on the Homecoming discord earlier today. It's a Human Form build, designed for all around tankiness.

and the build...

Tanky Human-form Peacebringer (32.5 def to positional defense)

Features:
32.5+ def to positionals. (softcapped w/ 1 small purple inspiration)
54.8% psi resistance
Perma Lightform
165% global recharge (hasten's bonus included)
Hasten is perma as long as you trigger FFB via Solar Flare once or twice during combat.
Aoe KB is converted to KD with the exception of Seekers.

Notable easy power substitutes:
- Can sub shining shield and quantum acceleration for tactics and vengeance.

This build is designed for end-game play primarily but can exemp down while retaining most of the builds strengths until 33. Not designed for sub-Lightform play.
I perfer more procs in my builds personally, but if someone is looking to build a Tanky as hell human only PB, It probably doesn't get much better than this.

I notice this build has musculature core as the alpha slot... any other thoughts/recommendations as far as incarnate priorities go? Also, from a newbie, how does perma light form actually work? I'm guessing you have to set both hasten and light form to automatically trigger somehow. Moreover, how do you counter the crash from both light form and hasten? Does being "perma" naturally prevent the crash from occurring?

I actually use go Musc Radial on pb's for the damage and end mod enhancement. As with any/all incarnates they really are to flavour for the most part.

For Destiny I'd probably go Ageless Radial for the debuff resistances as PB's don't get any. Barrier or Clarion are also useful, though you will get a small amount of mez protection through Light Form and defenses are yet another way to help prevent getting hit by mez so it's not ultimately necessary. That being said, if you find mez to a particular grievance and don't like playing the inspiration game, Clarion may be more appealing to you.

Interface; go to's are typically degen core or reactive radial.

Hybrid; assault radial. IMO, due to Kheldian's lower damage caps, Radial is a better choice as the bonus proc damage will work regardless if you're at the damage cap or not. Due to our damage cap being low and our inherent also boosting damage bonus potentially, hitting the cap is often trivial and will occur often.
Lore; flavour really. Pick whichever you like best. Some are objectively better than others but none are necessarily specific to a PB's needs.

Judgement; I like Void radial with the hefty -50% dmg debuff for 30 seconds. It's very good defensively but again, Judgement is more flavour.

Perma Lightform works when the power recharges more quickly than the duration expires. Sometimes that overlap is greater on some builds than others. You can refresh Light Form before it expires, but the buff does not stack and the crash will happen regardless.
You can't have Hasten and LF both on auto without a special bind/macro. Dominators typically do this to juggle Domination and Hasten, I'm not familiar with the exact bind string, however all I can say is I don't personally use it. The best way to monitor LF and anticipate the crash is to use the beta feature "cooldown timers" from the options and to monitor your buff bar as the power gets close to coming off cooldown. The LF buff icon should start to blink letting you know the power will expire shortly.

The crash; when LF crashes it will actually bring your HP to full then crash it to 50%. This happens even if you're below 50% HP when the crash occurs. Your endurance bar will also take a similar dip.
This can be a bit alarming at first but you'll quickly get used to it. Fortunately LF has a built in recovery buff to help recover your blue bar.

When the crash happens (and it will, no matter what); I typically have a few second overlap on mine. I hit LF as soon as it is back up to maintain the buff with no downtime for the buffs. When the crash hits I will cue up Reform Essence or Essence boost (preferably) based on whichever one is up. Ageless, Conserve Power or Unleash Potential (if taken) can really help fill your blue bar back up but aren't explicitly necessary to recover from the endurance portion of the crash. Likewise, inspirations can also be substituted in dire situations when none of the above referenced powers are off cooldown.

The crash becomes less and less of an issue the more familiar you become with your PB, so naturally it does take some getting used to. I recommend binding Light Form to a key so you can quickly activate it. The crash is a small price to pay for being able to have 85% resists to all but psi damage all of the time regardless of circumstance.

In a human only build  a bind such as this is simple and effective... ' bind x "powexec_name light form" '
If playing on a Triform you'll want that bind to work even if you're currently in a different form in which case use this... ' bind x "powexec_toggleoff bright nova$$powexec_toggleoff white dwarf$$powexec_name light form"

You can replace x with whatever key you prefer. If you use the triform bind, it will drop you out of whatever form you are in and fire Light Form off.

I thought I replied, but I didn't. Thank you for really laying it out for me and explaining why you make the selections you make. It makes sense. The light form bit doesn't seem nearly as punishing as I was expecting when I was doing my reading on Peacebringer skills on the wiki, now that you've explained how the whole process works. You must really specialize in kheldians :). Just rolled my first PB yesterday.

I have yet to see any dual builds, does anyone have a solid dual build, was thinking a human/dwarf peacebringer build, can anyone help, thanks.

You could convert any of the posted builds to a Human/Dwarf Bi-form fairly easily. I would swap Nova out for either Photon Scatter or Luminous blast for an additional aoe if I were to do that.
Photon Scatter with procs is decent. Luminous w/ sudden acceleration or overwhelming force + FFB can be a good source of knockdown and FFB procage.

Features:
32.5+ def to smashing/lethal dmg (softcapped w/ 1 small purple inspiration)
Perma Eclipse

160% global recharge (hasten's bonus included)
Hasten is perma as long as you trigger FFB (Force Feedback) via Gravitic Emanation, Shadow Blast OR Nova Det once or twice during combat.
All AoE KB is converted to KD except Gravitic Emanation which we'll use to stun and re position groups. (This is also proc'd out, hello cosmic shotgun)
Vengeance taken early, used often. Great for exemping down, it will ensure you never have a team wipe again.

ST Attacks in all forms are usable. Ideal attack chain would require shifting, attacks would include; Gravity well, Shadow Blast, Dwarf Mire, Dwarf Smite.
FFB in both Gravitic Emanation and Nova Det ensure high uptime of 100%+ Recharge buff that FFB provides.
FFB in Shadow Blast ensure high uptime even during extended fights versus hard targets (AV)

Mule Powers: (Powers you don't use so you can keep them off your tray, they're just their for their slotted bonus)
- maneuvers
- tactics
- gravity shield
- grant invis

Hey Doom,

I appreciate your effort in posting all of these builds. im currently setting up this Budget tri-form build to try it out. I am curious on how you would build / what you would change for a full purple (spare no expense ) tri-form build?

Doom's 32.5 Tri-form - Warshade 01.12.2021.mxd

Try this on for size.

This version still retains 32.5 s/l defense in all forms but will have an improved resistance floor before inherent bonus or eclipse.
Runs about the same level of global recharge bonuses. High FFB uptime in my experience is more beneficial than pursuing more flat recharge bonuses past 160%ish total.

We've dumped Unchain Essence and the Invisibility APP entirely in favor of Force of Will to pick up Unleash Potential.
Unchain, while fun generally has to large an uptime to be all that useful when we can string together aoe's constantly already and maintain high sustained aoe damage.
Unleash Potential will grant you bonus def to all, allowing you to push you over softcap to s/l def for 60 seconds and also allowing you to conserve inspirations while replacing one of our LotG mules.
Additionally, slotted this way it will also boost your recovery a further 2+end/second lessening your reliance on Stygian Circle. Helpful in longer fights or when fighting enemy groups that don't produce bodies to drain off of. Special note: Despite the description, Unleash actually does not have a crash.

Swapped a few sets around for their purple variant(s). Slotted FotG chance for -res into Dwarf Mire and Annihilation -res into Gravitic to help soften up targets.
Swapped the other 3 pcs Essence drain to Nova Emanation and added a FFB proc, so both Nova aoes now can proc FFB to maintain higher uptime on the 100% bonus recharge.
High FFB should help minimize the downtime on Unleash and keep your Nuke up more often..

Slotted Soulbound Build-up 2 pcs into Dark Extraction to red ED cap acc/dmg/rch and give your pets build up, which fires quite often and can stack.

Slotted Gravity well with 5 pcs Blistering Cold (w/ hold proc) and Unbreakable Constraint chance for Smashing dmg. This slotting is great as it makes it quite end efficient and can also one shot hold a boss. Good soft control to combine with Gravitic and your Dwarf Taunt to help keep your pets alive.

Still retains Burnout, useful for resetting a fight in the event Eclipse misses or does not saturate enough and you get dropped. Simply rez -> burnout -> eclipse and keep going. Also handy for getting an additional pet, bringing your total up to 4 max.

Hi Doom,

Do you have any cool macro's/binds for quick switching and using abilities? I've heard from some people that is like half the battle with tri-form warshading lol. Currently leveling mine at the moment and I have the standard tray switching macro which helps a ton between the forms! Looking for anything that would help with making attacks feel more fluid and quick!

Thanks!

I use binds to drop out of forms and use buffs powers (sunless mire, eclipse, stygian circle, etc.). The typical bind is:

/bind <key> "powexec_toggleoff dark nova$$powexec_toggleoff black dwarf$$powexec_name <power name>"

For example:

/bind c "powexec_toggleoff dark nova$$powexec_toggleoff black dwarf$$powexec_name Eclipse"

This will drop me out of either nova or black dwarf and fires Eclipse. Sometimes it takes 2 presses of the bind to execute but it works well.

You can use that macro for any of those powers. I typically bind stygian to V, eclipse to C, sunless mire I bind to alt+e. You can use whatever key you like that isn't already bound to another function.

I find this is handy for Dark Extraction as well. So rather having to manually swap back to human, target a body then press DE, I just mash the bind twice when an enemy dies, and it pops me into human form, targets nearest enemy (I spend most of my time in or near melee) then spawns a Fluffy.

If you wanna get real weird you can even use this macro for your human attacks like Gravity Well or Gravitic Emanation.
While tray swaps still work just as well as they always have, I've adopted a macro heavy set up in lieu of tray swaps so all my attacks utilize a macro so I can use any form attack I want regardless of form. It gets a bit button mashy at times but it's a lot of fun.

Ahh I see! Awesome, thanks for that information! That definitely sounds super interesting going the route of macro's mainly over the tray swaps. That definitely sounds like something I could get used to haha.

I think I'll give that a shot, creating a bunch of macros and see what the play flow seems like in comparison!

Also remember, binds work in reverse order (right to left). So it is actually better to do HumanPower$$ToggleOff$$ToggleOff than the other way around to drop out of forms into a human form power.

Also, you can keybind number keys...
