Kaliselia Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Well my very first Hero started out as an Electric/Electric Blaster. But as she leveled up she found that she had certain skills that meant she could bust Bosses faces in up close and personal. So she became a Blapper. When she got into 30+ level range she was on the lookout for large groups of bad guys since she knew that they would go down fast. She also love trolling for Bosses that were hanging out (love to bust those TV Head Bosses). Blappers were completely fun to play since as a Blaster you were super Squishy but you could really dish out some punishment. Oh and if you had a Controller Healer buddy tagging along you could take more risks. Drove my Controller buddy crazy since I would just jump into the middle of a group of Bad Guys and he would have to work on keeping me alive. Oh and while I might get dropped now and again and incur some debt I never had an issue with debt since I would just burn it off. So a call out to all you who love playing as a Blapper.
Darkaiser Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 I tried it but even though I had two that were fun, it wasn't to my taste unless I was in a certain mood.
catsi563 Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Had several Bale fire was all fire and Panda was all Dark both made liberal use of the melee attacks Both my WS and PB could also blap quite nicely My Dear you deserve the services of a great wizard but youll have to settle for the aid of a second rate pick pocket ~Schmendrick So you mean you'll put down your rock, and I'll put down my sword; and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?
Force Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Blappers were so fun. Had a Fire/Em that I used for both PvE and PvP. Different builds of course.
Shard Zero Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Shard Zero was an ice/energy blapper. Not so much jumping in the middle of mob groups than moving in and out and taking down bosses then lieuts. Freeze Ray + Bitter freeze Ray + Aim + Build Up then run in and Smash Smash Smash ! :o) And throw in a blast or two waiting for the heavy punches to return (plus freeze holds as soon as they cooldown). It's way more destructive than a scrapper, with the thrill of going in more or less naked (lots of "zzzzzz" ahead without a def or a troller to look after you). I also didi an elec/elec blaster, but didn't reallly played it as a blapper, focusing on the energy drain less than the scrapping (and the drain was just amazing ).
Valverde Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Blappers were awesome! You really felt strong in some way.
Vanden Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 I always thought Blapper was a silly thing. We needed a special name for Blasters who actually used their melee attacks? That's just a proper Blaster! Blasters are damage-dealers. What we should've had was a special name for wimpy Blasters who only ever used ranged attacks. Roughtrade Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Bouncy Punch Pom Poms of DOOOOOOOM! Loved my Blapper. Only really played her around 20 to 25. No one wanted to group with me. But it was fun. And I took every hand to hand combat power that came up so I could see their point sometimes. If you do not face plant at least once a day; Go reset your Notoriety.
Exodus_V Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Bouncy Punch Pom Poms of DOOOOOOOM! Loved my Blapper. ^That. Pom Poms of DOOOOOM! So much fun to play!
WynterSnow Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 I did! I had a NRG/NRG Blapper named Rocket's Red Glare and she was an absolute blast to play. My husband made one called Bombs Bursting in Air and we would play Hellion volleyball.

I guess now we can call those "Sentinels", right? ;) Always loved mixing it until with my Electric blaster. Between three holds and the End drain, I was largely able to pick my moment, then get in there and wreck faces. Good times!
ferzth Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 My first toon on CoX: Superluminal. Fire/Fire/Fire Blapper. The only toon of mine that grinded his way to level 50. Took me about a year of RL. After that, it was all PL and Supergroup leveling of the rest of my toons. Blazing Aura, Hot Feet, Burn. Follow the Tank into the crowd and start throwing fire. Almost orgasmic. Didn't mind face-planting at all. It was just sheer fun to dive into mobs and start throwing down.
Xenon Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 issue 1 on day 1 of the game, i was an electric/electric blaster on infinity server. made it to lv 43, before i went scrapper and never looked back.
Kaliselia Posted April 29, 2019 Author Posted April 29, 2019 Always loved mixing it until with my Electric blaster. Between three holds and the End drain, I was largely able to pick my moment, then get in there and wreck faces. Good times! Yes they were though there were times when I jump into a group and the Bad guys Controllers Lt's would get off there holds before I could really get going. But find a Boss all by themself and I would suck his Endurance right away and all he would do is look at me while I busted their face in.
Man_From_AUNTIE Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 I had my Ele/Ele/Ele blapper that end drained everyone then just whittled down the bosses and then lts then the regular mobs. Fun times, the rush of hoping aim helped hitting everyone then watching the boss's end and trying to keep it at 0, especially the mezzers. I ran my blapper as a end vampire(hehe) than killed through suckitude.
