Dark Armor... I’m in love

Dark Armor has a bit of a reputation for being endurance hungry, so you can see why Dark Melee would be a perfect fit for it.

Definitely.  I took a dark/dark tank to 50 (and incarnate) back on live.  Dark Melee gives you a self-heal and a +end power.  Very powerful.

... don't forget, you can recolor DA for new looks that can inspire new ideas. Super Sand Witch, for instance, is a Water/DA (... whichever order that goes in) Sentinel with it tinted tan/brown for a sandstorm....

And you can recolor the dark melee attacks to every color of the rainbow!  Thus, I have Chromatic Cat, invuln/dark tank.  🙂

Originally on Infinity.  I have Ironblade on every shard.  -  My only AE arc:  The Origin of Mark IV  (ID 48002)

Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.

EM is great fun, every attack stunning coupled with OG and ET's -health being irrelevant with Dark Regeneration.

It's actually so powerful it gets annoying, as everything is permastunned and waddles out of range of your AoEs.

If only Cloak of Fear was mag3 rather than mag2. Then it would be worth running for a pseudo-immobilize.

I know a lot skip OG since it only stuns minions... if you use EM, does it stack to stun higher level baddies?

I have several dark Armour now.

Staff scrapper bunny as well my avenging angel psionic weapons scrapper both at 50, both equally fun with a vastly different playstyle.

There is my cow tank some where in the low 30s. Don't know what his secondary is, probably something appropriate for a cow. It's been a while 😛

Claws brute street sweeping his way through the Praetorian zones, lvl 30 now hovering between day and night wards.

I can never decide if I like fire or dark better. Fire has more damage but Dark keeps you alive to do it naturally.

Staff/Dark is a ton of fun. Love the combo on my tanker. I didn’t even think of Psionic Melee though! That could be a cool pairing.

I'm a big fan of my Dark Armor/Stone Melee tank. Essentially a very beefy PBAoE stun machine that can also permaStun bosses for fun. Recolored the Dark Armor to appear like sand to better match Stone Melee's aesthetics.

That is a pretty sweet concept! Not the first time I heard it mentioned. I know some DA users skip OG, but I’m sure you pick it up on this hero haha

Ohhhhhh boy. That is some food for thought haha. Any chance that will ever stun an EB or an AV?!!!

EBs should be fine unless they're the "lesser AV" variety with the triangles.  Presumably stacking enough stuns on a triangles EB or AV should stun them when the triangles are down, otherwise I doubt it's possible to stack enough stuns alone, even with EM being a stun machine,

AVs get stunned a lot during the down part of their purple triangles. They have only boss level resistance to mez during that part, so it's easy.

Native EBs (without purple triangles) might be stunned with constant attacking.

While back I read Savage with Dark Armor. But don't remember if it was for Tank, or Scrapper, or ...

Any thoughts on pairing Savage with Dark Armor?

I mean, it seems like It'd be a SWEET combo, now that you mention it haha. I'd probably run it on a Brute or Tanker (Savage just feels pretty "Brute" like, and the Tanker AOE's are probably pretty nice).

Anyone else with insight on this cool combo?

I am running it on a Stalker kind of as a Nightcrawler homage, but as a werefox.
I took the Teleport, Speed and Fighting pools. Body Mastery
Build Up - Combat TP - Savage Leap out of Hide - Rending Flurry...  is some cool  AOE fun with Touch of Fear running.  Everything cowers or dies.

Dark/Spines Scrapper is my namesake. . . Remade into a brute on Homecoming. . . And now runs as a Tank that just cannot be taken down - like ever. . .

Now does he kill really fast. . . yeah that is a big no. . . is the fluffy commander of the battlefield fun to play - ABSOLUTELY!

And yes I did build a Dark/Savage Melee but she was not nearly as fun as my Shield/SM so I would say avoid that combo.

Awesome build man, ty! The Shield/Savage seems like it could be a good time with both Savage Leap and Shield Charge haha. I've run several Shield Defense heroes, so I may switch it up. What archetype did you run it on? Tanker?

Yep. She is one of my most played toons ever (been here since issue 4 - damn I am getting old).

She has done just about everything - short of the Master of the ITF run because I really hate that type of challenge. . . But my favorite was taking on the 3 Seeds of Hamidon AV's and the only thing I worried about was her getting winded when the SM end buff dropped at the wrong time! But she can die. . . my Dark/Spines. . . I don't think he has ever faceplanted - I can put Dark Regen on auto, make dinner, eat, do the dishes, take the dogs for a walk, shower, and come back and he is still standing there smiling.
