Combat Attributes - Absorption

I'm very glad they finally added Absorption to Combat Attributes. Now...how do you read it? I mean, Regeneration Rate and Recovery Rate show hp/sec and end/sec respectively. Absorption just gives me a number...and it seems to be constantly changing.

 

For some minor clarity, I have a Psychic Blast/Temporal Manipulation Blaster. Under Absorption points there is a sub-heading that shows Temporal Healing multiple times. And it bounces around showing from 3 - 6 times.

Treat it like extra HP. So you can look at your current hit points (X) and your current absorb (Y), and you'll know it will take X + Y damage to defeat you

yeah, but does it have a refresh rate? what is it? It appears to refresh when taking damage.

It depends on the source of Absorb.  Most absorbs are applied at once (Preventative Medicine, Ablative Carapace, Insulating Circuit) while a couple are over time (Wild Fortress, Reaction Time, Spirit Ward).  Players and foes do not naturally generate Absorb points.
