Noob Question

Hello Everyone, 

 

I was planning a PB and had 2 questions 

If I slot a set on a power from the dwarf form, will the passives bonuses of the set (small bonus to resist, def, recovery + % dmg, ...) apply on all other forms too ? 

I wanted to play mainly on human form, is it viable and I saw he had no resist to effects in his powers so he needs combat jump and accrobatics to gain some resist to hold and immo ? Do you have other ways to protect yourself from nasty effects in human form (or perheaps is it stupid to play human form....), mezz resist than i saw on some sets are they enough  ?

To your first question, yes, set bonuses apply to all forms.

 

For your second, you get mez protection in 3 ways. The first is in Dwarf form which you can pick up at 20. This would be a reason to not go human-only, at least while leveling up. The second is in Light Form, the final armor power. You'll want to get the recharge from buffs/set bonuses/force feedback procs/teammates to make this power up all the time when you can. The only problem here is that you don't get this power until later on. The third way is through your inherent, Cosmic Balance, which grants you a single point of mez protection for every controller or dominator teammate within a certain range. This isn't a consistent or very effective way to get mez protection though, so it's better to just look at it as a bonus to the protection you can get from the other two sources.

 

As a side note, there is a guide in my signature on how to combine inspiration drops into ones that you actually want. I originally made it specifically for Kheldians to create Break Free inspirations before I added the other inspiration options. Mez is a bigger problem on Warshades who don't get any protection to it from their final armor, and I still use the Break Free combination on mine if I don't have the Clarion destiny incarnate (which is another way to get mez protection).

 

Human form is fine if that's what you want, but I'd recommend at least trying the forms. They also make leveling a whole lot easier.

I'd recommend against human only while leveling.  The damage from bright nova is just too good.  As Microcosm mentioned dwarf is where its at for most of your protection while leveling, since you don't need breakfrees.  You can simply shift into dwarf when held, immobd, etc... and also you get a monster heal when in dwarf form.  At 50 even with perma light form, dwarf still gives an extra heal, and an extra aoe.  Personally I'd take some time to read up on keybinds before playing a PB or WS.  They will make your playtime so much easier, and definitely a lot more fun.  That's part  of the reason I avoided the AT when I played on live, and had no idea what I was missing out on.

Totally viable human only. It just doesn't have the same level of utility. Seems to have decent status resistance.

Yes, all set bonuses, so long as they don't violate The Rule Of 5, apply.
