Maybe 5 merits would be enough to make people want to take a break from endless PI radio missions to rush through a Safeguard mission now and then.

Or add the merits to the side missions in the Safeguard.

I think adding a single Merit as a reward for doing a Safeguard/Mayhem mission sounds like an excellent idea!  And then another merit for each side mission you do!

Sounds like a good idea to me. Might actually make me care about them once again. lol

We brainstormed some ideas for Mayhem mission rewards a while back.  Could just as easily be examined as rewards for Safeguards too:  https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/19591-make-mayhem-missions-more-rewarding/

Although I'm certainly of the opinion that Mayhem Missions should be more rewarding than Safeguards, if only because robbing a bank should net someone more clout than protecting it in a city full of heroes.

Or having multiple hero-types ambush you instead of random security. It's a City of Heroes. There should be a few teams of do-gooders waiting for us.

 

P2W does make many of the temps pointless but a few are quite good. I'd be good with Temp powers we'd get from Mayhems being purchasable with reward merits from a P2W vendor but you'd need a "voucher" stolen from a mayhem get them. But to be honest, when I can buy 100s of Daggers, stun grenades and tasers at a time... eh.

 

The rewards do need a look over. The nostalgia has warn off a bit on doing it just to be old school.

Thanks for D-Sync Enhancements! Just wish things like Resist/End, Heal/End and Damage/Mez had a third stat that made them more viable. Suggestions - add Recharge to Ribosomes, Range to Golgis, and Slows to Peroxisomes. These changes would allow for an endurance cost/range, recharge/endurance, and slow/mez or slow/damage enhancements.

Mayhems deserve rewards WAY before Safeguards. Literally all SG's are..run to the bank, kill a boss+minions..then a whole second mob, thats it.

 

Just rushing to the bank on a mayhem spawns ambushes..which follow you anywhere on the map, and KEEP coming. The lowbie team saying 'Oh cool a mayhem! Lets do it. +2 will be fine, cause we were stomping paper missions,' is very familiar to me. QUickly followed by everyone quitting after multiple trips to jail, breaking out, only for every ambush to be waiting for you.
