Could you link where you found this information about recharge times? HD doesn't show it for damage procs. I know I have my AS at 76% recharge and the Hide proc only happens... I can't really say... but one in three ou four AS'?

The guide on how this all works is here:

But if you don't really care about the whys & hows, you can just put the applicable numbers in the sheet linked in the bottom of this post & it'll spit out the chance to proc with your current slotting and/or the maximum amount of +rech that can be slotted & keep tma 90% chance, depending on what you're after:

I'd still suggest having a look at the guide itself, as I'm always of the opinion that understanding any game's systems will help you make better decisions for many more aspects of that game than just the system(s) themselves. Perhaps more pertinently, it also has a link to a list of all the PPM and % chance values (there's only a few of the latter left at this point), along with full details of what the procs actually do.

If that stuff isn't what you're asking for you'll have to forgive me, I need to get some sleep. I'll check back in tomorrow.

According to the link you posted AS can go up to 81% recharge to keep a 90% chance to proc Superior Stalker's Guile. Not sure if I'm doing it right.

This is good because I have a tight rotation and I prefer losing out on PPM chance than having gaps where I wait for things to recharge.

This is good because I have a tight rotation and I prefer losing out on PPM chance than having gaps where I wait for things to recharge.

2 things:

1.) If that # comes out negative, that means that it's impossible for the given PPM to have a 90% proc chance with the power info that's been entered. You can see the text that explains this over to the right of the output cell.

2.) Since you got a negative output # it seems like something went wrong. Most likely there's some non-zero values in the cells used to calculate the proc chance for AoEs, and you probably didn't notice them because they're wll below the rest of the stuff & I think it had some values there when I downloaded it myself,  so they're probably still there.

Here's a very poorly edited screenshot to show what I'm talking about & the results I got:20200116_093050.jpg.9265f08a2b43921efaf3d4e192fe5e34.jpg

I think that for the most part those fields speak for themselves, but the important part is that you want those bottom 2 cells to be 1 if you're calculating ST attacks, which means you want  the top 2 cells to be blank or zero. Technically you can put something in the Arc cell & it won't  affect the calculations unless there's also something in the Radius cell, but they might as well just be left blank if they aren't being utilized for the power in question.

Oddly, I think in my posts on this yesterday I said it could handle up to 58% & be capped, but when I went to make an "example" screenshot my results came back as 53. My assumption is that I just misread the 3 as an 8, cause when I try to think back I'm pretty sure it was 53% the other times I'd done it (but I've got a very hazy memory these days).

In kinda-related news, the fact that AS has potentially very different activation times between the Hidden & un-Hidden versions can & will influence the results, because the PPM system will apparently calculate the proc chance based on the animation used to trigger the roll. Because of this & the fact that I can't find good documentation on AS's activation time, I'm not terribly sure what the proper activation time is for AS, or if that activation time is the same across all primaries (I believe I got the 1s from my in-game UI for Savage's AS, & I just assumed the fast activation times for AS were all 1s for balance reasons) but if the activation time is greater than the 1s I put in to calculate my result then the power will end up with more "space" to its cap than what I gave (& of course if it's less than 1s it'll have less). It certainly doesn't feel like my Stalker's AS has a 1.67s animation time like you used, but I certainly don't know what the exact value is...

Edit: if you want to see the actual proc chance you have with what you have (or plan to have) slotted you can obviously use the top portion of that document. The Arc & Radius fields still need to be set properly, but if your slotting comes out close enough to the 90% cap that you think it's worth the rotational improvements that the bonus recharge gives that's totally a personal call. I'll also point out that different primaries would find the Hide proc more or less useful. It's a huge deal for SM at least, because Hemorrhage from hide apparently does more damage than an AS from hide would. But if it were KM or some other set without a big hitter to make good use of the auto-crit then it probably won't matter a whole lot.

I see what you mean. Correcting the fields did give me an 86% chance of the Hide proc triggering which seems to be about right and close enough to 90% which is the cap. Thanks for the exchange of info, Sero 🙂

Blade-related Assassin's Strike powers have an animation of 1.67 seconds - I was incorrect when I was thinking 1.33, but basically all of the short versions are 2 seconds shorter than the animation time listed for the long version:

This is all pure theory work by me, I'm not the best build maker but I'm curious about Street Justice/Bio. We know StJ is the hardest hitting of the stalker primaries and I'm curious if paring it up with Bio would result in ridiculous o'clock levels of damage. Firstly...AoE sleep area instead of the AoE Dot aura...boo! I mean it makes sense since you don't want it to break stealth but still. Secondly here's my 'lets just throw this out there and see what sticks' build, going for broke, no expense spared, just to see what you guys think.

Throw these into the spoiler tag, mein freund. As for the sleep thing, the reasoning seems to be that Stalkers have a mechanic that enemies who are held or slept get auto crits (or a chance for better crits?). Frozen Aura in Ice + Genetic Corruption can do some unfortunate things to mobs, in theory.

I feel you have made too many sacrifices to reach 45% and paid for it in bad slotting, like Sweeping Cross for example where a Sup Avalanche would do you better in raw stats and not having to mule Punch. My usual advice to aim for 40% and let Barrier handle the rest rears up again.

You get more bang for your buck by slottting the uniques in Health than +5ing normal IOs.

Other that than that everything seems to be in place.

Okay, here is attempt #2 at my Electric melee/Bio. (Thanks to @Sovera for the superior ENH slotting suggestions and pointing out the things i missed.)

Looking at the sheet numbers, I think it will be a bit on the tougher side for a stalker, which is more or less what I am going for. I swapped a few powers around, and still stuck with the powers that I liked (Shadow Meld and Parasite Aura.)

It sneds up with 45ish % defense to most, 78% to AoE. Still ends up with 66.5% resistance to S/L, but still has the energy/negative/psi holes, but I dont think thats a suprise to anybody.

With Shadow Meld on the defense jumps way up to 76% defense vs most, and 109%(wtf) defense. Pretty sure that goes way past cap though, but its still nice to see on a sheet. And this is without taking things like barrier/incarnate stuff into account. Plus with Sovera's suggestions I think this stalker will still hit pretty hard. Not sure how to test that by looking at it, but, feeling pretty good about this one.

Anyway, comments and critiques are always welcome! (sorry Sovera, I dont know how to do the spoiler tag bit. But I think this data link works? If not let me know.)

Thanks bunches in advance!

One of the things I've found to look out for is if you have Hide toggled on, since that massively pushes up defenses. However by toggling it off in mids you're also not getting the full picture.  Hide, depending on how you slot it when 'suppressed' seems to give around 3-4% defense (3% with just the LotG def/Global recharge in it)

Mechano has it right. Go to options, Configuration, Effects&Math, and then on Suppression check the boxes for Attacked, Hit by foe, Activate attack click. This will give your Hide (and any other Stealth powers) the actual numbers while in combat. You currently have near the board 40% to everything which works very well for the Barrier approach.

If you want to take it a step further you can also go to Options, configuration, Exemping&Base values and then change Base ToHit to 38%. This is going to simulate the accuracy in hitting a +3 enemy (which is how a +4 enemy ends once we have an Alpha T3 or higher slotted in. Remember to click Offensive Adaptation in HD since it gives a ToHit buff.

Remember to +5 the IOs in Hasten, Build-up, and the Damage/end in AS, the endmod in Stamina/boundless, etc.

As fir the spoiler it's the eye icon when you're writing a post.

Ok so here's the updated Street Justice/Bio armor build see what you guys think. Has around 40-41% def once hide is suppresed once just the rare quality agility is put in (not that hard to get) with barrier that naturally puts her to around 45-46% def once its in its lowest stage. Opted to get a little more recharge as well, it is nowhere close to perma-hasten but trying for that would be too much of a sacrifice on defenses imo.

You have way way waaaaaaaaay to much accuracy to be fishing for more of it, broseph, use my advice about regarding setting the ToHit to 38. So you rejig your slots, definitely definitely add the purple damage proc to AS, perhaps one Force Feedback to Crushing Uppercut. Or one slot to Genetic Corruption, add the heal proc and then 5 slot the purple sleep set. Or one more recharge to Build-Up.

You're also missing out on a few % of S/L resistane by using a Red Fortune instead of a second Reactive defenses. Since Mace Beam seems to just be a mule why not go for the Weapon epic pool, grab Physical Perfection for moar Recovery and then maybe try to slot in exploding shuriken or something if you were after more AoE.

Ok last time, made a few changes as recommended. The Accuracy thing is kind of a byproduct of the various sets just happen to offer large +acc bonuses. Took out one of the Winter IO sets since it wasn't offering much beyond pushing my defenses past 42% (which isn't needed with barrier etc.) and replaced it with Ragnarok which means hasten should be perma with the FF +Recharge proc in crushing impact, hopefully.

Okay, thank you DR Mechano and Sovera. I didnt know about the hide effect. Will take a look when I get home at that.

@Sovera - by Barrier I assume you mean taking Barrier as the Destiny incarnate (Core for duration and not Radial I would guess?) to smooth out Defense and Resistance.

I havent gotten to the Incarnate part yet, as I wasnt sure what sort of holes would need patched. But I was leaning towards -

Alpha - Muscleature or possibly Agility. Not sure which would be needed most or if i will have an END problem.

Destiny - Typically I took Ageless, for an on demand END refill. But Bio also has some nice END recovery abilities, and this slot I am planning on taking barrier as is strongly suggested.

Judgement - I was planning Ion. I know people say this is the best anyway, but my character is a sort of Cyborg sort, so it makes sense for her to have it. (its also why i went electrical melee as a primary.)

Interface - I am thinking Diamagnetic here, for the tohit penalty to add to "effective" defense, and the regen debuff could be a nice help for AVs/Bosses. But Reactive might be nice too for more offensive option.

Lore - Warworks, because they fit the theme and "cybernetic" feel of the character.

Hybrid - Probially take Assualt here, Core embodiment for that 5 stack damage buff.

Yes, while the effect of Barrier dwindles over time it will always give a minimum of 5% which is the last 5% needed to softcap.

My choice for incarnates would be:

Musculature 45% if absolutely sure we don't need more endurance recovery. Otherwise the 33% version for the endurance. I see no point in the others.

Barrier, because 5%. Ageless is so predominant that someone is always going to pop it anyway.

Degenerative 75%. Someone needs to run tests between all of them (the 75% chance to do a fire DoT and the 75% chance to apply -res) to see which is better, but Degenerative works best on targets with more HP like AVs since it's a DPS increase (less HP means we kill it faster (caps at -14% HP for an AV), less HP means smaller regen ticks, which is what we fight against to lower an AV'S HP, so it's a double whammy) and anything with less HP is killed dead in seconds anyway. That said it is super common a pick and it does not stack higher than five, so if in eight people three or four or more have it it's wasted since it's stacking to five immediately and not budging. So taking a more hipster choice like Diamagnetic is definitely not a bad choice since it's an added debuff.

Assault. The damage buff if soloing lots (it's the bigger boost of the two) or double hit if teaming lots (less of a boost, but if we get lots of damage buffs we reach the cap and the damage buff will go to waste but not the double hit).

You still have waaaaaay too much accuracy. Why are you chasing for more with DNA Siphon and Parasitic Aura? Neither need slotting, and in the meanwhile you are severely underslotting Ablative which is your first line of defense. Look at AS for example. 146% hit chance against a +3. You could cull it down to 20% and still be in the 90% percentile allowing to slot another damage proc.

I also question the choice of Agility. A bit more endurance and a triffle of defense VS 45% more damage. Well, 30%ish once ED kicks in.

Why a snipe attack in a set that is overflowing with ST damage? At first glance I thought it was an AoE since StJ is a bit poor in that department.

I'll post the changes I'd do, but it's your build so just see if something feels right to be incorporated.

So.

- -res proc in Shin Breaker and Sweeping Cross. Sweeping Cross is your finisher while Crushing Impact is recharging and Shin Breaker is a builder, so you're going to be using both, so why not -res in both? Adn while at it, a damage proc for Sweeping Cross too. Pew pew single target!

- Purple damage proc in Crushing Impact, because why not add another 100 damage 90% of the time?

- There is so much accuracy I left AS with zero and even so it has a 95% of hitting +3. Extra damage proc in there because why not?

- Ablative properly slotted.

- More recharge for BU because the insta recharge proc is nice, but it's still just a 5% chance. It's great in AoE but not going to go off nearly as much in ST situations.

- Chance to placate in the purple sleep set. Placated enemies take auto crits. No idea about the chance to placate, but why not?

- Even though the Performance Shifter's 2nd bonus isn't very exciting why skimp on less travel time between spawns?

-Unbreakable +7.5% HP, nom nom.

- The power not taken is because HD bugs out on Stalkers and doesn't allow me to change epic pools... and I'm sorry but I couldn't be arsed to re-do the build from scratch just to change the epic pool. It's supposed to be Physical Perfection in Weapons so you have more than the 4.2 recovery that can be seen and it's slotted like Stamina is.

- I went for Musculature 33% for the endurance, but I'm 90% sure you don't need more endurance considering all the procs on top of the raw EPS, and can thus do Musculature 45%. I'm sinning towards overdoing it but I leave my opinion here.

I am sure this could be further refined.

One thing I'm hoping for is when the test server comes back to its non-live state that I can simply see how this plays. If I'd have known how my elec/shield stalker played I probably wouldn't have gone to the problem of getting her up to level 50 and completely IOing her out as she just feels...eh...to me, far too squishy imo even with all the the trimmings.

As for the sleep thing, the reasoning seems to be that Stalkers have a mechanic that enemies who are held or slept get auto crits (or a chance for better crits?). Frozen Aura in Ice + Genetic Corruption can do some unfortunate things to mobs, in theory.

This is a pvp mechanic.

20% chance to crit on mezzed players.

Good to know. so basically Genetic Corruptions appears to be mostly useless unless we are looking at the heal proc and the -10% damage aura effect.

It interacts with one of the other armors and boosts your resistances too. Fairly significantly too in defensive mode (whoever plays in that mode?).

heal proc is pretty disappointing in the aura imo.

It probably has some uses for single target focused stalkers as the sleep might play some role. For aoe stalkers it is pretty skippable. At least on my sav/bio, I can't say it made any discernible difference beside from purple sleep IO's being fairly cheap.

Thanks Sov, didn't mean to be rude, your work is hella appreciated. 😄 However definitely am going to wait until we go test things out fully on the test server and then see how it plays/feels. Like I said, the elec/shield stalker was fun but felt crippled by the lack of a heal and the build didn't have the space or the slots to get it in and still maintain perma-hasten so I've stripped out the IOs and reworked my TW/Bio scrapper and I'll use the other stuff to help build other character :D.
