Do you happen to have a build for SM/EA? I feel like I'm not slotting EA nearly enough, but since I've never used it before I'm at a loss for which powers need more slots.

There's a thread here in the stalker section on DB/EA where I posted a small guide. I don't post guides anymore, but that one is up in a thread here.

I’m going to be laughed off of the forums, but probably my favorite combo for Stalkers is still Dark Melee/Ninjutsu. It’s a scrappy grab-bag of utility and mostly-ST damage with a surprising amount of built-in healing. I have a lot of sentimentality attached to my DM/Nin Stalker. It was my first redside 50 back on live.

Kinetic/Bio I found fun. Kinetic is super fast and the low damage is partially offset by Bio and then triple damage procs in each attack. As much as praise is sung to other sets for AoE I found Burst's 100% crit chance out of Hide to be a spawn killer.

Staff/Fire

People avoid /fire on the forums and that's exactly why I'm promoting it. In this age of everyone defense soft capping /fire does just fine. I even took whirlwind for moar SPIN.

SPIN to win, burn to WINNNN

I play an Elec/Fire and it's pretty great

Savage/Energy. More fun than I ever thought I would have on a stalker.

Deliciously fun. Survivable, sustainable. A plethora of AoE carnage.

BL > Leap > AS > Flurry. Tons of AoE. Lots of bloody proccing goodness.

Zapp is nice to have to for the cowards that run away.

Kin/fire

Burst feels like a 100% crit chance from hide/placate/ATO proc

INITIAL DAMAGE Burn crits naturally/can be forced

Using stealth proc + conc strike can keep build up going for awhile

healthy attack chain early on

crits in Energy damage

early bloomer, only gets stronger from there

Staff/Nin

2 aoes before 20

able to softcap easily (guarded spin + ioing for range/aoe

caltrops, smoke flash and blinding powder are nice and skippable allowing boxing/tough/weave.  Tough slotted with 3 Ribos, 2 3% def procs, 1 7.5% hp

I recently ressurected my "Stalk-tinel" build and it is a lot of fun.  Don't have a mids link on hand, but I can post later.

Elec/Invuln/Mu that runs all 4 ranged Mu attacks.  It plays like a tougher, higher damage Sentinel or the most unkillable Blapper you can imagine.  40+% Defense to all types, but Psi (softcapped if I'm running Barrier), 75/52/40/31 (SL/FC/EN/Psi) resists, a 30 second Lightning Rod and a pretty consistent AoE chain with Ball Lightning, Thunderstrike and Chain Induction.

Runners (the bane of Stalkers) are a non-issue as they get nabbed with Shackles (slotted with 3 damage procs + Devastation's hold proc, 90% chance to hold a boss in 1 hit) and then can be burned down with Zapp (2 proc) and Bolts without having to chase them down.

For single targets, they get buzzsawed by CB>CI>CB>AS>BL>CB looped, with Zapp sprinkled in if needed.  The animation times are basically non existent with that chain so you can really stack AS crit tokens quickly.

Nice, was wondering if anyone else a fan of dark melee for stalker, which doesn't seem to get much love.  Definitely my favorite.  Just love the feel of it, the exotic damage type, the generally quick attacks, the heal, the debuffs.  With the buff to shadow maul it isn't so badly low on the aoe scale now (relative to the average stalker set anyway).  I also actually prefer the quick casting, quick recharging, and powerful build up (with the ATO proc+Gausian proc in the build) more than soul drain, so what may be a negative to a lot is a positive to me.

Edit:  Also forgot the built in immobilize in midnight grasp is another boon.  Helps keep those AV's from running.

I have a kin/fire and a claws/fire and they handle just fine. I'm not sure why they're such rare birds. (My pair were both "unicorn" characters. At the point I leveled them to 50, no one else had done so according to the AT/set data the devs posted. A few others have made them since then, but they're still really unusual combinations.)

I knew that I had seen someone else talking about their claws/fire.  He was one of my projects for Unicorns Anonymous, but it’s a good enough build that I think it was just overlooked until recently-ish.  Not like some of the other monstrosities I’m working with...

My favorite Stalker combo that I've played is still my first - Street Justice / Super Reflexes.

StJ is a monster of a set in terms of dealing really competitive damage, having a good amount of soft control, flowing really well, and just being purdy. SR is great on Stalkers because you press Tab, F and charge at your next victim at Mach 7.

It's basically Batgirl on superadine and that's just awesome

Would you be able to post a build? I made a StJ / SR stalker based on this comment and it's feeling like a lot of fun. More than I've had in a while. I'm just unsure of an endgame build. And feel free to make it super expensive - the more the merrier. 😃 @Crater Kate

Couple of pointers about some of my preferences:

- I like my melee characters to be robust enough to solo as much as possible. This gives me the freedom to solo or team as I want to.

- On SR I highly, highly value hitting incarnate softcap of 59% rather than just the regular softcap of 45%. I've found the difference between the two to be night and day, and not just vs. incarnate enemies. In lots of incidental situations, having the chunk extra is very handy. (note, with hide suppressed but still toggled, my numbers aren't actually all isoftcapped -they are roughly 59/57/58 melee/ranged/aoe, which is close enough in my books)

- I despise running out of end. Particularly on a Stalker. A Stalker that can't maintain their highest dps chain indefinitely is a Stalker that eventually stops doing its job.

- I also like running fast.

All of those things combined means the build that works for me is sturdier than many other StJ/SR Stalkers, but conversely has to sacrifice a bit on the damage front. If you want a REALLY aggressive StJ/SR that will go squish a bit more, I'm pretty sure @StrikerFoxis the person to talk to.

I know you said cost wasn't an issue, but if you do want something that's a bit more in between in terms of cost because she is purpled to hell and back, I'll share some of my choices for leveling:

- Mako's Bite and Touch of Death were staples for ST melee attacks. The set bonuses are all around very very good for a set so cheap.

- Scirocco's Dervish and Annihilation were for Sweeping Cross and Spinning Strike. Same as above more or less.

- The 3 slot Overwhelming Force in Kick is entirely gravy because unslotted Kick makes my skin itch, those were two floating slots at the end, and I like the 3 piece set bonus.

- ATOs and Luck of the Gambler should be first priority, then health slotting, then Performance Shifters. That gets you most of the way there.

Hope this helped!

throwin in another vote for KM/Bio. The attacks are all fast and snappy (i skip focused burst and concentrated strike, both of which are noteable DPS losses anyways), it exemps beautifully, the animations are excellent, and the absurdly fast .67 activation time AS feels amazing. it's not the highest dps primary but it's still respectable with pylon times around 2 minutes with hybrid untoggled, and in practical gameplay the quick attacks work great. oh, and 100% crit burst is one of the most satisfying powers in the game.

No one said DM/DA so I will. He's a weird little puff of smoke that can lay waste to a room.

Proc our dark Regen for a little AoE and touch of fear can drop a hard target's to-hit into the basement.

My favorite bit, I'll probably recycle on all my stalkers (and probably scrappers) is the Experimentation power pool. The travel power gives you and instant teleport (not at all like the teleport pool) and I have it keybound to do all sorts of teleport blinks around.

Blink-kill-blink-kill-blink-kill. It's great fun.
