I have a staff/SR scrapper at 50. He is a great deal of fun for a period of time but then he gets boring. Not getting hit by anything is awesome but at some point I want a damage aura of some sort plus a heal/end button to click

I think of Hero Named Ted as my easy mode for when I am a little too tired/high/drunk to be able to focus and click on a complicated chain of events.

Super tough and defeats lots of baddies though.

You would probably get lots of thoughts in the scrapper/brute/tank subforums.

I've always felt it was rude when people go off on someone posting off topic, so please don't take this that way.  But, you will get more responses if you ask this question in the general discussion or in the AT specific boards instead of a server specific board.

  • Thanks 1

Active on Excelsior:

Prismatic Monkey - Seismic / Martial Blaster, Shadow Dragon Monkey - Staff / Dark Brute, Murder Robot Monkey - Arachnos Night Widow

This doesn't seem rude. You're helping OP to get more responses to a question. It's helpful advice.

To answer OP question, I would do it on a Scrapper or Stalker. Dark Melee/SR is often cited as a killer combo

If you like Sentinels, I'd urge you to check out Super Reflexes on them. They get a unique power, Master Brawler, that IMO makes the set more interesting and a bit stronger. You can still easily softcap your defense on Sentinels too.

It pairs well with any primary, as it has no offensive powers that force you to get close.

I have a SR/MA Tanker that I love.  Tanker numbers are just balls ass amazeface amazing.  The tanker patch allowing Dragon's Tail at level 20 (available at posi and synapes) pushed me over the edge to make and IO the hell out of this

Softcapped def (with storm kick's 10% def to all) even at Positron levels.  And with insane 95% def debuff resistance I rarely have to worry about Cascading Defense Failure and my insp tray is F2/3/4 Greens and F5 Blues and I eat whatever falls into F1.

Tough should be slotted: 3 ribos, 2 3% defs, 7.5%hp

Weave should be a Def IO mule.  lotg, 3% and 5% resist, whatever you want WEAVE SHOULD NEVER BE TOGGLED ON AND IO MULE ONLY DUE TO TANKER NUMBERS BEING GIGANTIC I TOOK IT AT LEVEL 30

Outside of that, IO slotting can be whatever the hell you want.  I went with making my S/L resist as high as I can get it, which ended up to be around 50% meanwhile others are around 20-25%

Yes! I myself have a DM/SR scrapper and i love it! Definitely will want to soft-cap your positional defenses.
My toon is based of the Scarlet Speedster. Back on Live I chose DM for Shadow Maul. This time around I tried Street Justice and Kinetic melee and didn't like the synergy of them with SR.
With SR you definitely want a self heal and DM has one (siphon life) which also works out into the attack chain rotation so win-win!
I'm on Excelsior if you'd like to team sometime and check him out.
Character name is Impulsive Bart

SR Tanks are very viable and very cheap to even be uber-tough on Incarnate-level stuff.

You might not think so but it's true.  Just go for the healing destiny and you're golden.  I paired it with Ice Melee to have even more mitigation.  No cascade failure because SR has defense debuff resistance.
