You got garbage slotting all over, lots of useless procs preventing you from getting full set bonus.  Damage procs don't help that much if you are suffering the basics in +Def and Recharge.  Personally I am not a fan of SS/Fire, tried it but Rage crash killed the fun factor.

SS/Fire/Mu, gives 2 AoE fitted with a -resist proc.  3 -resist, including the one in burn, and you got some utility.  If you were adamant about Fire epic, just remove it and try to reach 45% defense using Winter set Frozen Blast followed by how much recharge you desired.  And +5 boost Hasten/Rage/Firey Embrace, reduce their recharge even more.

well thanks for the help but burn does half a bosses life and SS clears fast as fuck you must play it wrong i never get close to dying with 44.2% def even with rage crash it clears bloody rainbow in 4:30 if you want to cap out your def change the alpha to agility not to hard to work that one out, and full set slotting is the old way to play

and yes i have a MU setup that i will use a lot of ppl dont want to go get MU so its pryo

SS/Fire brute was my very first 50 back in the day. That along with my EM/WP brute were my mains back in the day. 
 

I have yet to recreate my ss/fire brute on homecoming as I have enjoyed having great offense and great defense with other combinations. I don’t think fiery aura will ever eclipse something like invuln or shield in terms of survivability. However, fire offers the best boost to offense of all armors. 
 

So, today I have decided to recreate my first 50. Unlike most of my builds I make I am not trying to softcap M or s/l in addition to the resist. I am also not trying to hardcap all resistances. Instead, I’m going for a moderate amount of melee defense (high 30s), hard cap s/l/f resist, and get moderate resist for e/n (>60%). Then I’m going to go full steam ahead on damage, damage, damage. Killing the enemy will be my primary mitigation. 
 

I’ll see how I enjoy it once it is fully fleshed out.

It won't.
But that's cool.

You can STILL be a Billy Badass, relatively safe, and output PHENOMENAL damage!

Agreed. I personally don’t choose fiery aura for mitigation. I choose it for damage. It has better damage tools than any other set including bio and shield. It just pays more for those tools. But that’s cool just as you said.


Fire is the best at what it does, and what it does isn’t very nice!

I just created an alt account so I could self farm alts on my main.  I went with SS/Fire.  I am using the build you posted above Hyperstrike.  Thanks.

 

I actually will not be doing "much' farming on the character.  I plan to get busy with incarnate trials and accolades.  Then it will probably randomly sit for long periods until needed.  They definitely put out a metric crapton of damage.

Yeah.  That's something a lot of builders forget to do in the hurry to farm to 50.

Sometimes it isn't about tweaking the build.
Sometimes the improvements they want can be gotten via accolades.

Endurance woes?  Portal Jockey, Atlas Medallion.  BOOYAH!
