Ernesto Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 (edited) Since yesterdays patch, I seem to now be missing textures and FX effects in the game (see attached screenshots from Pocket D). Rescanned the install to check for errors and nothing reported, I've tried switching from 64 bit to 32 bit client, but getting exactly the same issue. Looking in the logs (tail -F ~/Library/Logs/Time\ Sync/Island\ Rum/Player.log) I see the two items which I believe may be related to the problem caching relevant folders.. done (0.00) loading sounds.. done (0.01) loading tricks.. done (0.14) loading locale texWords.. done (0.01) loading texture headers.. loading basic textures.. done (39992 total) (0.32) finding needed texture binds.. done (0.00) creating composite textures.. done (39992 total) (0.02) creating trick textures.. done (0.02) swapping in localized textures.. done (0.02) setting texture binds.. Manga Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 The symptoms sound like your CoH files have gotten corrupted. Try deleting your homecoming, updates (if you have it), hc-bin32, hc-bin64, and hc-beta folders inside the Applications/coh folder and let Island Rum re-download them all.
Ernesto Posted November 30, 2019 Author Posted November 30, 2019 (edited) Doing a clean re-install as we speak (and hoping it's a local corruption rather than a wider issue), its just the downloading is bit slow is all. Will update once finished. Edited November 30, 2019 by Ernesto
Ernesto Posted November 30, 2019 Author Posted November 30, 2019 The re-install did nothing, so I renamed my wine prefix (~/.privatewine) and had the system create a new one and this fixed the issue, it did however cause a new issue for me - I lost sound instead! I did then manage to fix the sound (details here), but I also noticed that in Options, the Graphics & Audo tab had changed (see attached screen shot and compare to the one in the initial post). At some point I may switch back to my previous wine prefix and see if I can get the options to update to match the new ones and see if that fixes the issue too (Guessing I need to do something so it stops using the CEL shader?). Will update if I have any progress with that.
