Build a better Un-Granite stoner?

Since the Rooted change, I've been enjoying my non-Granite tanker much, much more. Then I stumbled across this thread and was inspired to revisit my build. This isn't the current one I run, but it's what I'll be doing soon enough. Defense soft-cap for S/L/E/N/P. Res cap for S/L/F/C. No sacrifice to damage performance, plenty of recharge tossed in, and since I'm using Dark Melee, there's endurance management for when I'm exemplared and can't use Ageless.

Forgot to mention that those res caps are when the Might of the Tanker proc is active. But in Mud Pots, that appears to be nearly all of the time.

Until the $heite hits the fan and you click Granite, then it's WAY above those numbers (110-140% Resist, 45+% Dam, all except psi)...

The playstyle's different.
And you can rock fairly hard.

Basically, with Stone and the modern IO and Ancillary power sets, Granite is firmly reduced from ABSOLUTE NECESSITY to "an option:"

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.

If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

Well I am glad that it helps those who like/want to play a Stone Tank.  It's worthy to note that those same IOs and Power Pools put other tanks at the same level as Granite w/o the self debuffing, reduced movement, etc..

As "Mr. Invuln Is Now The Gold Standard", I'm pretty sure that this is what Un-Granite is achieving too.

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.

I'm not going to argue that ungranite Stone is top tier, but it can be built very well, and compared to invuln, can cover its psi defenses without sacrificing other IO slotting opportunities.

 

It also gives more thematic options for people who don't want to be a silly looking rock monster.

Never thought it possible, especially with a "budget" build (non-Superior Gauntleted and Might) only one other purple set (Avalanche), attacks are orange and yellow...about $300M - $400M, but respec'd PLV and he's back to being an awful lot of fun, again.

TTT, with the right color scheme.

 

Ran this version for TT on Indom, last night.  Never needed granite at +4/8 running missions against Praetorians, Arachnos, Carnies and Council.  At Warboss' behest, I took the alpha from Marauder and we stomped him, Chimera, Dominatrix and I forget what other AVs, without much fanfare.

You're build seemed to hold up well. I'll have to look at moding for the power sets on my Stone/MA (40 something).
