Kemanor Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 Hi all, I'm running into a problem. Once the game is running and I try to create a character, the game invariably crashes as soon as I get to the "Body" tab. The message is from Nvidia open GL driver: An application has requested more GPU memory than is available in the system. Thre application will now be closed. I'm running 2 Gtx 550 Ti's (sli) and each has 2gb gpu ram on it... Tried rebooting, tried lowering resolution and graphic settings, driver updates...Nothing gets me past this error. It seems weird to me that for a game this old it can request such a huge amount of memory and sitll crash... Any tips are appreciated.
Silk Posted May 19, 2019 Posted May 19, 2019 You have 2gb ram. When you sli ram the ram on each doesn't add up so you are do not get/use 4gb in all but only 2gb. https://www.wepc.com/tips/difference-between-nvidia-sli-and-amd-crossfire/ Install and Troubleshooting Guide v2 WayBackMachine old forums Calistin ~ on Discord.
Kemanor Posted May 19, 2019 Author Posted May 19, 2019 Ah ok. 2gb of gpu ram then :) Still, should it crash then? I did some more experimenting and figured out it's the FFA (I think it's called) setting that causes it. When I turn it off I can make it through. Will have to try turning it on again now that I'm past the character creation.
