Blastermind build?

So I was messing around in Mids trying to find an endgame build for my AR/Dev blaster when I came across this idea. Perma Gun Drone and Summon Spiderlings, .1% off softcap for S/L, and come with a host of AoE attacks. It looks dumb, but fun. Anyone have any experience with this kind of build? I have a Crabbermind and that's a host of fun and where I got this idea from.

Any idea if another Primary would be better? Voltaic Sentinel sucks from what I hear but an Elec/Dev blastermind might be interesting.

I had looked into building one of these, and was definitely thinking elec/devices to squeeze out that one extra (sorta) pet.

 

I've never played with Voltaic Sentinel but I'm familiar with the notion that it sucks.... But I'm not sold on why. From duoing with people running it, it seems like increased action economy (and it kept letting us know when we were getting ambushed, heh).

 

Ultimately I didn't build a blastermind because I didn't have a theme come to mind (and because I abandon most characters before 40), but I'm still really curious to see how one performs.
