interesting. almost like it is proccing but it procs on the "pet" and as such does nothing. 

 

does lightning rod have this issue too?

 

savage leap works differently than the other telenukes. It works correctly.

I haven't played much electric melee recently to be able to tell you, but my hunch is yes.

Finally got mine to 50. If anyone saw 5 of every red fortune on the AH suddenly sell for 5m a piece... That was me. 

 

So far I'm impressed. It's great to pull out these huge chunky hits and crit all the time. 

 

I still have a long way to go to make my build, and I am dying for Cardiac, but this build has an incredible mix of ST and AOE damage. 

 

Went Mu for that snipe and Ball Lighting. Love Shield Charging in and immediately following up with a ball lighting and a crit disembowel to whoever stands too close. 

 

Anyone notice a lag on the damage of Zapp?

Once you've slotted up the purples, many give +Recovery, you might be better served going Alpha-Musculature, Hybrid-Assault, Interface-Degenerative and Destiny-Ageless.  Cardiac is nice, but you will find Cardiac+Ageless to be overkill with a fully slotted out build similar to the OP's.  

 

 

I used Machariel's build posted earlier as a basis for my Post-50 build.  Gotta say this is hard hitting truck and incredibly sturdy.

 

 

 

I did make some changes:

 

-Dropped Fly/Hover/Afterburner....didn't work with my playstyle

-Added Super Jump, Super Speed and Maneuvers

-Removed one of the Achilles Heel -RES procs since you can't stack them, replaced with a six-slotted Armageddon

-Threw a Touch of Death proc into Parry....it's noticeable

 

Ended up with 54% Melee, 45% Ranged and 85% (during Hide/Stealth) AOE.  170+% Recharge before Incarnate Ageless.  I'm going Musculature/Degenerative/Ageless.  Resists aren't natively great but OOtS will cap S/L, and Shadow Meld is a great alpha button to skyrocket all your DEF.

 

One thing not mentioned by anyone is that Grant Cover, while it's +DEF ONLY to teammates (not self) does give you +14% (AND teammates) Defense Debuff Resistance.  Since this build easily keeps Active Defense double stacked, I'm at 70% Defense Resist at all times.  That's helpful on a +DEF build.

 

Big crunchy hits.  I can hit a +4 EB for 3000 with a Headsplitter crit.  Frequently.

Your defense is not soft-capped in combat.  Are you having any issues with that or are you mitigating in some other way?

 

I think Hide provide 1.88% defense when in combat, so it looks like your Ranged is 41.18 and your AoE is 42.48.  You may want to check in game, not sure if the LotG is boosting it a bit more. 

 

Our builds are pretty similar.  I went down the Fighting pool path, so am concerned I'll have endurance issues until I get Incarnates.  I'm only 32, I play this guy in between other characters when the patrol xp is maxxed, so might be awhile before I get to 50.  I do want to get OWTS in my build, but will have to make some adjustments somewhere.

In combat, I'm at 46% Melee.  Just checked.  I sometimes find minor differences between what MIDS shows and the Combat Monitoring widget in-game.

 

Parry is what makes this build as sturdy as it can be.  Toggle it on in Mids, even if you toggle off Hide and Stealth to really 'artificially neuter' the defense readings, you'll see the impact.  It's in every single attack chain I'm executing.  During combat, with just single application of Parry, I'm at 62% Melee Defense.


Double checked my Incarnate powers....since I've T4'd out this character a couple months ago, he's basically just perma-parked in Cim now for ITF runs.  I have Musculature for Alpha and Ageless for Destiny so don't have any additional +DEF buffs coming in other than from my own IO bonuses and powers.

And don't forget about the "Chance to Hide" Proc which basically, in the middle of combat, will proc off and kick me up to over 70+% Melee DEF -DURING- Combat (for next attack anyways).  

 

This is partially why the set feels so OP.  

 

Now if I'm taking massive incoming fire from a bunch of DEFDEBUFFED Ranged attacks, yeah, it can get gnarly.  But I'm usually in Melee 99.99% of the time anyways.  I took Hybrid/Assault but you could take Hybrid/Melee if you really wanted some more mitigation than this.  I've not found I needed any.

I went with a natural theme for mine so no shadowmeld for me 😞

 

Didn't take parry but I can definitely see a use case for it since a lot of lethal damage also do -def.

 

I don't feel the build really needs hasten, the FF procs compensate for not taking it though,

I'm having a problem I can't quite figure out, even after trying to search online. I'm new, level 38 and I have level 40 basic IOs and hide + stealth toggled, but when I try to open up from hidden with headsplitter or anything other than AS I sometimes - rather frequently - do not crit. I just hit for normal damage. I am new to stalkers, is there some mechanic or trick I am missing?

Headsplitter is technically an AoE with a small cone, so it only gets a 50% crit chance from hide. Try opening with disembowel instead.
