it starts out really strong. with web nade to get containment, decieve and flash hit like a mac truck. i had a level 50 ill em and a 50 bots trap mm in the old days so i know how each set does. Soloing is a breeze so far, and i can just imagine how much chaos im going to cause once i get maxed out.....anyone else cap this build?

This combo is HILAAAARIOUS. I'm no.inally slotted and it's nuts. My spectral terror is up every spawn. Drop that my invis is on so I can run right into the middle of the spawn dropping whatever I want. Meanwhile shield drone follows me giving my team a 15 percent buff to all defense. And I already have my phantom army down time to a minute. Seriously folks roll this combo it's amazing.

This combo was specifically never allowed on live because of how overpowered it would be. Unkillable pets, mezz protection,.reliable Containment, and strong base defense against all but Psi. Compared to the old AV killer combos, Ill/Rad and Ill/Cold, its heads and tails stronger, at least for this specific role.

Up to 32 now.  Gonna drop Seeker Drones from my final build, they aren't worth the endurance with this setup.  Here's my Perma-PA build (uses max purples for the recharge, gonna be expensive)

Enjoying it so far. How's it working for you?

LOL, hehe.

You got DECEIVED into summoning a PHANTASM post from ages past. Your Seeker Drones found it regardless of its age, and you made sure that its Mortared into our current environment. Not in the slighest bit a DECOY that will fade in a FLASH, but will remain current, a TERROR to all right-thinking AVs hoping that no one TRIPs upon it.

I think this was one of my fastest to 50 builds ever.  Definitely fastest to 50 on a controller (I never really ran a GM hunter or Fire/kin tho).

I enjoyed it!  It's a bit of a different playstyle than my past Illusionists, I remember ITFs being the most obvious example of needing to think differently on how to support the group with debuffs and damage without getting burned. Aggro management on a couple severely un-optimized ITF teams was very much a new puzzle I was solving on the fly, and for the most part I had the pieces to get us through.

Anyway, sorry for such a late response!  I should've replied back in May!

It's an illusion controller so it's got an early leg up on some other control sets in terms of direct damage, but it's still a controller so it's not exactly fast.  Soloing an illusion controller is fun for me because I have to be quick on me feet - it's not a question of do more damage before I run out of hit points, it's that plus confuse one guy, maneuver those two guys on top of each other so blinding one has a chance to sleep the other, etc.

What /traps does is put more tricks in the bag for illusionists, allowing you to get into even more ridiculous situations and have a grand time trying to weasel your way through them.  Again - not fast by any means, but absolutely both challenging and entertaining
