Will this computer run CoH?

HyperAi

Recommended Posts

I'm able to run safe mode on this:

iMac (20-inch, Early 2009)

Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB

Now, grated... the "Spectrum" costumes just look flat to me and I'm almost always the last to zone when running a TF. But it does work.

What's the off switch if one does this and doesn't like it?

While I'd Love to have my UI that much out of the way, unless that's a BIG screen, then I'd need a magnifying glass to read That. X.X

3 x 27"

Still not QUITE big enough to hack CoH at 6K Res (You can play, but things are a bit hard to read, I actually run Windows at 150% mag because without the anti-aliasing on the text, it's painful to read, even with 20/20+ vision.  Bump the text size slightly and everything becomes eminently readable though.)

Back when I was constrained to 1920x1080, I'd regularly crank my UI down to 65%.  Now I play with UI Scale at 100%.

You can use /clearchat and not need to blur all that out. PSA

Yeah, but I'd already screencapped and was like "Well *BLEEP!*"

Oh MY yes.  I mean, I've got a 50" TV that does 60Hz monitor duty at 1920x1080.

But it just isn't enough screen ACTUAL real estate.

Very True, I'm running with a shared 40" @1080p, but then there's the "I don't really wanna wear my reading glasses" thing.

I have a hp 19 all in 1 can i play city of heroes?please im and old player n want to playyyyyy

There are many models of "HP 19 All-in-One".  Could you help us out by providing a more specific model number?  Thanks!

EDIT:  Just as an example, an HP 19-2014 has an E1-2500, which is a very anemic CPU, and probably won't run CoH well.  The HP 19-2113w has a slightly more powerful Celeron, but it still won't run well.

2nd EDIT:  If you go into the game launcher options and put in the -usetexenvcombine option, it will make the game use a simpler rendering method - The game won't look as nice, but this drastically expands the range of computers you can run it on smoothly, (and for some of us, all we want is to play CoH!).

  • Game Master

All In One = Laptop guts in a Desktop Box.  Keep that in mind, if it doesn't play City of Heroes well out of the box, just like a laptop there's not a whole lot you can do to improve the performance of an All-in-One.  (Past buying another system.)
