Favorite pet names

I can't remember if you get to name your pets for other classes but masterminds get to have a lot of fun naming their pets for sure.

 

I was just going back through old screenshots and found this one.

 

The character's name was Dark Future, and these were her demon pets.

 

 

I still get a laugh out of telemarketer.

Demon summoning/Time manipulation, for those curious.

My Illusion Controller, Carmela Soprano has "Essence of Tony" as Phantasm, Car, Mel, and-La as Phantom Army. (Carmela splits into 3) But my favorite name change is for my Lore Pets (Cimeroran Soldiers) named Meatball and Baked Ziti.

My Beasts MM has Theseus, Heracles, and Achilles for the wolves, Antiope and Hippolyta for the lionesses, and Athena for the big wolf.

 

Maybe my lore pets are more interesting:  Siouxsie Sioux and Patti Smith; Ron Jeremy and Stormy Daniels; Frida Kahlo and Georgia O'Keeffe; Britney and Shania; Pompeius Magnus and Helius Parvus.

The Unquiet Bride's zombies back in Live days were all named after Jane Austin characters... 'Made a few people grin when she would ask Willoughby why he was wandering aimlessly again, or when she would "kindly request that Brandon DO SOMETHING about those insufferable Hellions"... And that was before Pride & Prejudice & Zombies came along and made it all so, SO much sillier. XD

 

Hanano's ninja were named after a few of the guardian characters from Haruanaru Toki no Naka de. A reference no one ever recognized.

 

Amtes' demons are named after Sumerian constellations.... I don't team with her, so no one has had the opportunity to catch on to that theme.

 

My first Illusion/Time Controller's pets were more fun. Ferryman was basically an Animus Arcana... a living spell. His pets were Phantasmal Force... Fear... Magic Missle, Stone Skin and Feather Fall... His Lores were Fireball and Ray of Frost... and he named a couple of the controller ATO Energy Font pets Light and Blink. There was a fair bit of nerding-out among the Usual Suspects over that. XD

I named my thugs after the warriors (The gang movie). Interestingly enough, you can't name a pet snow, so I had to improvise a bit.

When of my many character concepts was one based on USS Enterprise from Azur lane.

 

Her drones were Hellcat, Wildcat and Bearcat (all naval fighters). Her Protector bots were Dauntless and Helldiver (both dive bombers) and her Assault Bot was USS Farragut (Destroyer ship)

My Banished Pantheon Ravager is named Cuddles, and the Banespawn is named Bitsy.

 

Not really a pet, but Cuddles was also the name I referenced from my old Dark/Cold Corruptor when she used Tenebrous Tentacles - I made keybinds for "Go get 'em, Cuddles!", "He's just saying hi!", and "No, Cuddles! Bad touch!" that I would use occasionally on teams for giggles. Since I didn't recreate that character, I had repurposed Cuddles - the cone attack looks like he's trying for a hug!

I have a Merc MM and his guys are named Sword, Dagger and Shield (low level), Battle Axe and War Hammer (mid level) and Claymore (high level).

 

I have a Necro MM and his are Bopper, Richie, Buddy, then John and George and finally Elvis.

 

But the best one I every came across in game was a Ninja MM named ‘The Chairman’ and all his ninjas were named after Iron Chefs (Morimoto was the heavy, naturally!).

My space-marine-from-the-future beam/traps corrupter has

• Force Field Generator “Safety First”
• Acid Mortar “SUX-2BU”
• Seekers “Stupid” and “I’m With Stupid”

Not sure what I’d name the poison trap or triage beacon if it were possible.

Back on Live I had a Mercs MM who employed the Cheat Commandos.  The Soldiers were Fightgar and Gunhaver.  The Medic was Silent Rip.  The Spec Ops were Firebert and Ripberger.  The Commando was (obviously) Reinforcements.  As a bonus I had extra macros that made them deliver their box taglines as well as another one that made them all shout the CC's rally cry (Cheat Commandos... Rock, Rock On!)

 

My current MM project is a Thugs/Sonic by the name of Garage Band.  She is the lead singer and her thugs are her bandmates and some staff.  The Bruiser is The Drummer.  The Enforcers are The Guitarist and The Bassist.  The Punks are The Roadie and The Groupie while the Arsonist is The SFX Guy.

The Poison Trap would obviously be "Happy Fun Ball".

My Grav/FF's Singularity pet is called -->  "Gee-a-Pet"  (a little pun on Chia Pet),

and the Lore Pets are a Rularuu Overseer and a Bull Natterling named:  "Sauron" & "Da Chimp", respectively.

You can rename your Lore pets?

Yep!

Patron pets, Controller type pets, Dark Servants and those little fireball and energy font things from the ATOs, too.

 

ETA: If you're a villain or a rogue, you can even rename your Ouro Portal. XD (Heroes and vigs, alas, can't do that.)

I had no idea.  In fact, I only learned that the Blue Wisp and the other P2W summoned pets could be named a couple months ago.   Several characters have named their Wisps 'Mallory.'

I wish blue-siders had the renamable version of the Ouro Portal power... It irks me a little that the original, rogue version of Kai has hers named "Illusion Gate" (a reference to the travel portals that Sorcerers in Aion can summon-), while the blue-side heroic version of the same character can't name hers to match. A minor thing, sure... But it tweaks my OCDish-tendencies something fierce. XD

My namesake is a kobold wizard character I made in Dungeons & Dragons. Since he's illusion, I named my decoys Melf, Bigby, and Mordenkainen to match that theme.

Back on live, I named my thugs after the Outsiders. I named my soldiers after Kelly's Heroes. My bots were named after classical composers.

Back when CoV first went live, I rolled a bots/traps mastermind. Due to the AI’s nature I quickly dropped my plans to give them clinical engineering style names and instead renamed my first drone “Glitchy.”

 

When I got the second drone I named it “Crashy” so it became “The Glitchy & Crashy Show.”

 

When I got my second tier of bots, the Glitchy name moved to that bot and the second bot became Smashy (on account of his continually trying to run into melee). The third small bot became Bashy.

 

When the Assault Bot finally arrived, Glitchy got his final upgrade. The two Protector Bots got renamed to Junk Heap and Scrap Heap.

 

Thus, the final array was;

Glitchy, Junkheap, Scrapheap, Bashy, Crashy and Smashy.
