Thematically, I love two things in this game: Scrappin' and shockin'!

I have a fantastically awesome backstory for my hero involving pee and an electric fence at a nuclear power plant and the costume I made is exactly what I want. So now the big question is, can I make Elec/Elec a thing?

Looking for veteran build makers who can help me create a great all-around build that won't leave me winded and with lots of AoE action. Is it possible? Can someone rise to the challenge?

It's possible, yes, but this combination in particular is one where you might want to look at a different AT since to me it the pairing seems weakest (although still good) on Scrappers.

Personally I would recommend a Stalker: you'll have better single target damage from Assassin's Strike. The biggest complaint most people have with Electric Melee is that it's lacking in single target damage. What you'll give up is Lightning Field (which doesn't taunt on Scrappers), some base damage, Lightning Clap (which is usually skipped), a less effective Build Up (but due to the ATO it'll be available more often), and some hit points.

For Brutes, you pick up some hit points and a 90% resistance cap, and your attacks will taunt what they hit making them less likely to run away. You give up criticals and have to maintain Fury to be competitive on damage, but Lightning Rod doesn't critical anyway and Fury is easier to maintain than it's ever been. If you build for it, you can also cap most of your resistances fairly easily, or all of your resistances with a dedicated build.

Tankers will have even more AoE damage because of the larger AoE sizes, even more hit points, and are much easier to cap resistances on than Brutes.

Thanks for that.  I really needed a good laugh this morning.  🤣

Can't help with your build, but giving you massive style/humor points.

You see a mousetrap? I see free cheese and a f$%^ing challenge.

Thanks for all of the input! Here's Megavolt's bio for those of you who might be interested in the level of my immaturity.

megavolt bio 2.jpg

Based on that bio this character really could be any AT. Blaster, Brute, Stalker, Scrapper, Defender, etc. Electricity is all over the place! I tried the Elec/Shield scrapper combo, but I really missed the constant AoE goodness. Should I stick with scrapper? Reroll as a Blaster? Join the millions of satisfied Brute players?

I am not too familiar with Elec outside melee chars, a colleague of mine used to have an Elec/Elec Blaster and he always complained about the nuke, and that was with old nukes so I guess the situation has not improved, yet, it was just an opinion. I personally found electric melee a tad lackluster on Brutes so I'd personally stick to Scrapper or Stalker. Elec melee on a stalker is awesome and you still can get further aoe via pools / patron powers.

Regarding electric armor, well, I never had a problem with it, currently I have an Elec/Spines tank and a Stone/Elec Brute, they're not the first choice I make whenever an ITF is going on but they rock on pretty much anything else.

Elec/Elec Controller (or Domi) is something I have been curious but when I start planning a build, I keep ditching way too many powers that strike useless to me so never really got into them, might do now that I am approaching the point where I do not know what else to roll though.

Edit: That bio is awesome rofl
