Hi team - returning player (9+ years ago)... been trying to play some new powersets.  Toying with the idea of a Dark/Savage/Ice dom.  Did a bunch of board research and after modifying some builds I saw (for Dark/Fire and others for Savage) came up with this.   It's got about 40% S/L def and ~40% ranged def.  I figured with a small purple or Fearsome Stare I woudl soft-cap.   I tried to proc out Unkindness, Call Hawk, and Feral Charge.  I'm really liking Feral Charge and Savage on my stalker.

 

Went Ice epic for the +Def shield plus team-friendly Sleet and some extra AOE in Ice Storm.  Dropped the Umbral Beast as I figured it wouldn't add as much as the other stuff I took.   Tried to stick a set with dmg proc into Rending Flurry assuming I could use it esp with stacks that make the PBAOE bigger.

 

I think it's permadom / perma-hasten.  Very open to suggestions and criticism.  Love to get some feedback!  Thanks all.

Was toying with swapping out Maneuvers for Hoarfrost (2 slotted with heal sets maybe numina).  Not sure worth it or not.  On the one hand, lowers the defs to S/L/R down to ~36%-37%.  On the other hand, adds (apparently) like a 400hp buffer but is up only every 180 secs or so for 120 secs.

Hi, your build is well thought out. You're obv stuck between chasing damage and defense and that's fine. You don't need to be uber in either direction. Personally, this is a build I'd like to try before I say which direction I'd take it, but on paper it's attractive. Get your Perf shift end in stamina, slow poke!

This is where i ended up after some input from a forum member via DM, who had built for +res and taken the fire epic.  Largely involved abandoning all pets (no haunt) and proccing out Heart of Darkness.  Took Hoarfrost as it seemed like it would give extra margin of error on hard moments.  Playing this now to see how it goes.  Def to S/L and Ranged are 40%+ so I softcap with Fearsome stare or a small purple or probably easily on teams.

 

I see the appeal of Fire epic for the Feral Charge / Fireball / Heart of Darkness proc-nuke goodness.  But I still wanted to try Sleet/Icestorm.

Having played this on 50 teams and TFs a while this weekend, I can say that Unkindness is not a power to keep at 50.  It activates too slow, the damage is a slow-ish DOT, and the cone isn't quite as big as Fearsome or Living Shadows.  Also it recharges fast so I think proc chance is low.  In groups doing radio missions etc., I generally found myself spamming Feral Charge and Call Hawk to try to get the +recharge buff from Force Feedback so the 2 AOE controls would be up faster, especially Heart of Darkness.   Used Fearsome largely when those were down. 

 

Thinking about a build that swaps it out 6-slotted for Rending Flurry, so that I can have a 4-procced out PBAOE to hit after Feral Charge, sometimes with 5-stacks.  Though it may recharge too fast for may procs to be useful? 

 

Otherwise, for team play, I see why josh went fire epic for Fireball.

FWIW I spent a lot of money doing an exemplared-down 2nd build, trying to build for permadom at lower levels and powers better suited to TFs etc. when exemping.   I used catalysts on most of the sets so theoretically their benefit stays at lower levels (it only goes down to the level you took the power at, right?).  

 

Anyway, I ran Manticore last night and was able to get Permadom at 35.  On Posi TFs, I could get dom to fire 2 times sequentially but couldn't stay perma.  Added the pets back for more punch at lower levels and for set bonuses.  Seems to be working out OK.  Hat tip to Oedipus Tex for the idea. 

 

(Everything above level 38 is empty because at 38+ I'm going back to the main build above, not this exemp build).
