Snarky Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 This PvP enhancement is messing with my head. The description (clearly?) states it works in PvP Does it work in PvE? yes, I see all the best builders use it, just being thorough. Does it work in a "Click Power" and give the passive bonuses? (something like Dull pain from Invulnerability ) Or does it need to go into something like Health? Thanks.
Bill Z Bubba Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 As a set piece, if you 6 slot panaceas into a click like dull pain, you'll always get the set bonuses. The PvE for PvE, and the PvE+PvP in PvP. The proc will only fire off when you click dullpain. So it's better to stick it in an always on passive power like health or physical perfection. The Preventative Medicine +absorb proc, however, works regardless of whether its in a passive or click power. For my take on click heals, I just 3slot three different heal/absorb/recharge IOs and call it a day. Probably not optimal but it saves slots for other powers. 3
Bopper Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Panacea works the same as any other proc. It has a 3 PPM, so if you put it in health (where your AreaFactor is 1) you can expect it to have a 50% chance to fire every 10 seconds. You can put it into click powers if you think it will fire more frequently than once per 20 seconds. If you have Siphon Life as an attack, it might be decent putting it in there (Theft of Essence proc too). It really depends on how you play. 1 PPM Information Guide Survivability Tool Interface DoT Procs Guide Time Manipulation Guide Bopper Builds +HP/+Regen Proc Cheat Sheet Super Pack Drop Percentages Recharge Guide Base Empowerment: Temp Powers Bopper's Tools & Formulas Mids' Reborn
Heraclea Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 You will know if your Panacea is working. Every so often you will see a +NN above your character if you have it slotted in a passive or in an underwear toggle. You will still get these notices at full health, and if you are doing something like crafting or messing with a costume you may see several at once when you stop. 1 QVÆ TAM FERA IMMANISQVE NATVRA TB ~ Amazon Army: AMAZON-963 | TB ~ Crowned Heads: CH-10012 | EX ~ The Holy Office: HOLY-1610 | EV ~ Firemullet Groupies: FM-5401 | IN ~ Sparta: SPARTA-3759 | RE ~ S.P.Q.R. - SPQR-5010 Spread My Legions - #207 | Lawyers of Ghastly Horror - #581 | Jerk Hackers! - #16299 | Ecloga Prima - #25362 | Deth Kick Champions! - #25818 | Heaven and Hell - #26231 | The Legion of Super Skulls - #27660 | Cathedral of Mild Discomfort - #38872 | The Birch Conspiracy! - #39291

VileTerror Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 I have plenty of underwear toggles. I usually leave them turned off, though. They just tend to get in the way. 2 1

VileTerror Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 (ok, Real Talk for a second here . . . are "Underwear Toggles" actually a thing?! Like some kind of gamer slang for S/L Resist Toggles or something?) 3
Heraclea Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 An underwear toggle is one you put on first thing and usually leave on. .... 2 QVÆ TAM FERA IMMANISQVE NATVRA TB ~ Amazon Army: AMAZON-963 | TB ~ Crowned Heads: CH-10012 | EX ~ The Holy Office: HOLY-1610 | EV ~ Firemullet Groupies: FM-5401 | IN ~ Sparta: SPARTA-3759 | RE ~ S.P.Q.R. - #39291
Bopper Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Like most super heroes, I wear my underwear on the outside. VileTerror Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Wait . . . then aren't ALL Toggles "underwear?" (Sorry; I'm being a bit tongue-in-cheek again. Still this is the first I've heard of that term. Been playing since Issue 0, with a hiatus of a few years a while ago. I guess I've just never been in the sort of social circles which use that term.)
Major_Decoy Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Well, no. I mean. I'll often turn of leadership powers when solo, or Oppressive Gloom. Super Jump definitely gets turned off during combat.
Snarky Posted March 7, 2020 Author Posted March 7, 2020 I tend to always leave on all toggles. I have even been chastised for taking an expensive toggle that is “situational” and just leaving it going. But i run a lot of dark where shoveling to fill up the blue bar is just part of the fight
Heraclea Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 I tend to run my mez protection and all of the defensive/resistance/regen toggles all the time. I usually turn on Sprint as well on any team; on a stealthy that also has an IO that improves stealth. But the stealth toggles must be killed in some situations and I am always forgetting to do that. Major_Decoy Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 I tend to turn off toggles on my Radiation tank when I'm not in combat because the noises are annoying. I've only run into combat without remembering to turn them back on once. 1 3
Ironblade Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 Oh, has this become a discussion of toggles? I direct you to the story of Toggle Man. 1 Originally on Infinity. It's not a nomenclature I've used before, and it kind of makes sense, but it lends itself to constructions like "I ran out of end and my underwear dropped." 3 1
