The BoomBox - Fire/Kin

Bud

Recommended Posts

My build, which will probably change.

It's definitely not perfect so I'm open and encourage any criticism and discussion! :)

Pros:

Fulcrum Shift + Inferno(X2(Burnout))!!! The Boom.

Speed Boost and Increase Density(Use it, people!!)

Instant Snipe(No circle showing so though, known bug..)

Awesome recharge

Capped S/L Defense

Good amount of S/L Resist

Never need to worry about End.

Bery busy button bashing.

Crop duster.

Cons:

Some squish.

Expensive.

Needs more recharge.

Don't get cocky, kid.. when it comes to other damage types

Bery busy button bashing.

If you know enough to import a build and use Pine's then you know how to play this.

If anyone needs any other help though, don't hesitate to contact me here or in-game on the same handle as here: @Bud

Alternates:

You can switch out Burnout for Vengeance and put another LotG 7.5 in there but I found I never got to even use Veng, not with my SG but it's up to you. You run a lot of PUG's and see people dying very often? Then Veng is the way to go. I will say that double Inferno is pure, high-class pr0nography though.

Pick whichever Lore pet you find most appealing. I went with the Romans because they have nice ST damage but it's your choice.

If you don't like carrying Break Frees and feel like you're taking too much damage, you can switch out the Assault Hybrid for the Melee.

Wanted to say I leveled a Fire/Kinetic to 50 last night, slotted it up as you listed minus the purples. Did not have the dosh for Superiors, Apocalypses and Ragnarocks for now. But it works really well. Im enjoying teaming with it. Not sure how it will fair soloing as of yet.

I was able to solo Black Scorpion's patron arc and Maria Jenkin's arc, all with EB's of course. Had to use a few Inspirations(Read: Break Frees XD) here and there but it wasn't too bad actually.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it though!

With that much recharge on fulcrum shift, I think the musculature core alpha isn't doing much for you. With two fulcrum shifts you are at dmg cap for sure, so regardless of the alpha breaking past ED it still won't break past the 500% dmg cap on corruptors. I suggest either the agility or spiritual alphas instead, the spiritual alphas especially if you really have no endurance issues, but it doesn't really offer anything else you'd want. However, the agility could still out a bit more defense for you, while still giving you 33% more recharge (22% of which breaks last the ED cap). I'd go with the agility alpha personally, 20% more def with 33% recharge is hard to beat.

Endurance flat out doesn't matter with Transference.

With capped Siphon Speed and the +Rech from the click Incarnate, Ageless you don't really benefit from that little bit more.

Inferno is up every 32 seconds, with Ageless it goes to 29 seconds.

Fulcrum Shift is 13 seconds, with Ageless it's 12 seconds.

Whereas damage is damage, as far as I'm concerned.

With the Musculature and the +5 boosts we're sitting on +140% damage to Fireball and something like +138% to Inferno. Which is damage that is calculated before Fulcrum Shift is taken into account.

It is late though and I'm not logged in at the moment so I definitely could be wrong though.

So, with two fulcrum shifts (something that is super easy to maintain given the amount of recharge), you are at dmg cap regardless of how you get there. 500% is the dmg cap for corruptors, you start at 100, with another 100 or so from enhancements, then add in the fulcrum shifts and you are easily at 500%. This is why I say the musculature does very little for you, that extra 45% enhanced dmg (30% of which goes past ED but not dmg cap of 500%) is completely negated once you are already at the cap. Enhancements or the alpha slot does not change base dmg, nothing does. -resist or the assault radial hybrid are ways to do more dmg while at cap.

I'm not sure where I got it into my head that damage from enhancements and global damage are different but there we are. Maybe thinking of a dif game...

I thought that the damage from enhancements was additive type damage and global damage was multiplicative but after a bit of searching and a lot of face palming, I have educated my ignorant self.

Thank you for correcting me on that, I want to continue to improve my build and myself.

With the Musculature Alpha, you can cap when it's a single target, like an AV/Hero. And what I'm just realising now, you only need to FS once(at max stacks) and 2 stack Siphon Power to cap the damage on all attacks.

With the Spiritual Alpha, the cooldown on Inferno drops by 3.3s and FS is 1.5s, in Pines.

I still think Musculature is the better option for general gameplay but the Spiritual would be better for team farming.

If we take your advice, death before you even finish the FS animation..

Silliness aside, you can solo the BM farm at +4x8.

After an Inferno, the only thing left standing are 2 half dead boss types, which will immediately turn to flee because of the DoT from Inferno.

The build won't fail you, my man.

I'm playing a fire/kin and I'm wondering how you FS twice without eating an alpha?

I played a lot of Kin/Elec back in the day, never built a corruptor and I remember FS drawing all the aggro like you dropped a fireball. I'm at 20 and the squish is real. Going to respec into the magic pool for the mez protection. Can't wait til the endurance issues go away...

Well, essentially you make sure you are softcapped to s/l and get your s/l resist as high as you can. Mace shield (lvl 35 patron power) is very helpful in achieving the s/l softcap (45% defense). By doing this you dont really take much dmg as they only hit you 5% of the time. My fire/kin has around 52% s/l resists and 56% s/l defense (to prevent a defense debuffs Cascade death).
