Chalkarts Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I want to play with some ice or fire melee but I have a problem. I loathe the graphics for the sword powers. I don't know why but they irritate me. It's totally a me problem, lol. Is it feasible to still have a powerful tank/brute of either kind skipping the sword powers? 3

Caulderone Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Brute could do Scorch, Cremate, Incinerate for ST attacks. Less damage, but doable. But, stuck with FSC for AoE. Tanker can do Scorch and Incinerate, but you pretty much need one more ST attack. You could pull that from a power pool (cross punch, maybe), but then it isn't a "fire" attack. You could do Combustion and skip FSC. I caved and just use Fire Sword, though I would really like another animation option, and I took FSC because I wanted the extra AoE. So, it can be done, but your damage will not be "max".
Redlynne Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Frozen Fists, Frost, Frozen Touch and Frozen Aura combine well enough into a decent attack chain. No icicle swords required. Verbogeny is one of many pleasurettes afforded a creatific thinkerizer.

But there are many things I'd like to see in terms of power animation options. 1 2 ..It only takes one Beanbag fan saying that they JRANGER it for the devs to revert it.

I acknowledge and respect the fact that it was originally a static system with NO power customisation so I'm delighted to be able to do ANY changes to the powers. But let's be honest, if we were redesigning it, we'd have something vague like Choose Ranged/Melee, Beam or Projectile "ranged beam arm-as--cannon", "ranged beam weapon-based effect", "ranged beam eye", etc Then; "Energy effect beam" "Fire effect beam" "Ice effect beam" "Laser effect beam" etc. ...
