Looking for a SS/WP Brute build

Ageless Destiny FTW.

Is this Incarnate stuff which i know nothing about, yet.?

You can always go on the test server and try out all the builds and see what fits you best.  Far better to spend a couple hours doing respecs and changing enhancements for free vs spending hundreds of millions of inf only to find out you don't like it.

I tried to do that but unfortunately i will have to wait for the beta server to get a new patch. My account is new and therefore it is not available for me at this time. :'(

Yes.  The Incarnates basically work thus.

Alpha: Essentially it acts like a progressively more diversified IO that receives greater and greater immunity to Diminishing Returns.

So if you're having some Endurance generation issues and you want to pack on some additional Defense, go with something like Agility.

If you want to buff your Resists and cut down on your Endurance consumption, go with Cardiac.

Interface: A damage/debuff aura and triggers when your attacks land.

Judgement: Big flashy AoE attack

Lore: Incarnate level pet(s)

Destiny: AoE buffs/debuffs/heals/etc.

Hybrid: Damage and hold boosts.  Defense/Resist boosts.  Support boosts which kinda turns you into a Buffbot (Defense, Damage, Acc).

Basically, even if you're only rocking a "meh" build, these'll allow you to put much boot to much *AHEM* butt in relative safety.

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.

If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

That is one of the most unplayable builds I have ever seen.  Sure it may be hard to kill if you are facing S/L mobs but you should be doing more than Taunt....footstomp....KO Blow.....Footstomp.

You 6 slotted Rage and took Focused Accuracy and 6 slotted it as well.  1 recharge in Rage is all that is needed and you will be hitting +4 mobs 95% of the time.  Those slots can be put to better use elsewhere.  Then you took Handclap......Handclap.....on a /WP....I can see taking it as a filler for a set bonus but you stopped at 4 slots on the purple set which means you went that far just for the accuracy bonus which is by far overkill because your to hit is already through the roof.  You used the 5th slot for more knockback which is the last thing a /WP brute wants as that will floor their regen.

Why?  Gives you a few ranged options as well as an option to lock-down runners.

Also, the build I put up should exemp just fine.

Attack chain is ALWAYS a problem with SS.

Unfortunately Hand Clap is a complete waste of a power pick, as the ONLY thing it does is breaks up your carefully assembled mobs.

If it did even Minor damage, it'd be at least worth a look.  But not as it is.

This is not entirely correct.  Hand Clap while as it stands unslotted is not great for WP with a kb-kd and a feedback proc in it you can get good mileage out of it.  Keep in mind that if a mob is lying at your feet it isn't hitting you and is still contributing +regen so even if you only use the 1 slot it can be a nice bit of mitigation.

I'll just agree to disagree here.

A BUILT Tank really has no need for a zero-damage medium-control attack.  Even with KB converted to KD.
Quite simply, there are better power picks out there.

Though I could see it as Yet Another Option for those complaining about the Rage Crash.

Basically, as you exemp, you start losing attacks and armor, as well as the set bonuses slotted in them.

Don’t forget to tell them about Attuned Sets, which allow you to retain set bonuses throughout the entire range of the Invention Origin’s level.

also <HAND CLAP> attacks now come back up faster.  you seem to have missed that part.

Only so long as you retain the power.

You exemp out of Foot Stomp, the set bonuses in it go away too.

I didn't miss it.  I just don't find it a compelling reason to take Hand Clap.

It was a bad build. I stand my ground on Hand Clap though. I put a KB to KD in it and it shines bright as a damage mitigation tool. However, I myself am having issues with this SS/WP thing because I am trying to maximize my defense, while keeping Hand Clap and Cross Punch (in place of Haymaker). The reason I want my defense as high as possible is because malta or anything else with sapping abilities are killing me. So I have completely wiped my SS/WP brute and started all over.

Originally I went for the insanely high regen (which was what my first build I posted was all about) and quickly learned that it sounded great on paper, however, it hurts like hell when fighting anything that I did not have a strong defense or resist to...especially Sappers.

I myself could use some help, because no matter what I do, I simply can't get my defense high enough. Resistance comes naturally no matter how I build my build, so I honestly don't care so much about resist as I do about Defense. I typically come up with great builds (My Ice/Stone Tank is a God, nothing hurts this beast) but when it comes to SS/WP specifically, I am throwing in the towel and asking for help as well. Also, that "more knockback" thing in Hand Clap was a supplement for KB to KD, since one did not exist on Pines for Hand Clap (Even though one does exist in game.)

Trust me, I'm not as stupid as that looked, lol. Still though, this SS/WP build, no matter how I build it, I am not satisfied. I want high Energy/NegE Defense. The rest, I don't care as long as whatever is low in defense, has a counter in the resist department. For an example, Low Defense for Fire/Cold...is fine as long as my resist to it is there. And since we are messing with Rage, I would prefer a high Resist/Regen WP (Since Rage Crash kills Defense anyway, Regen+Resist will be equally as survivable as a high Defense set) with the exception of Energy/NegE...which I would prefer have cap or close to cap Defense to counter Sappers.

Desperately needing help on this one. Who knows, maybe one day you will want an Ice/Stone Tank and I can give you a die hard build.

I am honestly deeply considering SS/Elec as I can easily achieve the Tank-like results I want with that build AND have a natural End Drain resist. In the days of the old, I had a really great WP/Stone Tank....I thought I could get those same results with a Brute using SS instead....I am finding this way more challenging that I expected.

Not sure if this does what you need, but it's what I'm currently running (minus the incarnate powers). Doing pretty well so far. Has a decent combo of defense, resistance, and regen. He's a Hulk rip-off, so many choices were for theme (like Hurl). Also a bit expensive, but I have a farm toon sugar daddy and patience. I'm sure there's room for improvement.

Not with attuned sets.  You get the set bonus even if you don't have the power they are slotted in as long as you are not more than 3 levels below the lowest level possible for the IO

Helen is right. Here's the ParagonWiki link: https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Exemplar_Effects_on_Enhancements

Under the Set Bonuses header:

Quote

Set Bonuses are always on, even if the power in which the Set is slotted isn't activated, and even if that power is greyed out due to exemplaring! However, you do start to lose the bonuses if you exemplar more than three levels under the level of the IOs in the Set.

This aspect of the game is commonly misunderstood. I read this article a lot and I still forget some of the wrinkles because it's stupidly complicated what you lose when, and what the exceptions are. But set bonuses are remarkably durable if you use attuned sets and purples. It's a hidden advantage to building up to the defense softcap from nothing - the parts of your defense that come from set bonuses are yours to keep, even if the parts that come from powers aren't available any more. Having 30% defense at low level is really strong, especially if that's not your only layer of defense.
