Keybind working but new message appeared.

Hello, I have to use a number of different machines with different screen sizes and resolutions.

So I have the same screen layout saved on each machine and use the same keybind on every alt.

Have used that same keybind on live and on HC for every alt blue gold and red sides.

Bind is /bind H “option_load$$wdw_load”

 

Works great and in chat box I get the following: (in green text)

Options loaded from file

c:/Games/Homecoming/settings/live/options.txt

Windows file loaded:

c/games/Homecoming/settings/live/wdw.txt

 

 

Since the latest patch and across all machines and on the same alts (but not all alts, about 30% of them and the same alts all the time) I am now getting two addition lines of text (in yellow text) before the above:

Invalid option name LoyaltyTreeAccessButton

Invalid option name StoreAccessButton

then the green text as above.

 

The bind still does what it should no problem but not sure why only some of my alts get the new lines.

I cannot find any common state across the affected alts like level or type or zone or trained/untrained et cetera.

Tried redoing the bind but still same.

Look in your settings\homecoming\options.txt file for lines starting with those names. They're probably at the bottom of the file. Those names are commands to toggle on and off oooold UI elements left over from the Paragon store and NCSoft account system that don't work here because there's no link to those things any more.

 

I am betting our devs finally removed the commands to control those UI elements, and now the game complains when you load the options file containing them.

 

Why it only displays on certain characters I cannot explain.

 

You can safely edit the file with something like Notepad. Just remove those lines that start with those names.

Hello UberGuy, absolutely smashed it. 100% correctly diagnosed. Edited the file and problem it go away. 👍👏😀

 

Now given the expertise you so obviously have, please just have a chuckle if the following is a complete bucket of nonsense....

 

When I originally installed the game after it returned I put it in a different folder structure to the one above (used CoH\.....) and was using the old NcSoft launcher.

 

So when the new HC launcher came along and I installed it as per their guidance, I seem to remember that the install also downloaded and installed a fresh version of the game complete. We then had to copy paste a few files from old to new.

The path above is to the new install and I think that all the alts that were being affected were the ones I have created since using the new launcher.

For some reason the older ones made under the other version were still using the old txt file location.

I never got round to deleting the old version cause you know “just in case!” 😇
